Uniden UIP-200 Multiple line appearances
Hi - I'm wondering if any has experience with the Uniden UIP-200 phones. The product info says that the 8 led buttons at the top are all programmable. Can they be programmed as separate line appearances (ala Snom 200, Cisco 7960, Zultys Zip4x4, etc)? In other words - is the phone capable of multiple SIP registrations? Also, the post about these phones at voip-info.org mentions some

Zultys Paging Solution / App for Multicast
Hi all, I have found the solution for getting Zultys handsets to accept paging messages. We need an app to send RTP packets with a codec of G711U to send to port 3771 on multicast dest of 224.0.0.1. There isn't any need to use SDP or SCCP packets to inform the phone to "listen" for those packets, they do it by default. Finally we may be able to get a solution going for Zultys

Polycom vs. Cisco IP Phones
Hi all, I am working on building a new VoIP PBX. Looking at the current market for phones it seems my best "enterprise" options are the Cisco and Polycom phones. I have some experiance with the Cisco 7940G, but the process of flashing the phone with the SIP firmware left a bad taste in my mouth (not to mention the added expense for the phone). What is the general consensis about

IP Conference Units?
Hi - We have a couple of large spaces that we'd like to cover with dedicated conference units like the Polycom Soundstation IP3000. We're concerned about adequately covering the spaces, though, one of which is very long and narrow. I wanted to get external add-on microphones for the IP3000, but I've found that unlike some of their other conference products, it does not have this

Zultys 4x4 or 4x5 ip phones?
Does anyone on-list use the Zultys 4x4 or 4x5 ip phones? I'd like to hear some opinion before I buy a few. I'm especially interested in the PSTN interface on the 4x5. Does it relay to * for VM when an incomming call is not answered by the phone? Thanks, Michael -- Michael Graves mgraves@pixelpower.com Sr. Product Specialist

RTP Stream on Multicast
Hi all, Does anyone know of a method of sending a raw G711 stream to an address in Asterisk. For example, an application that takes a argument of a phone and a port. The reason? I have found a method to paging on Zultys ZIP2 and ZIP4x4 handsets. Basically it involves sending a stream of RTP data to port 3771 to multicast address 224.0.0.1. Would it need to involve me writing my

Zultys Phones w/ Encryption
I've got a Zultys WIP2 and Zultys 2x2 both of which support encryption. I have patched my asterisk with srtp (srtp.sourceforce.net) as well as with the patch found at http://bugs.digium.com/view.php?id=5413. I'm trying to utilizing the encryption feature of the two Zultys phones to create an encrypted call, but am having extreme difficulty. I keep getting the following error message

MWI not working on Polycom Phones
Hi All - I'm running version SIP version 1.3.4 on various IP300, IP500, and IP600 Polycom phones. I'm having a tough time with MWI. I thought I remembered somebody on the list saying that they had it working, but I can't find it in the archives now. I have all the phones configured for MWI as specified in the WIKI: ipdmid.cfg: up.oneTouchVoiceMail="1"

Zultys phones with encryption
Hi All, Does anyone on-list have experience with the Zultys 4x4 and 4x5 phones with AES encryption? Does this work well with *? I imagine that it would work as long as * doesn't have to decode the stream. What are the implications for calls going to voicemail or MeetMe? I'd pondering installing the 4x5, especially if Zultys can make the on-board FXO port available to * as well as a

Snom Phones Volume
Good Day List, I have several different SIP Phones running on my asterisk box. I have recently purchased a snom 190 and a snom 220. They work great, EXCEPT I have to have the volume turned all the way up in order to hear the conversation on the other end. All the other phones Zultys 4x5, 4x4, 2x2, Cisco 7960, Wooksung 2000... all behave fine and volume is set to middle of the range and I

Siemens S685IP registration problems
Hi folks, I wonder if any of you out there are using Siemens S685IP base station(s) (with S68H handsets) on Asterisk and experiencing problems with SIP registrations where the SIP extensions do not ring and peers become unreachable after a period of time. Symptoms are rather sporadic, but as described, SIP extensions being unreachable from Asterisk perspective. Also experienced 'not

Has anyone who's gotten this message managed to figure it out and fix it? I've been scouring the mailing list for clues but I'm still no closer. I have 2 asterisk servers, old and new. I'm trying to switch to the new server. I am using a 2.4 kernel on the new and a 2.6 on the old. I am running 0.9.0 on the old and my sip phones work fine, on the new Ihave tried 0.9.0,

WIFI SIP- The Best phone
Hello Everyone, I can see that a few people are interested in SIP WIFI phones. I have tested several Linksys 300,and it is OK. More of a toy then a business tool. It a poor built in ear speaker, which makes all calls sound tinny, and the unit is known to hang. I have two Linksys 300's that are fun to play with however, I wont hand them out to users. HOWEVER- The Zultys WIP 2 is an

Have the Sayson IP phon started to deliver yet? I'm thinking about two new phones for my office and considering the Sayson 480i and Zultys 4x4. Would also consider the Virbiage phone if it becomes available. I have Snom 200s and a Pingtel phone at the moment. Michael -- Michael Graves mgraves@pixelpower.com Sr. Product Specialist

Zultys 4x5 phone
Does anyone on-list have any advice about the version 2.2 firmware for the Zultys 4x5 phone? It has a new "gateway" mode that is supposed to direct calls on the analogue line to the PBX for VM, etc. Zultys has not yet presented any docs, and the keep refering me to the reseller who doesn't know anything about t at all. Thanks, Michael -- Michael Graves

Re: transfers/parked calls + polycom 501
This is a dialpaln issue. I solved the same problem recently. For 4 digit extensions you need to append the dialplan statement in the sip.cfg configuration file as follows <digitmap dialplan.digitmap="[2-9]11|0T|011xxx.T|[0-1][2-9]xxxxxxxxx|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|[2 -9]xxxT|1xxxT" dialplan.digitmap.timeOut="3"/> Michael > I am not sure what I did but blind transfers do not

Bria softphone registration problems on DNS SRV cluster
I have a pair of Asterisk 11.5.1 servers operating as a load balanced cluster, with DNS SRV records set up to weight them 60/40 relative to each other (both at priority 0). The back-end is MySQL Realtime, and everything works pretty well with the Cisco SPA phones & ATAs that represent the majority of my endpoints. I recently tried to add an iPhone with the Bria softphone application, to
