[Fwd: Re: [R-downunder] Beware unclass(factor)] (PR#9641)
It really is unclear what is claimed to be a bug here. But see
https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-devel/2007-May/045592.html
for why the bug is not in R: your old and new data do not match.
Your fit is to a category.
[The problem with the web interface to R-bugs was reported last week: it
is being worked on.]

[R-downunder] las with stripchart
Hi Ross -
I believe I was wrong in thinking that passing via the ...
list to stripchart() was ever allowed. Here are patches:
Add ... to the argument list
Add, at the beginning of the function:
pars <- list(...)
There are two calls to axis(). Modify these to:
axis(1, at = at, labels = names(groups), las=pars$las)
axis(2, at = at, labels = names(groups), las=pars$las)

Call dropped 100% of time when incoming IAX routed to outgoing CAPI
Good day,
The unusual thing about this problem is that it doesn't occur just during a
CAPI call, or just during an IAX/SIP call. Only during IAX/CAPI
I'm having some trouble with the CAPI interface and it only occurs when a call
comes in on an IAX channel and goes out the CAPI interface.

2007 New Zealand Open Source Awards
Anyone using CentOS to do open source things in New Zealand?
If so ... nominate yourself here for the 2007 New Zealand Open Source
Awards.
The best I can tell ... New Zealanders are the organizations / people
they want for nominees. The CentOS Project has no (to my knowledge)
developers in New Zealand, but if some of the organizations there are
using the product, maybe they can nominate

Converting Fortran or C++ etc to R
I'm going to try my hand at converting some Fortran programs to R. Does
anyone know of any good articles giving hints at such tasks? I will post
a selective summary of my gleanings.
Cheers, Murray

New Zealand indications.conf
Hi Vic,
I hit that same problem! My SIP phones would sound okay when I made
changes to indications.conf but incoming calls in to my TE410P had their
own thing going on!
Have a look at the zaptel source files, there's one called zonedata.c.
You'll see the au settings... replace what's there with this:
{ 1, "au", "Australia", { 400, 200, 400, 2000 },

How to solve A'A=S for A
It is not clear to me that one can. If the singular value decomposition
of A is the triple product P d Q', then the singular value decomposition
of A'A=S is Q d^2 Q'. The information about the orthonormal matrix P is
lost, is it not?

Just trying my luck here but are there others in the list lurking that down under in Sydney? I'm happy to make something happen if there's at least *one* other person in Sydney. :)
