Really basic stuff :(
Hi :) I've had all this working before, but I'm revisiting it, and in short, I currently have huge problems receiving incoming calls. I've been trying with both FWD and voiptalk.org. I'm running CVS HEAD of asterisk, zaptel and libpri as of yesterday afternoon. Would someone mind helping? :) My machine is 10.0.0.1 on my LAN, but the ADSL router has 10.0.0.1 set as the 'DMZ

MusicOnHold and MP3Player not triggering "answer"
Hi I have kind of an odd problem. When dialing in from an outside line via a TE410P card it seems like MusicOnHold and MP3Player doesn't work properly (for me anyway). The remote end which is calling * doesn't hear the music but just keeps ringing. But if I insert a Playback("file_which_dont_exist") just before the Moh or MP3Player I can hear the music. Actually I observed the

When I start * I get 6 mpg123 processes start as well. Is this normal? Often after a couple of days these mpg123 processes start to consume cpu and I have to kill them off. I do not have a sound card in the server and I have noload => chan_oss.so Simon

MP3Player
Hi all, Here another guy working with ztdummy and having problems with music. MP3Player does not work for me both from a telephone entering through a passive ISDN-adapter as well as a SIP-client in the LAN. Ztdummy works with conferences. Here are my messages. I have seen several discussion threads in the mail-archive regarding this subject, but could not find an answer. Is this something I

MusicOnHold "zombie" mpg123 processes
Hi, KMail crashed because I saved too many asterisk-users messages ... now I have to ask directly, instead of searching in my private archive :) Here's the problem: I'm using MusicOnHold, running mpg123, but I notice that the processes don't die even after the user hangs up. They just sort of "freeze" and stop consuming cpu (I hope). Is there a way (within asterisk)

problem w/ musiconhold & mpg123
I'm trying to get musiconhold to work w/ my Asterisk system, and I'm not having much success yet. First, I noticed that nothing happened even after I had enabled all of the options in zapata.conf & setup a sample extension in extensions.conf. Then I read something about how Asterisk uses mpg123 to play the files. I discovered that this had not been installed on my system, so I

MusicOnHold with mpg123
Alright, I've come across a really strange issue and I've been banging my head trying to figure it out. I have 3 machines. 1 Dell Dimension 4100, Pentium 3. 1 Dell 400SC, Pentium 4. 1 Dell 1600SC, Xeon. I run mpg123 0.59r on each machine. Using RH9 with a 2.4.20-8 kernel, each machine plays MoH flawlessly. As RH9 gets older and older, however, the need to upgrade arose. So I

mp3player not working
Hi, I'm running the latest Asterisk (built last Saturday) and can't get mp3's to playback on my handsets (this includes music on hold). I setup a couple of extensions, 901 and 902 to playback an mp3 I loaded on, and the sample moh that is included with Asterisk. When I attempt to call either extension I don't hear any sound, and the following displays on the console:

Music conferences ?
Hi folks, I have been wondering about different processor loads and which might be a more efficient way of doing this.... Currently we can set up a shoutcast station as an extension exten => 3334,1,MP3Player,http://radio.nq.net:8000/ Now I was wondering if there was a way we can add a music extension to a conference (send only) and then set up an extension into the conference as listen only

MusicOnHold
Does anybody know why I can NOT hear the MusicOnHold - using SJphone on another PC in our network (normal playback is not a problem) . See the * output and the line configured in extension.conf below (also mp3player does not function) Any suggestions? *Asterisk output:* *CLI> -- Executing WaitMusicOnHold("SIP/jeroen-bf54", "30") in new stack --

Change Asterisk MulticastRTP codec
Greetings everyone, I was wondering if there was a way to change the codec that Asterisk uses when streaming via MulticastRTP. Or perhaps a way to transcode the multicast stream. In the CLI, when I have a multicast stream in progress, I am typing 'core show channel MulticastRTP/0x7f7........' to get lots of helpful information. I have noticed that when I do a MULTICAST page and send data

Music on Hold
Does anybody have a good source for hold music? I can see a number of companies on the web that sell royalty-free MOH, but they don't all provide samples. The customer service desk has requested "calming, not sleeping, but calming" and "this is a high-tech company, so make it 'techie' [sic]". Thanks, --Ernest

Streaming MP3's from Asterisk with Ices
I am trying to stream an mp3 file from an Asterisk meetme conference. Ices and Icecast are streaming mp3 files on their own. I have looked at the info on the wiki and the various readme files. It appears you need to use Ices2 to work with the confirguration file that Asterisk gives you, but it calls Ices. Ices2 appears to only stream ogg files and i would like to stream an mp3 file. Being

MP3s in /var/lib/asterisk/mohmp3 causes Asterisk crash
Hi All, I have just compiled the newest version of mpg123 on a RedHat 9.0 system (mpg321 has not been installed) and I am using the newest CVS version of asterisk. Whenever I place any mp3 files in the /var/lib/asterisk/mohmp3/ directory, Asterisk crashes a horrible fiery death. If mp3s exist in that directory, then I can't even start Asterisk. If I start it without files then copy
