TDMoE Configuration problems
Hi all,
I'm having some problems getting TDMoE setup for the 1st time. I have a
TE405P installed in the main server with an ethernet cross-connection
to the secondary machine.
(Yes, I know about IAX2 but I want to use TDMoE to simulate using T1s.)
I'm using -HEAD from yesterday.
On the main machine
/etc/zaptel.conf:
loadzone = us
defaultzone=us

Stable clock with 2.6 and without Digium hardware.
Anybody sucessfully got stable 1000Hz clock without Digium harware and kernel 2.6?
We need to consult some peoples how to clock asterisk stable with exactly 1000 Hz without much kernel/drives patching/tweaking.
Some test results we made so far:
2.6 with digium card - stable 1000 Hz.
2.6 with ztdummy - uses RTC and the clock is 1024, not 1000.
2.6 with some Realtime kernel patch - provides stable

TDMOE + kernel badness
Anybody have any issues running tdmoe on kernel 2.6+?
I've got Suse 9.1 + 9.2 running 2.6.5 and 2.6.8 respectively, and when I
enable dynamic spans between them, both boxes dump something similar to:

TDMoE - best signalling method?
I'm just experimenting with dynamic spans using TDMoE, which looks
ideal for clustering Asterisk boxes with low latency (i.e. 1ms for TDMoE
compared with 20ms for IAX).
When using normal E1s and T1s, I've always used ISDN signalling: either
EuroISDN or NI2. So naturally I tried that over the TDMoE. I've found
that I get a lot of HDLC errors and the D-channel is up and down like

Experiences with FoneBridge2 / TDMoE?
I'm scoping out HA for a relatively simple Office/Call Center PBX. Current
setup uses a TE412P with 4 PRI our telco with SIP hard/soft phones for
users. Some outbound also goes to a SIP provider.
Active/Active looks to be too much hassle for an installation this size, so
we're looking at adding an extra * in an active/passive configuration with
Linux-HA in between them.
Does anyone

modprobe -r ztd-eth locks up machine...
Hi,
I have just begun working with TDMoE running between 2 fiber nics the
dynamic span works great. In my main asterisk box's startup file I just
'modprobe tor2', then start asterisk. The zaptel, ztdynamic & ztd-eth
modules all load by themselves when tor2 is loaded. If I stop asterisk then
'modprobe -r tor2' the tor2 module is removed but the other three remain.
If I

TDMoE
In all the information on Asterisk it takes about TDMoE to link asterisk
servers together. Is this IAX??? How would I use TDMoE.
Maybe my first question should be, What is it???

TDMoE questions
Hello,
I want to link several * boxes together. Some of them are dedicated as
"user" servers (SIP and IAX clients connect to them) and some are used
as PRI servers (where the PRIs are hooked onto).
I think TDMoE is the only channel type where you can group different
Interfaces into a single group.
E.g. for using Dial(ZAP/g1/12345), I think you cannot group different
IAX accounts

Multiple E1s over TDMoE?
When I was trying to run mutiple E1s over TDMoE, the zaptel would
drivers complain about too little memory, whenever I added more than 31
channels. Requesting 62 channels in a dynamic span gave me
... span creation failed: Cannot allocate memory
upon loading the zaptel drivers.
How would you go about running, 8 or 16 say, E1s over TDMoE? Would you
create multiple dynamic spans or just one large

TDMoE and callerID
I've been experimenting with the zaptel TDMoE stuff and I've got it all
working. Calls go from one asterisk box to the other, with no issues,
except they don't bring the callerID along with them. I tried the e&m
signalling from the wiki and I thought maybe that had something to do with
it, so I just changed it to half fxsks and fxoks and that didn't help me
any, I still

TDMoE emulates a T-1= Is there a product to simulate a PRI trunk? (Robert Goodyear)
Robert,

TDMoE emulates a T1. ;)
Once the TDMoE link is up, Asterisk just sees 24-lines
that appear to be a T1 instead of having to deal with
all of the complexities of VoIP.
This is useful, since probably 75% of the utility of
VoIP is really just the fact that it can run over a
network.
It's also handy because it

Fw: TDMoE over bonded NIC's
I am planning to configure * box A with PSTN interface to route faxes to *
box B (running spandsp) over TDMoE. I am using 2xGb bonded NIC's for
connection between servers.
Was wondering
- does anybody have experience with TDMoE over bonded interface - ie. does
it work ok?.
- does anybody have feedback using this scenario for fax?
another question, perhaps someone knows what's the

latest cvs == broken tdmoe
Hello,
I've been using TDMoE accross 2 * boxes for months. It was working well,
but * would crash when anyone would try to connect via h.323. So, I got
the latest CVS release and compiled without h.323 support. After I made
and installed the latest CVS the TDMoE channels stopped working.
They have been working great (especially after we got echo cancel working
them, thanks Mark) and the

Applications of TDMoE
Hi All,
Please bear my ignorance but what is TDMoE used for? Illustrations with
practical applications, scenarios or set ups will be most appreciated.
Thanks

TDMoE and codecs
If I have a system with 1 machine to handle incoming H.323 calls and then
multiple machines to distribute them to T1 ports over TDMoE, where does
the codec translation take place? Does it take place in the master system
or does it take place in each of the slave TDMoE systems?
Also, any idea how many concurrent G.729 calls a system like this would
handle?

TDMoE or IAX?
Hi all,
Information on this topic seems a little scarce, so I thought I'd try
the list....
Apart from the the coolness factor can anyone explain to me in what
situation one would use TDMoE rather than IAX for communication
betwwen 2 Asterisk servers?

Echo Cancellation, TDMoE fails, X100P works
We have been pretty much able to solve our echo problems, except for
the primary mode in which we desire to operate our system.
See system diagram at bottom.

TDMoE Question
Just a Question. I would like to know if TDMoE follows specifiaciones of
TDMoIP RAD protocol that says that there is a compression of 16/1 when
you do TDMoIP.

Number of TDMoE Channels?
I was trying to establish a TDMoE span of 4 channels between two Asterisk
servers. Machine A has a T100P to our PBX. Machine B has no Zaptel
hardware. With 4 channels (e&m signalling) the red alarm never clears, and
eventually machine A panics. With 24 channels, the TDMoE span seems to work
perfectly. Is this hardcoded somewhere? I don't really need a full 1.544
Mbps between my two
