Satellite Providers
Hi All, I am investigating the deployment of VoIP/* in Eastern European areas where there is no PSTN infrastructure. As you can understand DSL/Cable connections are a dream. The only option is satellite. Does anyone know of any satellite providers that have low enough/acceptable delays for VoIP? Thanks, Yiannis.

Up to date?
Hi, before you start throwing stones to me let me tell you that I am a bit new to Linux. I downloaded Asterisk from the cvs server on Wednesday 15 July 2004, as described in Andy Powell's "Getting Started with Asterisk" (http://www.automated.it/guidetoasterisk.htm). Thanks Andy! I read about the Asterisk 1.0 RC1, and I would like to download it and install it. Could someone tell

No Ringing.
Dear Asterisk Group. I have two Asterisk servers serving two data/help desk centers, both centers have a near identical setup. However, when connected to one of my data centers, I call a user, I can see on the CLI that the phone is ringing, but I hear no ringing on my SIP soft phone? Has anyone had a similar scenario? How as it resolved. Warm Regards Shad Mortazavi

Subject: Re: X100P Ireland Red Alarm
Hi, I suspected that I the analogue phone should have got a pass through signal when the power was off to the server, unfortunately it doesn't. I kept asking digium support about that but they didn't give me an answer. The problem is how do I identify whether the X100P is incompatibel with the network or faulty without possibly wasting another USD100??? Aaron On Sat, 2004-05-15, Eric

CID not appearing via X100P
Hi Folks, Prior to upgrading my Zaptel sources everything was working fine. I have a X100P connected to my analogue line. The handset port of the X100P is connected to my desk phone's line 2 input. When the analogue line rings I see the CID on my line 2 but not from Asterisk on line 1 via the Cicso ATA. This used to work fine until I upgraded the sources. I get this when watching the

X100P to hardware PBX
I have asterisk successfully dialing out using a X100P over a normal analogue PSTN line. But when I try to dial out over an analogue line that goes via a hardware PBX the call asterisk does not dial. Is there a configuration change I should make ? I am thinking of something like not wating for dial tone.

Hi, I know that this issue has been discused guite a lot, but I haven't managed to get a definite answer. Is those two values supposed to be floats (e.g. 3.5) or integers with the percent symbol (e.g. 20%)? Thanks, Yiannis.

UK X100P installation help
Hi, I've got the latest asterisk@home setup running with SIP. I've been trying to tie it in with the PSTN off and on for a while with no success. I gave up on ISDN and purchased 2 x100p cards from x100p.com. I've got the card installed, the machine can see it. The problems I have at the moment are First time I start up the drivers and asterisk, I can call the pstn number. The

X100P in Switzerland
Hi Does anybody if the X100P works in Switzerland? We can't get a line to PSTN. When I run zttool it shows me always a red alert. I can make and receive calls with an anlog phone plugged in the phone connector. I've compiled and configured the card according to the wiki. Everything seemed to be ok. Is there a way to debug this? Info on UK ISDN30e?
Hi :) My employer is looking to move a call centre to a new office, and has been increasingly frustrated with their legacy PBX (call-logging licensing and hardware upgrade costs). So I've stepped forth as the Open Source Pedant and suggested Asterisk so we can do all our own CallerID / call logging / analyses, and make use of IP Phones / teleworking, etc. The problem begins in that I only

X100P installed OK, after added TDM400P Asterisk would no longer start
Hello I setup Asterisk@Home with purely VoIP and it worked fine. I then added an X100P card so I could call out / take inbound calls via PSTN and that went fine. But I have just added a TDM400P card (specifically a TDM30B) and now problems. Here is some of the output. Any ideas on what I should be looking at next? When I run genzaptelconf -s -d I get lots of erors on screen - bit I can

X100P question
I have just started developing asterisk, and am trying to start simple. I have a X100P device and an S100U device. I am trying to use the examples provided, where I add a few lines to the /etc/zaptel.conf, /etc/asterisk/zapata.conf, and /etc/asterisk/extensions.conf so that I may connect an analog line to the X100P and an analog phone to the S100U. When I dial the analog line, it should ring

X100P Echo Problems..What's going to happen?
I've read and experienced the echo problems with the X100P. Is Digium going to fix the problem or refund our money? I want to see this work because myself and other small companies out there use analog lines. I would trade up to T1 but that requires me to have at least 9 lines. If I did trade up, do the T1 cards work perfectly with no echo at all? I get echo with my directly connected

porting numbers in UK telewest/bt/adept
A client used to use BT isdn30 and ported the numbers to telewest several years ago. Now, the client moved to adept telecom. I *think* adept resells BT products. We got new numbers from adept (bt?) and the old pbx on the telewest lines forwards the calls to the new numbers. On the adept line I got a digium card in an opteron supermicro server. ztcfg gives me over 99.99 pretty much all the time.
