Shared Line Appearance - Aastra 55i - Does it work?
Does anyone have Shared (bridged) Line Appearance working in Asterisk 1.4?
Specifically with the Aastra 55i.
Specifically, I am using the Aastra 55i with the expansion module.
We want to see if other handsets are being used. (BLF) Getting BLF to work
would be a great start. It sounds like setting up the hints properly will
achieve this. right? Not totally sure how this should be configured.

GXP-2000 and Shared Line Appearances
I have a client with 20 GXP-2000s. Everything seems to be working
fine. However, after a couple of weeks of use, the client is having a
hard time adjusting to the new IP based phone systems and only misses
one feature from their old Lucent system.
That is, they had 8 analog lines before and all their old Lucent
phones showed a button for each line. So, it was easy for anyone to
say,

Multiple Line Appearances / Why use this?
I apologize for the double post. I am curious as to
what the usefullness is of the multiple line
appearance feature on Polycom phones. I setup our
phones to register one line per extension but I hear
the IP501's can do three line appearances. Why and
how could this feature be applied?
Thanks again all.

Bridged-appearances
Has anyone figured out how to mimick a traditional bridged-appearance? My
guys like the ability to put a call on hold on line "3" and it's the same
call on line "3" on everyone else's phone.

Line appearances
I am trying to get an understanding of how line appearances work
like on the cisco 7960 phones.
Is there a wiki somewhere about how this works?
Also, the 7960 phones let you register more than one ext.
Why would you want more than one or is this connected to line
appearances?
Is there a way to have phones use more than one codec, say
use g.711 to talk with * and g.729 to talk with another

Shared Call and Bridged Line appearances on Polycom IP501
Greetings,
I am trying to get either of the above features to work with *, but
can't seem to get it quite right. If anyone has them working, I'd
sure appreciate an extract from the relevant config files.
Or, maybe I'm tilting at windmills, and * doesn't support them - in
which case, the underlying business need is to provide the one
incoming call on more than one

Multiple Line Appearances
Has anyone successfully implemented concurrent appearance of the same PBX
extension on multiple SIP phones?
When using Cisco 7960s under call manager, you can have several phones with
the same line appearance, but the first user to seize a line makes it
inaccessible to other phones.
Under SIP operation it seems as though this is not possible, but we don't
see group ringing definable for

asterisk PLAR
Does anyone know if asterisk supports PLAR (Private Line Auto Ringdown).
The Oreilly (Asterisk: Future of Telephony) book mentions it in passing
saying that all you need to enable it is to set immediate=yes in
zapata.conf. Has anyone implemented this in brokerage trading
environments?
Thanks in advance.

Question setting up a "bat phone" extension.
Basically, I am looking to set up an extension which will be used as a "help-line".
I want it to function kind of like the bat phone from the old Batman series,
where Commissioner Gordon would pick up the extension in his office and it
would ring the phone back at Wayne's mansion. Is there a way to duplicate
this functionality with Asterisk?
I just need asterisk to auto-dial an

Newbie with questions
I have an existing Meridian PBX system that I am looking at replacing with Asterisk for the multi-office features. One of the many areas that I am unclear on is if we can use the existing phones from the old PBX system? Some are Meridian M7310 and some are Norstar M7208 models.
They each support multiple lines with a multi-line display, but I haven't seen anything on this list about sporting

Disa not fully bridging outbound call
Hello,
I have a situation where a remote worker dials in to the asterisk server, enters
the "secret code", then dials out via Disa on a PRI. This was all working great
until this morning. Now the calls is placed out, connected but there is no
voice from/to either phone. This is what shows on the CLI when the calls is
bridged at a verbose of 4 and a debug of 1:

More Polycom IP501 questions
I am starting to get the hang of this, I think. These are more
implementation questions; "is this a proper/good way of using/doing this"
kind of questions.
The IP501 has three line appearances. I have learned that shared line
appearances cannot place calls, only receive them. They're indicated by the
"half telephone" icon beside the button. Private line

Uniden UIP-200 Multiple line appearances
Hi -
I'm wondering if any has experience with the Uniden UIP-200 phones.
The product info says that the 8 led buttons at the top are all
programmable. Can they be programmed as separate line appearances (ala
Snom 200, Cisco 7960, Zultys Zip4x4, etc)? In other words - is the
phone capable of multiple SIP registrations?
Also, the post about these phones at voip-info.org mentions some

Analog Phones with Status Light Indicators
I am currently a new asterisk user and new to telephony in general. I
have been looking around to implement a solution with asterisk that has
many of the nice features of a proprietary PBX for a small office. The
features that I am looking for that I haven't been able to find any
information on are:
- status light indicators for which incoming line in ringing
- status light indicators for

Bridged line appearance
So are there any plans for bridged line appearance support in Asterisk? The
new Linksys SPA9000 supports it. A lot of other VoIP systems from Nortel,
Sylantro etc. supposedly support it. Seems to me that Asterisk needs to
get on the bandwagon or be relegated to call centers, specialized voicemail
applications, and phone chat businesses. It's not needed for companies used
to PBX's but

Polycom IP 600
I am getting ready to install Asterisk and I was looking into the Polycom
IP600 phones. I spoke with Polycom sales to verify the multiple line
appearance and they said it would work. More specifically, if lines 1-3 all
contain the same SIP registration info, the Polycom will only send out 1 SIP
registration to the server and then handle the calls ringing on multiple
lines.
I was wondering if

SLA Appearance between 2 Cisco 7960's (SIP)
Has anyone had any success with getting SLA going between 2 SIP phones?
(Particularly a set of Cisco 79xx's) The SLA document that comes with
the asterisk source is about as clear as mud.
Does anyone have a working sip.conf, sla.conf, and extensions.conf that
I can use for reference?
The part I'm most confused about is how to build the lines in sip.conf
and how the phones should
