Setup for Go2call ? Or any SIP provider using phonejack or linejack g729 g723
Hi, does anyone have the setup for go2call ?
I have digium boards and quicknet linejacks and phonejacks.
The cards work fine in asterisk without the g729 or g723.1 for the
phonejack.
I will like to do SIP origination using the codec in the phonejack and
linejack g729 or g723 and send the calls to go2call.
Anyone has the setup for this ? Or similar setup to a SIP provider using
g729 or g723

Re: [Serusers] ASTERISK+SER+MWI
What's wrong with ARA (asterisk realtime architecture)
from voip-info:
Asterisk, SER and MWI
http://mail.iptel.org/pipermail/serusers/2004-December/013727.html
Actually I wrote a patch for this and it supports
ast_data too. What you do is tell asterisk that all of
your phones IP addresses are your SER machine. Then
when a message gets left Asterisk sends the NOTIFY to

MWI work with ast_data?
Hi,
Has anyone got MWI to work with SIP phones while using ast_data? I have
asterisk setup on one machine which is reading it config from a DB on
another machine. Everything seems to work except for MWI...
Any successes out there?
Thanks.

MWI on Cisco ATA-186 (SIP)
I am trying to set up the Message Waiting Indicator (stutter
tone/light) so that my cisco ata-186 will let my phones know there is a
message waiting. However this does not seem to be very well
documented.
I found this on wiki mailboxnumber@context ... where does that go? Do
I put it in my SIP.conf definition for my cisco ata, or where. In my
SIP cisco definition i already have a

Polycom IP 500 - MWI Not Working
Hello All,
I have Polycom IP 500 phones which I would like to have message waiting
indicators on. So far, I have my system running well but the problem I
am seeing is that MWI doesn't seem to tell my phone that it should
display a MWI state. The light does not show when you have message nor
is there any indicator on the text lines of a message waiting. The wiki
doesn't cover this

MWI to 7960's sometimes delayed or lost. Please advise.
I have a large group of 7960G's running Asterisk 1.2.4 using SIP 7.5. Most
of the time the message waiting indicator works fine. Once or twice a day
either an MWI is not sent to the phone or the phone misses it. I have not
noticed duplicates being sent and I can't figure out the time, if any, a
resend is made. Anyone know why I'm missing, loosing or not sending an MWI
to the

Subscribe/Notify MWI not working for non-numeric accounts w/X-Lite
ok this is a wired problem. when i use X-Lite - after i register with
asterisk X-lite sends a subscribe/notify request to asterisk to
determine if the account has any messages waiting.
if i create a sip.conf account using:
user 12345 with a voicemail box 12345 - MWI works
user jwolosuk with a voicemail box 12345 MWI fails (gets a 404 not found
upon a subscribe)
does anyone have a clue why

7960/SIP MWI Question
The 7960's have an envelope that appears in the display next to a line
which has voicemail. Also, the MWI light is a logical OR of all the
defined lines.
Is there a way to tell the phone NOT to display the MWI for certain
lines but retain the envelope for all? If you get enough VM on busy
lines then the light tends to lose meaning and you may as well have it
on all the time!

Polycom 500 / MWI
All,
I'm using Asterisk 1.6 and using Polycom 500's with SIP firmware
2.1.3. I can not seem to get the Message Waiting Indicator to work
reliably (and in my opinion correctly) with voicemail.
I've got the following in my phone.cfg:
<reginfo>
<msg msg.bypassInstantMessage="1">
<mwi msg.mwi.1.callBack="*97"

UPDATE - Analog Phones with FSK/Stutter MWI
After purchasing the Uniden TRU9480 and then the Panansonic 5672, both of
which do not have "phone company" compatible FSK/stutter MWI, I finally
got smart and found out just which Panasonic phones have this feature.
Only the following 5.8G models in their current line have FXO compatible
MWI. I purchased the 5771 unit and one remote. I have confimed it does in
fact work with Asterisk

Asterisk 1.6.1.x SMDI MWI w/Fujitsu F9600 Problem
We have recently pulled an ancient Fujitsu-branded Centigram voicemail
system out of production use and replaced it with an Asterisk box, which
is now serving as our enterprise voicemail system and automated attendant.
The Asterisk system is connected to a Fujitsu F9600 PBX and uses the
1.6.1.x SMDI module to communicate between the two systems.
Save for one issue, the replacement of the old

Voicemail2 and MWI
We've been testing (aim:frziegler and aim:end1r) the Voicemail2 app for a
few days now, based on a CVS build from Monday, 5/12/03-23:15. Works
good! Thanks Mark!
We seem to have found a bug in the MWI (Message Waiting Indicator) logic.
By simply creating msg0000.txt files in both structures, e.g.:
for extension 4000:
voicemail1: /var/spool/asterisk/vm/4000/INBOX/msg0000.txt

MWI on Zap analog phone not lighting
We are using Bellsouth 8867 phones on our TDM400B FXS lines
(asterisk-1.0.3). It has a "Voicemail" light, which appears to be MWI
(according to the manual it works with voicemail from the telco that
sends a FSK signal). The dialtone stutters when a line has voicemail, so
I know that I have the mailbox setting right in zapata.conf, but the
light doesn't go on. I am also getting

MWI indicator HINT on Snom thru IAX?
I have many remote locations that dial into a central server to retrieve
voicemail via IAX. Outbound calls are handled as SIP calls from a Snom to a
local (to them) Asterisk server that dials the main server thru IAX. I have
trained them to check their voicemail via the emailed WAV file, however some
of them are, how shall I put it, idiots*, and insist that they *have* to
have the MWI indicator

Telco MWI Detection on TDM400 Interface?
I use a TDM400 card to interface with my telco. I used asterisk voice
mail. However, if I'm on the telco line while another call comes in,
obviously it cannot go to asterisk voice mail but instead bounces to the
Telco voice mail.
Is there any means by which I can get asterisk detect the Message
Waiting Indicator (MWI) from the telco? Is there some application or
variable which can be

Adjusting frequency asterisk sends NOTIFY's to ATA's at for MWI.
I'm trying to figure out how Asterisk decides how often it will send SIP
NOTIFY's to an ATA when a voicemail message is waiting for the user on the
server.

apart, then 33 seconds, then 13 seconds, etc. Each time causes a "ring" on
the ATA. I can change the ATA's behavior, but what I'd really

FYI Panasonic Wireless Phone MWI
Last week I asked about MWI indicators on wireless phones that would work
with Asterisk. I sent a message off to Panasonic asking them about it
because in their ads they specifically stated that the indicator works
with and requires phone company voicemail subscription.
The is the model TG5631.
