CentOS4 and older megaraid
Release notes say no support for the RAID card in a box I just picked
up...is there no hope for this box running 2.6 kernel?
http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/enterprise/RHEL-4-Manual/release-
notes/as-x86/
The kernel shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 includes the new
megaraid_mbox driver from LSI Logic, which replaces the megaraid driver.
The megaraid_mbox driver has an improved design,

Help with megaraid_mbox driver
Hi All,
I've built a custom CD based on CentOS 4.2. An OOB CentOS 4.2 disk will
detect the megaraid (Perc4) card in a Dell 1850/2850, and load properly.
My version does not. I have checked, and the original shipping kernel
for CentOS contains the same megaraid_mbox driver as the updated kernel
that is on my CD. Basically, my CD removed some RPMS, and added others

slow file creation
Hi all,
I'm troubleshooting an ocfs2 performance problem where creating files in
a directory containing ~180k files is taking significant time to
complete. Sometimes creating an empty file will take >100 seconds to
complete. This is a three node cluster. I'm currently running OCFS2
1.2.3-1. Are there any changes in a recent version that may address
this issue? What should I look

megaraid problem
Hi,
I'm trying to install Centos 4.3 x86 on a PE 1400SC but the install doesn't
find any HD's.
So then I get the option to load a module, so I choose for the megaraid_mbox
module for the LSI LOGIC 4CH PERC but my RAID5 still doesn't get recognised.
Had the same problem 2 years ago with FC3 wich was due to the megaraid
module wich got obsolete in the 2.6 kernel but somebody filed

Centos 4.0 (Final) and Dell 1950 with SAS controller
Hi All,
I have an "appliance" cd which uses CentOS 4.0 (Final) which I am trying to load on a new Dell 1950 server with a SAS driver controller. During the install it fails to find any disks to load to. I got the drivers from Dell and dd the correct one to a floppy, boot from the appliance cd and enter linux dd at the prompt. I load the driver in the install and it still fails to find

CentOS 4 i386 drbd / heartbeat - Enhancement Update (Extras Only)
We are pleased to add drbd (with integrated heartbeat) to the CentOS
extras repository.
DRBD is a block device which is designed to build high availability
clusters. This is done by mirroring a whole block device via (a
dedicated) network. You could see it as a network raid-1.

RE: Compiling legacy LSI megaraid drivers (Linux 2.6.11)with xen 2.0.7?
Have you checked the compile time in the boot messages to see you''re
actually booting the kernel you think you are?
The compile warnings are nothing to do with Xen.

Compiling legacy LSI megaraid drivers (Linux 2.6.11) with xen 2.0.7?
Hi all,
I''ve been using Xen for a while and I am trying to install it onto a
Dell Poweredge 2950. The 2850 uses a PERC4/Di raid on motherboard,
which requires the LSI Legacy SCSI Raid driver to be compiled into the
2.6.11-xen0 kernel. I''ve been recompiling the kernel by:
1. Go into the linux-2.6.11-xen0 directory. Select the driver using
"make ARCH=xen

Upgrading from 1.0.9-9 to 1.0.13-1
Hello All,
I am currently running ocfs 1.0.9-9 with
kernel 2.4.21-4.Elhugemem (RHEL3) and 9i RAC (9.2.0.4).
Is there any big concerns I need to be aware of before
upgrading to ocfs-1.0.13-1 and kernel 2.4.20-31.9?
TIA,

prob boot xen-4 2.6.32 megaraid
Hallo,
I have to try install xen-4 on dell pe2850 (Raid: perc4).
booterror: megaraid Couldn''t register IRQ 7!
But megaraid works with linux-2.6.18.8.
Enclosed my tests:
1. Compile xen-4.0 + linux-2.6.32 snapshot (Jeremy) from [8] (test 1).
cd /usr/src/xen-b29254c
make all modules modules_install 2>&1 | tee make.out
cp -p ./arch/x86/boot/bzImage /boot/vmlinux-2.6.32

MegaRAID driver on domain 0
Hello,
I''m trying to install Xen3 on a server, but I can''t make the MegaRAID
driver work.
I''ve installed Debian Sarge, the stock kernel (2.6.8.2) works perfectly
with the hardware. The SCSI RAID driver is megaraid.
Hardware is :
- IBM eServer xSeries 330 server
- Dell PowerEdge RAID II controller
I''ve recompiled the xen dom0 kernel (2.6.12.6) to include

megaraid sas driver failing in Xen-3.4 unstable version
On Xen-3.4 (unstable version), I have created CentOS HVM guest & WS2K8 HVM guest and dedicated MegaRAID SAS controller but I am not able to see the disk which is connected to MegaRAID SAS controller when I do fdisk -l (vtd support is enabled in Xen).
Looks like the pci device(MegaRAID SAS controller) is getting dedicated successfully as I can see the device in the list of pci devices shown by

the 2308 isn't actually a megaraid, its a simple SAS HBA that has an
optional raid mode IF its flashed with IR firmware... this only supports
raid 0/1/10. I always(!) flash these with the IT firmware that
turns them back into a

LSI MegaRAID system status
Dear list,
I have inherited a CentOS-5 box with a LSI Sata Raid controller.
It is configured as a RAID5 w/hot-standby. My concern is that
I have no present means of determining the RAID status w/o
downing the system and going into the bios to get status. If
a disk has failed and brought the standby disk online, I would
like to know about it, the day it happens by seeing it in syslog
or getting
