megaraid problem
Hi, I'm trying to install Centos 4.3 x86 on a PE 1400SC but the install doesn't find any HD's. So then I get the option to load a module, so I choose for the megaraid_mbox module for the LSI LOGIC 4CH PERC but my RAID5 still doesn't get recognised. Had the same problem 2 years ago with FC3 wich was due to the megaraid module wich got obsolete in the 2.6 kernel but somebody filed

Hello, I am running error rate analysis. It is my results below. When I compare aov1 and aov2, X square = 4.05, p = 0.044, which indicates that adding the factor "Congruity" improved the fitting of model. However, the following Z value is less than 1 and p value for Z is 1, which means that "Congruity" is not significant at all. Therefore, these two parts are not consistent,

Making Driver Disks
List, I have attempted to make my own megaraid driver disk for a Dell PowerEdge 2300. The procedure I'm using is detailed at the end of this message. In short, I followed samples that I collected after Googling around. The problem I face is that the CentOS 4 installer can't seem to mount the driver disk after I have created it. It gives no information other than, "Cannot

Help with megaraid_mbox driver
Hi All, I've built a custom CD based on CentOS 4.2. An OOB CentOS 4.2 disk will detect the megaraid (Perc4) card in a Dell 1850/2850, and load properly. My version does not. I have checked, and the original shipping kernel for CentOS contains the same megaraid_mbox driver as the updated kernel that is on my CD. Basically, my CD removed some RPMS, and added others for a custom

problems with samba and Perc/2 RAID
Hi, We recently acquired a Dell PowerEdge 4300 with two PIII 500 Xeons and half a gig of RAM, running RedHat 6.1 out of the box. In addition, it has a PERC2/SC Single Channel RAID card for six 18GB LVD SCSI drives. The problem is that, while we're not doing anything fancy with samba, basic file share stuff, the load seems to spike whenever writes are done. When doing a large file copy,

Busy day today...
What's the procedure for filing bug reports related to kernel panics on CentOS/RHEL? I've just had the following kernel panic on one of the new mailstores (argh!). Would this have to be reproduceable to warrant a bug report? Centos-4 Kernel pannic
Hi all, We are running a new Centos-4 server, and it has kernel panicked on us 4 times in the last month. After the first kernel panic we hooked up a serial console to the server and captured the output in order to have a record of what happens. I've included the error messages from the last time it locked up... but it doesn't really mean much to me. Anybody have any ideas what might be

Centos Kernel 4.7 Compile Help
Hello Everyone, I wanted to recompile the kernel from source. I downloaded the source rpm (kernel-2.6.9-78.0.1.EL.src.rpm) from centos and installed the rpm. In /usr/src/redhat ? I unzipped and untar?d the linuxx-2.6.9 base files. After doing that I wanted to patch the kernel with the numerous patch files that came with the src rpm. The problem that I am having is that a lot of the patch

Problem with Dell Poweredge 1850
All, I seem to be experiencing the same problem that Michal Urbanski talked about in an email dated March 24th with a subject of "hanging dell hardware". Looking through the archives I can not find any resolution to the problem. The specs on my machine are Dell Poweredge 1850 Dual Xeon 2.8s 1gig ram PERC 4e/SI raid controller in mirror configuration with 2 73 gb drives (uses the

Is samba or a kernel bug causing my FC4 server to crash?
I've got a fully updated Fedora Core 4 server crashing hard every week or two. I use Samba via smbmount and autofs to read & delete log files on 17 XP boxs and 6 NT4SP6 boxes as well as a couple other Windows files servers every 5 minutes. The first indication of a problem I get is smbmount stops working, then the server becomes unresponsive to the point where only a power slam will fix

RedHat Node Panic Weekly
See earlier post - May 10th "Node Panic" Can anyone tell me what might be happening here? I have a 3 node cluster running under RH AS 4 (2.6.9-34.ELsmp) with ocfs2 v. 1.2.1. I've upgraded to 1.2.1 as suggested in the previous post, but one or more of my nodes continues to panic weekly: Aug 16 15:29:02 linux96 kernel: (6670,2):ocfs2_extend_file:787 ERROR: bug expression:

install on a Dell4400 perc2 /DC
I got fedora core 4 to install and show me the configured Raid drives. no mean trick let me tell you. However, the platform is unstable and hangs. I tried Centos 4.1 but the raid drives are not identified like most other distros. can i do anything from the fedora install that might allow me to install the centos distro. I would rather not have to go out and buy a new raid card. peter richards

Hi, following system: Dell PE2650, 2 2.4ghz Xeon, 1gb ram, Dell Perc4DC Controller It has EL5 installed, but I wanted to change to Centos because of the missing workstation packages in the entry server repository. The system was redhat up2date until yesterday, so the latest kernel was missing. I changed redhat-release to centos-release packages and the new centos kernel was installed the via

[LLVMdev] types in load/store
Hi, I have a confusion about types used in load/store, (http://llvm.org/docs/GetElementPtr.html#types) says that [...] Furthermore, loads and stores don't have to use the same types as the type of the underlying object. Types in this context serve only to specify memory size and alignment. Beyond that there are merely a hint to the optimizer indicating how the value will likely be used. [...]
