Asterisk & Rhetorical Systems
Has anyone tried integrating Asterisk and Rhetorical's rVoice software?
We're evaluating different approaches to system announcements via T2S.
Has anyone gone down this route that could give some advice?
I've installed festival and wasn't too impressed, the demo one the
website seems far better quality and clarity then the defaults in the
source package. However I must admit

AGI Diad number
Is there a way of getting the dialled number from an AGI? Is it passed
in the initial variables, or can it be pulled out or passed across from
the dial plan?
Cheers,

Segmentation Fault when using dig, nslookup, host...
I have setup Centos-3.1 on a Dell Optiplex GX1 this week. It has to
replace an old Compaq Deskpro I used as a firewall/router running the no
longer supported RedHat 7.1. I have the NAT firewall up and running, and
it works OK.
However, there is one thing bugging me. I cannot use any client software
that queries a nameserver. I tried to use "dig", "host" and

can't start chan_capi with asterisk group
Hello,
While upgrading * from 1.0.9 to 1.2.5, I have installed chan-capi-head
and I can't start asterisk under asterisk group
"asterisk -vvvvgc -U asterisk " and "asterisk -vvvvgc -U asterisk -G
dialout" work well but "asterisk -vvvvgc -U asterisk -G asterisk" fail.
I am thinking about a group permission configuration but I have exactly

Polycom SoundPoint IP 650 freezes on boot after adding just one custom ringtone
Hi I'm new to this list, so please forgive me off-topic or RTFM-questions.
I have an asterisk/elastix driven phone-environment using Polycom
SoundPoint IP 650 as extensions. When adding just one custom ringtone
(~57KB) in a proper format (ML.wav: RIFF (little-endian) data, WAVE
audio, ITU G.711 mu-law, mono 8000 Hz) the phone boots well. But after I
have chosen the custom ringtone as my

alert_info + Linksys 9xx + custom ringtone
Hello,
I have uploaded a custom ringtone to our SPA-922's for the purpose of
sounding like a door bell chime when the doorbell is pressed. I am using
__alert_info to set this ringtone. It appears that I can only set the
ringtone via alert_info for the ringtones that come from Linksys. Has anyone
else seen this issue?
I am doing the following:
exten => 100,1,SetVar(_ALERT_INFO=doorbell)

Set ringtone by dialed number
Would it be possible to set the ringtone based on the number that was dialed?
Example of what the goal is:
Dial Denver number
Incoming calls ring with ringtone 1
Dial main number
Incoming calls ring with ringtone 2
We are currently using Digium D40, D50, D70 phones.

Generating a different countries ringtone on a per call basis
We can use the Dial() command with the 'r' option in order to generate
the UK ringtone (as we are UK based the default is UK).
How do we generate a USA ringtone for example?
I have tried setting the CHANNEL(language) and CHANNEL(tonezone) to 'us'
(and calling Progress() beforehand) and although this works for
Playtones() the Dial command still continues to play the UK ringtone.

No ringtone when going from queue to dial-command
Hello list,
when I sent an incoming call first to a queue and after the timeout to a
dial-command, while the correspondent's phone rings there is no ringtone
for the caller...
So it goes like this :
1. dial(SIP/account1,20)
2. queue(myqueue,,,,20)
3. dial(SIP/account2)
In step 1 there is a ringtone for the caller.
In step 2 there is musiconhold (class default) for the caller.
In step 3
