ACI appraisal program "freezes" when accessing SAMBA shares
Hi all,
Our company uses a buggy piece of appraisal software called ACI Rapid
Report. We recently switched from Netware 3.1 to Samba 2.0.4b for
file serving, and since then have been unable to create new documents in
ACI.
Before creating a new document, ACI forms a list of all .aci files in the
"data" directory. Locally, this takes a few seconds. On Netware, it took
about a minute.

RE: ACI appraisal program "freezes" when accessing SAMBA shares
Hi Brian,
I can't help you with your ACI problem, but if you think ACI is buggy, try a software called Appraiser's Toolbox/Clickforms by Bradford Technologies. I've actually used ACI in the past and was very happy with it. I am actually getting ready order it to replace Clickforms. Have you really had that many problems? FYI, I demo'd Alamode, which is supposed to be the

Help requested for Aeris Dive Computer interface
Hi,
I'm attempting to run the Aeris Dive Computer interface (ACI V2.x) using WINE under Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jakalope release on an ASUS 1000HE netbook.
However, it doesn't seem to be working very well.
the install process seemed to work fine. It successfully created an icon under the WINE application for the interface.
On startup of ACI, it says that it cannot read the previous dive

unix_convert cause of windows freeze?
Hello,
I've got an application, ACI Rapid Research for Windows, which is causing
me a ton of problems under SAMBA. When the program goes to create its own
list of valid files to work from, it ends up calling unix_convert on each
file in the directory. The problem is that unix_convert then goes and
calls name_map_mangle() twice for every file in the directory -- and I've
got 3025 files.

smbldap-passwd does not update samba password
I have never heard of ACI before and I really do not know what it is.
In the other hand, what does this have do to with the passwords in Samba?
Obviously, there are many things I do not know about LDAP and Samba but I
have to manage it....

Re: +AFs-Asterisk-Users+AF0- RE: +AFs-Asterisk-Users+AF0- Multi-line, multi-registration phones
Here is an example of a couple of macros that help me where I have a SOHO with a
home phone line and a work phone line. If I pick up line 2 my work line I would
prefer the call I make to go out my office phone line same with if I pick up
line 1 my home phone line I would prefer it go out my home line but want it to
roll if needed. So with this little macro it is possible for that to happen.

Status of Samba/ZFS integration
I''ve tried to set up a SAMBA file server that acts completely identical with a Microsoft Windows 2000 or 2003 one. First of all, the problem with the ACI ordering is simple:
The Microsoft ACI specification imposes that the DENY ACIs are put on top. It can be solved with a simple chmod.
Problem no.2 the Samba NFSv4 ACL module doesn''t interpret owner@, group@, everyone at . While

ACIs are the rules in your directory server that govern what entries and
attributes (such as the samba password) each DN (user) is allowed to
edit. You should have an ACI that allows users to modify their own
password and samba password.

Synchronizing to multiple locations on a single destination serve r
Hi all.
This has been bugging me for quite some time and I haven't found a solution
yet. I was wondering
if anyone has any experience with similar scenarios or/and can tell me how
this process can be
optimized.
We use rsync to synchronize JAR libraries on our remote server. The catch
here is, that the
libraries must go in multiple locations (and not all the locations have all

summary for factors is not very informative
summary() for a factor prints:

it would have been much more useful if it additionally

how to manipulate dput output format
I am reading into Java dput output for a matrix, more specifically for a
file backed big-matrix. I basically need to lift dimnames for a matrix from
dput output. It's no big deal, but the code is very 'hackish' due to the
need to get rid of quotes, endlines, parenthesis, etc. I was wondering if i
could manipulate to an extent dput output with some options that define it,

What windows attributes can I duplicate with rsync?
I'm looking to copy a quality of files from Windows Vista x64 to Windows
7 x64, between systems that are not domain members.
This would be between NTFS file systems.
I have some experience scripting rsync between Unix/Linux systems, so
I'm considering this as an option. But I'm unclear what Windows file
attributes etc. I can expect to keep or lose in such a transfer.
