New Windows IAX Client
Announcing a new Windows-based IAX/IAX2 client. Please download it and
give it a try. Let me know about any bugs, and any missing features. I
have yet to come up with a catchy name for it, so at this point it calls
itself IAX Phone. (Suggestions? Non-derogatory suggestions,
preferably).

Iax Client Library Issues? (DIAX, iaxComm, etc.)
Hi,
I seem to be having problems with IAX clients based on the iaxClient
library. I have been working on my own client (an augmentation to the
Call Manager I released last week) and it seems to regularly miss
incoming calls entirely. It also occasionally misses the drop signal
when the remote end drops a call.
Has anybody else seen this kind of behavior? I have tested with my
client, with

NEW Mcafee problem, samba share
After our mcafee ASAP product updated last night, users can not access
samba shares from some applications. I believe this to be mcafee
problem, and am on hold with tech-supp right now.
Here's the problem as I know so far.
Windows Explorer works fine all drives.
SolidWorks cannot access the root of any samba drive.
FrontPage cannot access the root of any samba drive.

Running Asterisk and NAT on the same box?
Has anyone tried installing * on a box with two eth interfaces which is
acting as a NAT box? I have only one IP at this point and I would like
to get * working without all of the NAT issues. My idea is to run * on
my gateway (which is also running the firewall and masquerade services).
All of my UAs (Grandstream + Xten X-LITE + gnophone) will be inside the
NAT screen, and will connect to the *

Virus scan - false positive for 32-bit syslinux.efi in syslinux 6.04-pre?
Not sure if this has been addressed previously; I couldn't find anything in the mailing list archives, at least since December 2016.
In a routine virus scan of a project that includes syslinux, McAfee Virus Scan reported what I strongly suspect to be a false positive in 32-bit syslinux.efi in the syslinux-6.04-pre1.tar.gz distribution. A follow-up search with VirusTotal shows that the same

R and McAfee 8.5
Hi,
I have been working with R for the last year and using the UKFSST package to look at satellite tag track data and SST information. Fpr those not familiar, the package uses the positions estimated by the satellite tags themselves and the associated SST data from servers (in this case, from the University of Hawaii and the NOAA Coastwatch website) for the time preiod to estimate a reasonable

McAfee 8 incompatible with Samba
I've parsed a whole year's worth of postings in this group
and didn't find any previous reference to the problem.
Since I've updated McAfee to version 8 many applications
which open file chooser dialogs report "Access denied"
when trying to open a Samba share, including the users's
own home directory.
At installation one can choose to exclude some apps from

Asterisk Call Manager for Windows 0.0.1 (Alpha)
If anybody is interested, I have an early version of my Call Manager for
Windows application integrated with Asterisk. CMW is an application bar
(like the task-bar) that docks to the top of your desktop window. It
provides the following functions:
1. View Call-Related Information (Caller ID, Call State, Call
Direction)
2. Monitor Status of Asterisk Stations (Channels) -- BLF or "Busy

Error in normalizePath(path) : with McAfee
Dear R People:
I keep getting the "Error in normalizePath(path) :" while trying to
obtain the necessary packages to use with the "Applied Spatial
Statistics with R" book.
I turned off the Firewall (from McAfee) but am still getting the same message.
Does anyone have any idea on a solution please?

WiSIP Firmware Version F?
Greetings,
I purchased a WiSIP at the VON conference and am now trying to configure it
to work with Asterisk. I have read all of the previous postings regarding
the WiSIP and most of the information apparently does not apply to the
version of firmware installed on my phone (version WF.00.0F).
I cannot get the WiSIP to register with my Asterisk box. It leases an IP
from my DHCP server, then

Asterisk capacity
Hi,
I am really interested in the true capacity that Asterisk can handle.
What is the maximum number of users that can be handled by Asterisk on a
standard 2.4G P4 IBM server or similar? Anyone has a clue?
Cheer,
Vincent

NEW Mcafee problem, samba share
I am having this issue, running Fedora Core 2. None of my clients can
access the mapped Samba drives from within MS Office applications like
Outlook 2000 and Word. Running both XP and 2K. Waiting on McAfee to
get back with me. Any ideas or experience you folks have that might
be useful here?

Outline For Asterisk Book - Please Review & Comment
Asterisk Users
In an attempt to help Asterisk move forward, a number of us have decided
to create a book. It would initially be released as an "ebook" that
could be sent to newbies to help them up the rather steep learning
curve. Ultimately I would like to see it published and sold in
bookstores (preferably by O'Reilly & Co.).
Below is the outline for the book. We REALLY

[Off Topic] Managed desktop virus scanner in Samba 3 Enviroment
Hi,
As we are moving away from an NT based enviroment to SAMBA we are
looking for a managed virus scanner for our desktops. Managed means:
1. Remote deployment
2. Updates from a local repository
3. Notification and reporting.
The existing solutions (Symantec, TrendMicro, Mcafee) assume that you
have an NT server. I would much rather have a Linux/Samba based
managment console.
Any ideas/leads?

Problem with Samba and McAfee?
I am having trouble with my Windows XP machine and my Linux machine
(Fedora Core 6) communicating with Samba. My XP machine is running
McAfee Security Center and I think that is what is causing the problem.
Does anyone know of any conflicts?
Regards,
Tom
