Shared clipboard, drag and drop, Linux <> Wine 1.1.20
Can Wine be set up to allow "drag and drop" between Ubuntu 9.04 Nautilus 2.26.2 file manager and a Windows app running in Wine? The Windows application is the "Yamaha File Utility" v1.1.0 which allows MIDI files to be transferred to a Yamaha CLP-150 Clavinova digital piano. Unfortunately, the software relies on drag and drop for the file transfer. In native Windows, I would

ogg player on a clie
Hi folks, I've been talking with Jack in IRC (mainly in the subversion channel), but he suggested that I pose my vorbis questions here, to the community of experts. I own a Sony Clie PDA, which is a PalmOS-4 device. Sony wasn't patient enough to wait for PalmOS-5, which has a standardized sound API and a new CPU powerful enough to decode audio. Instead, they just stuck a proprietary,

WineOSS hardlock with a Yamaha YMF-744 sound card
When I try to use the wineoss.drv sound driver, Wine hangs up my whole system (as described by me in Wine Bug #2579). From what I have learned, this is caused by a kernel bug, but I can't fix it as I only found Andreas Mohr's patch for SB16-compatible cards (http://lkml.org/lkml/2002/6/16/45), while I'm using a Yamaha sound card (ymfpci.c kernel driver). When I disable the sound in the

I'm install Asterisk and FXO FXS Lite dev kit from Digium everything has installed and I am getting an error message that my sound card is not enabled. I'm using a Dell Optix (whatever). Everything seems to be in order. I connect an analogue telephone to the FXO port? and try to dial. Dial tones work however not dial tone.

Direct DVD-RW access possible?
Hi, I found that my DVD-RW supports LabelFlash/DiskT@2 and after killing the SCSI command filter in the kernel I was able to successfully burn labels on some DVD-Rs with Nero 7 Premium as well as Yamaha's LabelFlash Index Maker from VMWare. Is it possible to access the DVD-RW directly from Wine so I don't have to use VMWare for this task? BTW, LabelFlash Index Maker happily runs with

Direct access to SCSI cdrw
Hello, I tried to install Yamaha cdrw at FreeBSD 5.1. At 4.8 stable all was Ok. Now I have in kernel configuration sym device. But cdrecord shows message "No such file or directory. Cannot open SCSI driver". Maybe I must have /dev/sym0 device or something else? If yes, then how to create it with help of devfs? There are no much info in devfs's manual. -- Oleg Shevtsov

Trouble building package using R in development
Dear List, I'm having considerable trouble setting up my environment (Linux, Fedora 16, Bash) to build and check packages under R Under Development (r61660). I'm doing this to better get a handle on difference in the output from running checks on examples in one of my packages. Note I compiled R Under Development myself The problem I am now having is whenever I try to build my analogue

Dear list, I have been checking my package ('analogue') using R2.13-0-alpha (details of exact svn version appended below) and the R CMD check procedure is generating an error rebuilding a vignette in the package, which raises a NOTE in the check. asking for readers input into the following config...
The company I work for has gotten the go ahead to start dipping its foot into the shallow end of the asterisk pool. The client we will be setting up for currently has an NEC PBX of some sort with 8 analogue lines in. They use lines 1-4 as indial on a rotary group, lines 5-6 as indial for two 1800- numbers (1800 is Australian prefix for freecall), and lines 7-8 as outgoing. There are approx 15

DAHDI - analogue, not seeing ringing (UK)
So made my first forray into 1.4 and DAHDI and hit a problem. (Not convinced this is a DAHDI issue though...) Testing an analogue line and asterisk sees the caller ID being passed, but then fails to detect ringing. A plain old analogue phone plugged in rings just fine. Console output: == Starting post polarity CID detection on channel 4 -- Starting simple switch on
