Please help with Cyrilic fonts
Hi
I'm trying to get Rosetta Stone software working under Wine, and actually it seems fine, apart from one thing:
On the Russian language lessons, the font displayed is English-type, rather than Cyrillic. That's no good! It's working fine on my VirtualBox XP setup.
I have copied all the fonts from XP and Vista installations, to no good effect. I have also tried winetricks

Problems starting wine...
I'm hoping someone can help me out with this...
I've been running the Wine package in Debian/Woody for quite a while
now, and have been able to run most of the windows programs I want to.
However, for some reason wine just stopped working for me. Here is the

After spending a lot of time saying numbers and dates, the Asterisk I18N project now targets

for some languages and doesn't work for a lot of languages.

Extending type list: names and inherited methods issue
Hi,
I want to extend the type list, but it looks like the names are not
handled properly (in the show method), not the [ method. See below for
code example.
I imagine this comes from the S3/S4 mixing, but I would like to
understand and the recommended work around (that avoid redefining all
the list methods [, $, etc...).
Thank you.

nls not accepting control parameter?
Hi
I want to change a control parameter for an nls () as I am getting an error
message "step factor 0.000488281 reduced below 'minFactor' of 0.000976562".
Despite all tries, it seems that the control parameter of the nls, does not
seem to get handed down to the function itself, or the error message is
using a different one.
Below system info and an example highlighting the

Cryptic error from stargazer
Dear All,
I had done an automatic upgrade of my Debian 10 system which had also
upgraded R.
I reinstalled the stargazer package and the error went away.
Query : Do I need to reinstall all packages with each upgrade of R ?
Best,
Ashim

First call to constructor fails (R.oo)
Hi all,
I'm trying to do some object-oriented programming in R using the R.oo
package.
Right from the start I encountered a strange (at least for me) problem. I
define a new class/constructor based on the R.oo documentation.
However the first attempt to create an object fails:
=== Code: ===
library(R.oo);
setConstructorS3("MyClass",function(param) {
print(param);
