Incoming voicemail and dialtone
I have a problem with voicemail recording dialtone on hangups. From time to time, callers hang up without leaving a massage, so Asterisk records around 100 seconds worth of dialtone instead. I've seen this off and on for almost 9 months now, it's currently happening with 1.0.2 on Linux 2.6.9. My Asterisk box has a X100P connected to Verizon and IAX service through NuFone. I have

T1 multiplexer (or ?) for failover in large installation
Hi, Please forgive my terminology, still a bit new to T1s and such. I'm looking for a way to have 5 T1s from a carrier terminate into some type of box (multiplexer?), then be able to plug 7 asterisk servers into that box (each with single port T1 card) and be able to have 2 * servers go down at any given time and not actually have the carrier see that anything has happened. Obviously if a *

T1 multiplexer (or ?) for failover in largeinstallation
Just use a cisco with 5 T1 ports and have everything over IP use ultra monkey to load balance your asterisk boxes. I have found this works very well. .o-------------------------------------------------------o. Brian Fertig NOC/Network Engineer Planet Telecom, Inc. Voicemail message is dialtone
Hello all, I have one Asterisk 1.4.21 system connected to a North American POTS line. Normally hangup detection works fine, and Asterisk hangs up properly if you are talking to a caller and they hang up; but occasionally a call comes in (typically from a US telemarketer) where the caller hangs up just as voicemail recording is starting, and you get a voicemail recording of dialtone (then

strange sip behavior (looping back to my own extension vm)
Hello- I am currently testing with a carrier that seems to be having some trouble around toll-free (800 number) access. While a problem, its the resulting behavior that I'm finding disconcerting. When I dial an 800#, I get the following response: -- Executing Macro("SIP/2700-e10b", "carrier-out|18005558355|70|r") in new stack -- Executing

voicemail scenario
Hi all, i need help to implement a voicemail scenario. What i am trying to do is the following. user X dials a direct access for user Y voicemail and is asked to enter a number (e.g 12345678) and then leaves a message. Then asterisk sends a notification with attachement. The problem is that i need the number entered (e.g 12345678) in the subject. Is that possible. thx in advance.

External access to voicemail
in my setup i have several users with DID lines coming in from various sip/iax providers. within our old phone system, a user could call their own DID line, then hit the * key when they hear their voicemail greeting and be prompted for their password. is there any way this could be replicated within asterisk? i'm having trouble figuring it out since it steps through things sequentially,

: Re: ITSP failover for PRI
Hi, I still have the same problem trying to configure ITSP failover in extensions.conf for a connected PRI. Any comments thoughts or direction would be greatly appreciated. I sympathize with wanting inbound DID failover. If we have a client with multiple DIDs we will spread them across two or three ITSPs so that all inbound connectivity will not be lost if one of them has an issue. I

Channel bank problem via long cable
I've got a Digium TE405P feeding three Carrier Access AB-II units located in three separate suites of the complex my company resides in. I've had one AB-II connected over about 15' of cable and running for several weeks now, and it seems to be perfectly happy. Over the weekend, I added two more AB-IIs, one in each of the other two suites. The second unit is about 150 cable feet away

X100P: Can I detect/react to CLASS "you got voicemail" signals?
The subject says it all... I have an X100P and I have (for now anyway) Bell Canada's Call Answer which will notify you through one of those nifty CLASS signals that you either do or do not have voicemail. This is not only a "stuttering dialtone" but some actual signal passed so CLASS-aware phones can detect it and flash their message waiting indicator. I'd like to detect

detect telco voicemail stutter-tone
AFAIK, this is not possible - but I'll throw it out there anyhow... I subscribe to telco voicemail, for the event that all my pstn lines are in use. Telco gives me a stutter-tone dialtone when I have a message waiting. Can a Zap card detect this stutter-tone and perform some action? I'm using TDM400P+FXOs and SIP devices. Thanks
