FW: [Asterisk-Users, Andrew] Will Echo problems EVER be solved, I'm scared
Thank you for the suggestions Andrew. I have not come across some of them
before and will give them a shot. Based on my reading, changing the
motherboard should have minimal impact unless that motherboard and the
TDM400P don't get along (aka. IRQ sharing). I have disabled everything that
is not needed and I do not believe I have any IRQ problems and I am NEVER
wrong ;). Calls are crisp and

Need some clarifications regarding VT-d requirements for PCI passthrough in Xen 4.1
Hello,
I am looking into building a workstation using Xen to host several operating
systems.
Looking at the pci passthrough requirements of Xen4.1 on the
VTdHowTo<http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/VTdHowTo>page, I am a
little puzzled with the fact that only Intel Core2Duo (with
VT-x), Core2Quad, i7 and Core i5 (vPro Brand) CPU''s are supported while
motherboards with the i55x0

Will Echo problems EVER be solved, I'm scare d
dude it's gotta be something with your system. Im using same setup at home
with a TDM22 with no probs. Asterisk@Home 1.5, Compaq Deskpro EN P3 500,
cordless phones. You did a ton more than I did, I basically plugged
everything in and installed a@h.Worked first try.
Hate to say it, but would it be possible to try a different system? Even an
old system as long as it is PCI 2.2.
The big clue

Mandrake 10, Request for comments.
My * is presently running fine on Mandrake 9.2, but Ive been entertaining
moving to Mandrake 10.0 to enjoy the obvious improvement in kernal speed Im
seeing on other 10.0 boxes Ive recently built for other applications. (10.0
is the first implementation of the 2.6 kernal)
Any comments from anyone who's running on 10.0?
IS anyone running * on Mandrake 10.0?
If so, any issues stand out?

KDB+DDB make interrupt storm on MSI motherboards go away it seems
I admit I was scepticle of this suggestion - but it actually seems to
have worked. COmpiling a straight GENERIC kernel with KDB and DDB
included do seem to have made my irq22 interrupt storms go away.
Certainly I have spent some time trying to provoke the problem and not
managed to make it read it's ugly head again.
The thing is though, this doen't make me particularly happy - as I am

Finally cracked the mystery of motherboards with Vt-d support
After contacting Asus, MSI and Gigabyte, this is what I got back.
Only motherboards with the QXX chipsets and certified with the Intel
VPro support the Vt-d virtualization technology.
I''m not sure about MSI though, because this is what I got from their
support: "Almost board could support. Please refer to our website,
http://www.msi.com/product/mb/."
The problem is that

What ever happened to the dkms atheros drivers/
My OQO boxes have the AR5413 wifi chipset, so for the first time in
quite a while, I again need to run madwifi. So I went looking for the
dkms madwifi rpms, but could not find them. They use to be on rpmforge,
as I recall. dkms is there.
So have I lost some memory cells or have these rpms taken a hike?

Motherboard and chipset compatibility
So, having returned from a month's vacation, I'm back to work on attempting
to build a set of small form factor CentOS compatible computers. I've
really tried to do my homework, but this doesn't appear (at first glance)
to be at all easy. It's not made easier by the fact that I have to get it
right the first time (and I haven't built a PC in a decade); the time and
money

Motherboard Selection For TE110P & TDM400P
Hey there,
What recommendations does anybody have as to motherboards known to work
well with the Digium TE110P T1 interface cards and the TDM400P analog
POTS interface cards? We currently make use of the TE110P for our T1
(esf w/ b8zs - not a PRI) and have experienced many issues caused by our
PBX's motherboard. Additionally, we built a server to become our new
PBX, but that machine runs

Will Echo problems EVER be solved, I'm scared
I came into this with my eyes wide open. I have read ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING
there is to be found on the net about avoiding echo problems BEFORE I even
attempted to create a production system. Since lots of people are
apparently using this in production environments now I just assumed that
echo IS avoidable.
As others have recommended, I created a test system with the proposed

Xeon server board for TE405P
I would appreciate if people that have experience with stable Asterisk
and TE405P cards installations on Xeon servers can share what kind of
motherboards and chipset are using. I'm trying to configure a new
Asterisk server with one TE405P on an Intel board with Xeon 3.0Ghz but
not all Intel boards and chipsets works fine with these Digium boards.
Thanks for your help !

chipsets etc to avoid for CentOS 6.x
It's time to purchase hardware again, and I'm going through
the usual "of that which is on the market, what will CentOS run
without leaving new hardware collecting dust for a year"?
I'm looking at a number of commodity-grade machines (ie:
desktop grade will suffice) with reasonably fast CPUs and
able to use at least 8GB each (preferably 32GB). These will

Any recomendations for Motherboards?
What socket AM2 motherboards out there work well with xen (i.e. support >
4G ram, sata and lan chipsets work).
I''m looking to probably run one of the lowpower Athlon 64 X2 4200''s in it.
I''d also like to see atleast 4 ram slots.
Anyone have any recomendations?
Thanks,
Doug

ruff draft
1. First we need to know what type of graphics card you
have. Please do the following at the command window. To get to the
command window do the following
[root at nVidia ~]#lspci -v "note the difference in board manufactures."
These drivers will work on all Aftermarket

Xen on AM2 nForce 590 (Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe)
While I wait for the Xen 3.0 Test CD to download, has anyone has luck
using an Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard (NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI MCP
chipset)? The CPU is an AMD Athlon64 X2 3800+ AM2 w/ 2GB DDR2 533.
The motherboard mostly works under Gentoo using kernel 2.6.18 with the
"noapic" kernel boot option in my grub.conf file. The only major issue

Problems booting on Intel i9x5 motherboards.
Hello,
I'm using Isolinux 3.11 to make a boot image with a variety of 2.6 kernels.
I have two Intel-branded motherboards with i915 and i945 chipsets that
have trouble booting with menu.c32.
If I load the image from the isolinux commandline with a set of append
parameters, it works. The same settings loaded from the menu.c32 causes
the kernel to load and promptly hang.
All I can tell is

Centos 5.0 Intel G33/P35 Chipset Support (Asus P5K-VM, P5KC)
I have 2 new boxes that I cannot use yet because of
problems supporting these newer chipsets in 5.1. Does
anyone know when the CD version of 5.0 x86-64 that has
support for these chipsets be available on any on a
Centos mirror?
Has the support for these chipsets been added to yum
yet?
Here are my latest results with these chipsets and

[AWDwR] Make flash[:notice] go away
Following the tutorial app in Agile Rails, I''m trying to figure out the
best way to get the flash notice to go away after an "Invalid product"
is selected (eg. when a new, valid product is selected). This is after
Task D, Chapter 9, in the 2nd Ed Beta.
I''ve come close to getting to work right, but I think I may still be
