Asterisk & SIP
Good morning all, I'm setting up Asterisk for the first time with no prior PBX experience. I'm following Andy Powell's 'Getting Started with Asterisk' (http://www.automated.it/guidetoasterisk.htm). This is my second time through that document - as I did something weird the first time and really upset it somehow - and I wanted to ask a few general questions of the list.

re : connection issue between Samba 3.X and Windows 2003 Server?
Hello - I've run into a serious issue connecting a Windows 2003 server client to my Samba 3.0.10 server. All other Windows platforms (windows 2000, XP, etc) can correctly connect to my samba server, but Windows 2003 Server complains that the machine is not found. Is this a known issue? I've heard Windows 2003 server changed the encryption scheme with higher security. I have a

Unable to find the source of the error: bad file descriptora
Hi, After a few attempts, I've managed to grab the files from CVS and build it on a rh redora box I've setup especially for Asterisk. Firstly, we're new to the asterisk scene, so please excuse any "lame" questions which may follow.. We're a new voiptalk.org customer. We have purchased the voip phones (budgetone 102's) and set aside a little box to run Asterisk on.

Working with FWD, IPTel, SIPPhone?
I'll admit it. I'm a asterisk newbie (but no stranger to telephony). The setup is simple: two Grandstream BudgeTel 100 phones (SIPPhone specials) on a private segment calling to a Linux box acting as the segment's firewall with a leg on our public network. The phones are setup as SIP/phone1 (x1000) and SIP/phone2 (x1001), respectively (thanks to the Asterisk HOWTO). Getting IAX
