G729 codec for asterisk
Hi there,
Here at my company we are willing to use the asterisk IVR system.
The problem we are having rigth now is that all our GWs use G729.
I've read that in order to asterisk be able to make transcoding from the GSM
audio files to G.729, it is necesary to purchase a license from digium. Is
this correct?
I've seen that licenses are purchased on a per-channel basis. Could

meetme application
Hi there,
I know this question is kind of stupid. But, I don't know anywhere
else to ask. I've received some answers when I asked about the need of having
a zaptel interface to make the meetme application work, that said that it was
better to have a real hardware then the zaptelrtc software modules.
So, my question is, would any of the following cards work with the meetme

H323 - SIP Interoperability
Hi there,
I would like to communicate H323 IP phones with SIP phones. My H323
phones are registered to a gnugk GK, and the SIP phones are registered to a
asterisk SIP proxy.
I could not create a dialplan that works. Inside my extensions.conf file I
created the following two entrances:
exten => 4,1,Dial(SIP/4)
exten => 5,1,Dial(SIP/5)
This allows SIP phones call each other.

Registering Asterisk to Lucent's MVAM Gatekeeper
Hi there,
I am trying to register asterisk to a Lucent's MVAM GK. It is not
registering to the GK with both h323 channels(chan_h323 and oh323).
The problem is that if I set the GK(in asterisk) through the GK's IP, the GK
answers with GCF without it's GK ID, and after that it does not answer to the
RRQ, because the RRQ message has no GK ID.
And when I set the GK through

IVR with chan_h323 module
Hi there,
I have the following scenario:
I have a GK that controls my H323 GWs. And, I am needing an IVR royalty-free
system. More than an IVR, it's only something that should play a sound file
depending on the called digits.
So, I wanted to use asterisk as my IVR. So, I've installed asterisk with the
chan_h323 module and used the Playback comand in my extensions.conf

Backgroundrb-devel Digest, Vol 24, Issue 7
Hi, all. Just wondering if anyone has tried using the Paperclip file
upload plugin with Backgroundrb. My current implementation uses
attachment_fu - I save the file initially to the file system without
generating thumbs, then a bdrb process picks up that file, generates
thumbs, and saves to S3. This works fine and dandy, the only hitch is
I want to save image metadata in the same table

testing asterisk on FXS lines
I am configuring an asterisk server and I want to test the incoming
configuration with my FXS handsets.
I have the FXS lines able to call eachother and they can connect out
the FXO lines.
I changed the context for the FXS lines to "incoming" so that they
would be able to test the setup for incoming calls.
For the incoming context I have:
[incoming]

Feature request: "database show" from manager API
Hi,
In ASTDB, I've got a rather long list of entries like:
/FamilyA/Key1 Value1
/FamilyA/Key2 Value2
/FamilyA/Key3 Value3
...
Instead of sending several DBGet queries (and parsing every response), I'm
wondering if a single "database show" or "database show family" query could
be implemented.
Alternative if to use ssh ("asterisk -rx "database show

Manager command that equal to database show CFIM
Hi!
Probably me that cannot read the manual...
I am trying to get all Keys that belongs to a certain Family
from the manager interface. Can just get single values for example:
Action: DBGet
Family: CFIM
Key: 0317998975
I was looking for something like "Action: DBShow Family: CFIM".
Any one has some smart way to implement it or did I just miss
some stuff...

Asterisk Database
My setup : Trixbox 2.6.1 & TE410P running well .:
1. I need to store the CallerId of the PSTN caller with his language preference so that next time he is played the prompt in his language that he chose the first time. What would be better - storing his number in the Asterisk DB and using Dbput and DBget ? or storing it in MySQL from the dial plan and quering it everytime to see the callers

Outbound Routing does not use Multiple Trunks
Hello,
I have a TDM400 and currently have 2 of the ZAP Trunks configured
on it. Zap/1-1 and Zap/2-1. I am Running Asterisk@home Version 2.4
with AMP version 1.10.010
In my Outbound Routing I have the Trunk Sequence set up so that 0 is
Zap/1-1 and 1 is ZAP/2-1 What I see is that when Trunk Sequence 0 is
full, it does not open Trunk Sequence 1. I have found that this is true
even if I

Old DBGet/DBPut vs. new Set(var=${DB(...
Hello
I upgraded to CVS head yesterday (due to the lack of zaptel drivers
working with 2.6.10)
And noticed that now DBGet and DBPut have been deprecated in favour
of the new Set/DB one.
In the UPGRADING.txt in Asterisk it says:
* The applications DBGet and DBPut have been deprecated in favor of
functions. Here is a table of their replacements:

Testing null values: ast_yyerror(): syntax error
OK, I'm going nuts here trying to correctly identify null values,
specifically when callerID info is not available.
FYI, I'm running Asterisk CVS-HEAD-08/17/04-13:08:53, and Bison 1.875a
(debian Sid).
A snippit of my dialplan looks like this:
exten => s,1,SetCIDNum(${CALLERIDNUM})
exten => s,2,NoOp,${CALLERID}
exten => s,3,DBGet(temp=idiot/${CALLERIDNUM}) ; Is the person calling
