Telco MWI Detection on TDM400 Interface?
I use a TDM400 card to interface with my telco. I used asterisk voice
mail. However, if I'm on the telco line while another call comes in,
obviously it cannot go to asterisk voice mail but instead bounces to the
Telco voice mail.
Is there any means by which I can get asterisk detect the Message
Waiting Indicator (MWI) from the telco? Is there some application or
variable which can be

Version FIOS MWI Detection - asterisk-1.6-beta7
I'm trying to get the Telco MWI recognition working in asterisk-1.6-beta7. I'm told that it's supposed to work provided
my telco support FSK MWI signalling.
I have Verzon FIOS. I believe I have FSK MWI signaling as I can hear the standard stutter tone when I pick up a live
handset in front of my asterisk connection.
I have the Verizon line attached to a TDM400 card, port 4.

MWI on Zap analog phone not lighting
We are using Bellsouth 8867 phones on our TDM400B FXS lines
(asterisk-1.0.3). It has a "Voicemail" light, which appears to be MWI
(according to the manual it works with voicemail from the telco that
sends a FSK signal). The dialtone stutters when a line has voicemail, so
I know that I have the mailbox setting right in zapata.conf, but the
light doesn't go on. I am also getting

Monitoring a telco line for MWI through a TDM400 FXO
Folks,
I've tried to find a reference, but I've had no luck, and would
appreciate your thoughts:
I'd like to be able to monitor a telco line for Message Waiting
Notification, however I cannot figure out if this capability is
available.
Detecting either FSK or Stuttered Dial tone would serve, but I can't
find anything in the list archives or Wiki with clues as to how this
might

Remote MWI for Central Voicemail?
Hi -
We've got multiple offices with their own asterisk boxes (CVS HEAD
11/03/04-14:59:37) connecting to each other using IAX forwards. All
users are on SIP phones. Voicemail is centralized to one location.
Everything is hunky dory except that the users in the remote offices
don't get MWI on their phones. I've seen the other posts to this list
regarding this, and

Snom 320 voicemail key & MWI
Dear List,
I'm having a blinking MWI light on the snom 320 even when there's no message
waiting in Asterisk.
We've managed to make the voicemail button work using
fromdomain=192.168.0.1 in sip.conf
vmexten=2500 (our VoicemailMain application extension in extensions.conf).
We also added
notifymimetype=application/simple-message-summary also in sip.conf to allow
SIP simple MWI

Repost: External voicemail and MWI on internal phone
Hi,
I didn't get any response to this posting so thought I'd post again in the hope
that anyone who missed the posting the first time may be able to offer some ideas.
This problem isn't specific to the particular model of phone - I can see from
sip debug that the local extension itself is not being sent any Messages-Waiting
headers.
Any alternative strategy would also be welcomed

mwi for voicemail not showing up for realtime config.
Hello ppl,
Am using realtime odbc storage for voicemail, sip users/peers, static
for extensions and so on.
My issue is I am not getting MWI for any fones, even tho I've got
rtcachefriends=yes in sip.conf
WIth tcpdump, I always see the NOTIFY going as
Messages-Waiting:.no
Voice-Message:.0/0.(0/0)
even tho there are legitimate voicemails in the INBOX path for that

External voicemail and MWI on internal phone
Hi,
I have a Cisco 7941 phone running SIP, and for a variety of reasons [1] have
configured this in the short term to use my local Asterisk server to register
to, and then have my local Asterisk server in turn register to the upstream SIP
proxy at my voice provider.
Voicemail is supplied by my VoIP provider, so I've no real need to set up
voicemail locally.
My provider also runs Asterisk,

MWI to 7960's sometimes delayed or lost. Please advise.
I have a large group of 7960G's running Asterisk 1.2.4 using SIP 7.5. Most
of the time the message waiting indicator works fine. Once or twice a day
either an MWI is not sent to the phone or the phone misses it. I have not
noticed duplicates being sent and I can't figure out the time, if any, a
resend is made. Anyone know why I'm missing, loosing or not sending an MWI

Questions about chan_dahdi, PRI, MWI (and Q.SIG)
Hello everyone,
My setup:
Debian squeeze
Asterisk 1.8, DAHDI, libpri, compiled from source
TE110P, attached to a Deutsche Telekom Octopus E Modell 300/800
I'm trying to get MWI for Voicemail working. In the same server I have
also got an Eicon DIVA PRI card for testing purposes (it is integrated
via CAPI and the chan-capi channel driver into my Asterisk). MWI works
just fine there.

MWI not working on Polycom Phones
Hi All -
I'm running version SIP version 1.3.4 on various IP300, IP500, and
IP600 Polycom phones. I'm having a tough time with MWI. I thought I
remembered somebody on the list saying that they had it working, but I
can't find it in the archives now. I have all the phones configured
for MWI as specified in the WIKI:
ipdmid.cfg:

reliably (and in my opinion correctly) with voicemail.
I've got the following in my phone.cfg:

Asterisk 1.6.1.x SMDI MWI w/Fujitsu F9600 Problem
We have recently pulled an ancient Fujitsu-branded Centigram voicemail
system out of production use and replaced it with an Asterisk box, which
is now serving as our enterprise voicemail system and automated attendant.
The Asterisk system is connected to a Fujitsu F9600 PBX and uses the
1.6.1.x SMDI module to communicate between the two systems.
Save for one issue, the replacement of the old

Voice mail: MWI problem / pjsip (13.24.0)
Hello!
I'm facing a problem concerning MWI. The problem is:
The phone switches off the MWI exactly at the moment the second NOTIFY package for one voice mail
arrives.
The phone switches off MWI independently if the voice mail has been acknowledged or not before.
The behavior in detail:
- Once each hour, phone sends SUBSCRIBE
- Asterisk receives incoming voice mail for Device 200.
- some
