Problem : Samba 3.0.2a as PDC with Win2000 Pro
Hi, all....
Honestly I'm a newbie in Linux. For a couple days,
I've been trying to build my own PDC server.
I've got enough manual resource for guidance, but
somehow, untill now I can't log my Win2000 Profesional
into the PDC server.
I'm using Debian sid kernel 2.6.5, Samba 3.0.2a and a
Win2000 box as client. I think there's nothing wrong
with my smb.conf ( I guess...

Problem with ownership of non-root files at destination
I'm using rsync to mirror my Sharp SL-5500 Linux PDA
home directory to my Linux desktop over a
TCP/IP-on-USB link.
I'm running the following command as root on the 5500:
/home/QtPalmtop/bin/rsync -av /home/zaurus \
192.168.129.1::zaurus
I'm running the rsync server out of xinetd. I have
verified with 'ps' that the server, when it starts, is
running as root. The files are

grandstream and stun
Hi,
I noticed some issues with how grandstream handles
stun test. GS is running version 1.0.4.50. First I
reset the NAT router. Then reboot GS, get results of
"restricted cone". Immediately reboot GS, get results
"full cone". I tried quite a few public and commercial
stun servers. Also tried different model/version of
linksys routers. I always got the same issue. Winstun

Re: : External access to voicemail
Hello steve. Here is a patch I wrote for app_voicemail.c which does
exactly as you describe. When the outgoing message is playing, if the
listener hits the "*" key, they're prompted for a mailbox and password,
whereupon they can check their voicemail as if they were using the internal
phone. I found no other way of doing this.
If you patch your app_voicemail.c, I have V1.44 from

ATA that actually work with T.38
Hi,
I am implementing T.38, and finding a problem getting boxes that work
with T.38 for testing. A lot (maybe most) ATAs now claim to support
T.38, but I'm finding a lot of these lie. I have one box here that just
crashes when it hears a fax tone. :-)
I'm looking for boxes known to implement T.38 properly, and which really
work in the real world.
Regards,
Steve

win32-taskscheduler alpha
Well, I''m going to release the first version of win32-taskscheduler today.
For now, I''ve kept the API about the same as it originally was because I was
spending way too much time futzing around and I wanted to get something out
the door.
For now, I''m calling this a BETA release, with the API subject to change.

Voicemail Sequence Bug?
I have a user, running CVS a/o 11/23/03, who has complained about
"phantom" messages showing up days or even weeks after she has deleted them.
So I asked her to let me know when it happened again, and she called a
few minutes ago.
The directory listing below shows a listing of the
/var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/default/XXXX/Old directory, and to my
surprise the messages are indeed

Legal issues
Greetings!
I've been asked to set-up an Icecast stream / live
webcam for a small club, and I'm worried about what
kind of payments the owner would have to make to
stream the club's music over the internet.
I found this article:
<http://www.copyright.gov/carp/webcasting_rates_final.html>
but I still don't know what to make of it. Would we
have to pay $0.07 per song the DJ

Total newbie here looking to do a VoIP conference call?
I am looking to help out my company find a more budget conscious but
reliable way to hold conference calls between 5+ people. 4x a month we hold
several hour long conference calls during non-business hours. All of the
employees have high speed internet. Currently we dial up an AT&T conf using
regular analog phones.
I don't have a great grasp as to what Asterick is capable of, but my

Subscribe 403 forbidden
I am running Asterisk CVS-HEAD-07/14/04-16:28:29
and noticed that when I send a subscribe I get back a 403. This used
to work in an
old version which I forgot to record before upgrading to the above version.
Any suggestion?
I can register fine with the * server.

Intel 536ep as a FXO?
Hi,
I've seen some reports about ruuning Intel modem with 537 or MD3200
chipset running with Zaptel drivers as a FXO port. Did anybody managed
to set up a PCI faxmodem based on Intel536ep chipset to work with * and
Zaptel drivers?
Modem seemd to work just fine with Linux, but the driver says no;)
