Upgrade to the newest cvs now asterisk will notstart
Looking at the error I tried moving chan_modem* out of the modules
folder and asterisk started and its working again...
Not sure what changed in the chan_modem_i4l.so but removing it from the
folder fixed my problem.

starting asterisk with nice -5
Is there any script guru on the list that can help me.
I'm trying to start asterisk with nice -5.
Normally the command would be:

but asterisk start from the scrip on Gentoo as -U asterisk -G asterisk
Here is the script:

installing asterisk for Ubuntu Synaptic
I have an Ubuntu system and went into Synaptic and checked asterisk for
installation. Once installed, I started it with /usr/sbin/asterisk -vvvgc
and got the following output with several errors and notices. Do I need to
do more or are these ok? I expected to have some conf files in
/etc/asterisk but there is nothing there.
Thanks!

sipdtmfmode problem
Greetings. I'm having a bit of a problem using the sipdtmfmode app. I have two
incoming paths to * from pstn via FWD that use differing dtmfmode. IPKall
wants rfc2833, libretel wants inband. If I set dtmfmode= in the fwd peer
config in sip.conf each works seperately, and I'm trying to use gotoif and
sipdtmfmode to switch based on the CID calling. Output seems to indicate

BOOM! Crash when trying to use SIPDtmfMode on an outgoing call!
All,
Here's a cool one.. I was attempting to call a retarded conferencing
service, and was having problems with it picking up my DTMF.. after trying
all the settings my Sipura SPA2000 offers, I found inband actually works..
unfortunately, I can't get anything else to pick up my inband DTMF
(including asterisk's builtin voicemail! It just times out and says I never
entered a login!).

Installing Asterisk on Mandrake 10.1 Official
I have a pretty basic Mandrake 10.2 w/KDE 3.2 and I installed Asterisk-1.0.1-2mdk. I installed the source of main and contrib from ftp, so at the install time I accepted all the packages needed to be installed too.
The installation went smooth, but when I try to execute asterisk (#asterisk -vvv) I encounter few warnings I end with an error. At this point I didn't touch any conf file, I was

Is there something wrong with "show manager commands"?
Is it just my box, or is there something flaky in the implementation of
"show manager commands"?
Note: I'm using putty. About half way through this, I toggled my KVM over to
the desktop and logged in to try and recreate it. The output was the same as
the last two entries in this dump.

PJSIP equivalent for SIPDtmfMode?
Can't find a way to control the dtmf mode on a per session basis with
pjsip, used to use SIPDtmfMode from the dialplan with chan_sip. Any
hints on how to do this?

spatial-time smoothing
Hi all,
I'm looking for to interpolate hourly temperature date collected from more
than 140 automatic weather station (irregularly spaced) using 4 independent
variable:
1-2) geografic coordinates (x,y) (from DEM - 40m)
3) altitude (z) (from DEM - 40m)
4) solar radiation (from a model calculated with grass: r.sun)
In addition, I would like to use also "time" variable (e.g.: hours).

Parsing IAXPeers from Asterisk Manager (PHP API)
Hi all,
Trying to do what should be a basic info retrieval from my asterisk
network -- get the list of IAXPeers and break down by IP, name, and Status
etc.
Asterisk 1.0 Manager unfortunately. Using PHP.
Easy to get the response -- but parsing it is impossible! That table format
throws me for a loop ...
Any idea of an easy way to seperate out the columns of that horrid 'table'
reponse

IAXPeers for Windows Beta released
Hi,
I've just done up a quick proggy to show me the status of my IAX peers
from my windows box. It plugs into the simple manager proxy.
You can see more information (including a screenshot) at:
http://www.sineapps.com/news.php?rssid=384
You can download it directly from:
http://www.sineapps.com/down/IAXPeers.zip
Could you please have a look and let me know your thoughts.
