Busy message on ISDN cards?
Hi all, I'm new to asterisk and not too knowledgeable on ISDN, so please be gentle :) I have a dual-channel Eicon Diehl Diva card in a Debian Woody box with kernel 2.4.27, connecting to a Telstra (Australia) Onramp Home Highway ISDN line. I'm pretty certain the card and line both work since they've been used in this machine for PPP before this (but with an older kernel with DoV

(euro)ISDN: complete silence / can't hear a word.
Hello, I just got my isdn-card working together with i4l and asterisk. Everything seems to be working fine: I can accept calls coming from the outside and I can dial out. Even setting the msn works like charm but my problem is that I cannot hear a word. There's complete silence in both directions. Any idea what could be the cause? ISDN connection problem (i4l, not asterisk)
Sorry for a slightly off-topic question, but I'm getting desperate. I tried to use asterisk to talk w/ ISDN line and tracked the problem to i4l. I have a Diva PCI 2.02 (S/T) card and am running RH8 w/ 2.4.20 kernel (first version that supports the 2.02 w/ hisax driver). The switch is a 5ESS running NI-1 protocol. The card sync's up and reports other traffic on the line, but fails to

CAPI not installed, after changed from i4l to CAPI
I had unexpected hangups from my asterix box using the i4l driver. (SIP <-> SIP calls worked execellent, but SIP<->ISDN didn't.) Then I changed the i4l driver in modem.conf with the chan_capi from jungham. (http://www.junghanns.net/asterisk) I followed his instructions in the INSTALL file, and first encountered some errors compiling it. It help by deinstalling several

Eicon DIVA PCI ISDN cards (not server) work with asterisk!
I just wanted to let you know that it's possible to use Eicon DIVA PCI 2.01 ISDN cards (not "server" divas) with asterisk. First thing to do is to load the module. If you have two of these cards, you should do it like that: modprobe -v hisax protocol=2,2 type=11,11 And now you can have up to 4 incoming calls with two cards (try calling yourself and see if anything gets into

Initializing two ISDN cards in isdn4linux
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello! After LOTS of research on this list and internet in general I managed to get an old Teles PCI card working with Asterisk throught ISDN4Linux. No echos, no delays, simply perfect -- electronic poetry ! :) eheheheheh I just didn't get it to work with CAPI and "chan_capi" but, since isdn4linux is doing such a good job, I'll

some EICON Diva 4BRI questions
Hi! I have some (short) question about the Eicon DIVA (V-)4BRI cards I want to have (short) answered before buying the DIVA card. I know there are several Eicon guys active on the list, thus I ask on the list instead of directly to Eicon so that all other will benefit as well. 1. Do Eicon DIVA (V-)4BRI cards support TE and NT mode? 2. Can the clock (master/slave) be configured independent

Eicon DIVA PCI ISDN cards (not server) work withasterisk!
Hello Marc, Could you post the install details for the Diva PCI? I have a Diva Pro PCI 3.0 and I am looking to get it working... I am running Debian Testing. So far it appears there are a few things floating around but I am not certain which direction to go. I know I need to load the firmware first. I did manage to load the modules ok. [Fwd: Eicon Diva 2.01 S/T PCI quality problems]
Hi all, I'm experimenting with Asterisk on linux using an Eicon Diva 2.01 S/T PCI card. I'd set up the card using the hisax driver and isdn4linux (titled as "Old ISDN4Linux (obsolete)" in the 2.6.12 kernel. I can make SIP calls and outgoing phone calls as well, but gathered a few problems on my way: 1. Plain SIP calls using softphones on windows clients work fine not counting

Answer App hanging in I4L
Hi, Anyone using ISDN4Linux (Eicon Diva Hisax ) card. If yes, please help me out. After configuring extension.conf and modem.conf I could make outward calls correctly from gnophone and kphone. Still the inward call to the configured MSN is correctly reaching Asterisk and also to the configured Context. But the issue is, it was hanging on 'Answer' application and throwing out

Anyone using National ISDN (NI-1) BRI under Linux?
I have a North American BRI configured as National ISDN (NI-1) on an SBC (Nortel?) switch. SBC calls this "FastTrak ISDN", and it's surprisingly inexpensive -- less than two POTS lines. I've been trying to find an inexpensive PCI interface solution to connect this to Asterisk as voice lines. I prefer ISDN BRI over POTS lines because of the improved signalling, fast dialing,

isdn4linux, NETjet, chan_modem help needed
I'm trying to get a basic Asterisk configuration together for ISDN incoming / outgoing calls. I have two Cisco 7905g phones working (at least talking to each other) and have purchased a NETjet-S PCI ISDN card for routing calls to / from ISDN. The state I've managed to get it to is:- -- Executing Ringing("SIP/PHONE2-d557", "") in new stack -- Executing

Reduce echo?
Hi, Just installed Asterisk+samples from yesterday's cvs with an ISDN card (passive, Cologne HFC chipset, HiSax driver). When I leave a voicemail for extension 1234 the echo is horrible. Is there a way to reduce the echo in this setup? Probably buying a decent card like an Eicon Diva PCI and use chan_capi drivers with echo_cancellation=on would improve things but I do not have that card

i4l - summary of patches?
Hi, I'm trying to get asterisk running on kernel 2.4.20 however trawling through the archives I've found a few references to patches to remove i4l's dtmf detection, but have been unable to find the patch itself (I think it is isdn_audio.c). Can anyone point me in the right direction? The problem I'm seeing is connecting a SIP softphone (tried a few) to an external number via an

Hello All, I was just after a few pointers. I have just setup my Redhat 9 linux box with asterisk. Internal SIP call working fine. My Eicon ISDN card turned up today so - plugged it in and went through the modem.conf. It reports unable to open /dev/ttyI0 The problem is I have never used ISDN with Linux - let alone a telephony app - and I have no idea even where to start. Some pointers

i4l ring indication problem, again...
I can't find solution anywhere. I googled and find people with the same problem but there was no answers on how to fix this. I have W6692 based PCI cards that uses hisax driver (card type=36). Card is working fine under asterisk with i4l modem driver for incoming calls. If I want to dial out using some sip phone I don't get ring indication. Phone is ringing and I hear only silence until
