WCTDM-24xxp woes
I am currently running Asterisk 1.2.8, on an AMD Sempron 3100+ (ASUS K8N Nforce based board). I am using a Digium wctdm24xxp to terminate 8 (2x quad) FXO lines. Using ztmonitor (From zapata) I cannot see that there is any registerable incoming volume from these lines. I've been running them at rxgain = 25 (zapata.conf) to make the audio audible, however this creates poor call quality issues

This is a follow/find me script that I can't quite get to work, asterisk wont save forward/${calleridnum} to AstDB... any comments or thoughts on how to make this work or change it to work differently are appreciated. The voice prompts to go with all playback/background extensions are commented appropriately. I hope this code is of use to some of you and any help with a perfected

I've pulled the plug on viewcvs
While trying to get other work done on Motherfish-II, I couldn't help but notice that machine load was over *200*, due entirely to the viewCVS CGI. Either we were being DoSed via the cgi, or it's too inefficient to even think about using. Motherfish is a server intended for *core services only*. We've been steadily forgetting that. Core services include CVS, mail and web. They

Audit handbook chapter review, call for general testing
Dear All, Over the past week or so, I have spent some time updating Tom Rhodes' excellent FreeBSD Handbook chapter on Audit for some of the more recent audit changes, such as new features in more recent OpenBSM versions. Since FreeBSD 6.2-BETA2 contains what is likely the final drop of the audit code (modulo any bug fixes) for 6.2-RELEASE, now would be a great time for people interested

Users handbook
At the most recent project I completed I have to post a intranet web page with instructions on using the system and phones. Asterisk is 1.07 stable and the phones are Polycom IP300, IP500, and IP600. Has anyone done an Astersik users guide? Something non-technical but covering most of the features an office worker would use. If nothing exists, should we develop this as a documentation project?

GSoC proposals soon due & student handbook
Hi everyone, As we're closing in on the time when proposals need to be written and handed in, I'd like to point out the great student guide to GSoC: https://web.archive.org/web/20150315023159/http://en.flossmanuals.net/GSoCStudentGuide/# As you may notice this points to Archive.org, that is because flossmanuals seems to be currently down. That's an additional reason why I'm

[Kerberos] Error at Handbook?
Hi! I'm quite new to the list, but searching the archive and PRs didn't show me anything on the matter. According to FreeBSD Handbook (14.8.2 Setting up a Heimdal KDC) one should config DNS server by adding: ----- _kerberos IN TXT EXAMPLE.ORG. ----- This doesn't work. DNS servers returns: text = "EXAMPLE.ORG.". This is right, because RFC 1035 allows up to

Errors in the FreeBSD handbook (MAC framework)
(crossposted to freebsd-security just in case someone has to slap me) :) Hello, I'm doing some work with the MAC subsystem in FreeBSD, and I have spotted some errors in the MAC documentation in the handbook. 1- Section 15.14.4. Error in the example dropping users "nagios" and "www" into the insecure class. The example uses the command "pw usermod nagios -L

Kerberos in the handbook
Is anyone currently working on updating the Kerberos documentation in the Handbook? if so, I'd like to help. If not, I'm hoping to find someone who can get me up to speed on the FreeBSD docbook extensions :-) -T -- "The truly paranoid administrator may wish to place motion detectors in the air ducts." - Practical UNIX & Internet Security, 2nd Edition

comments on handbook chapter
``You do not want to overbuild your security or you will interfere with the detection side, and detection is one of the single most important aspects of any security mechanism. For example, it makes little sense to set the schg flag (see chflags(1)) on every system binary because while this may temporarily protect the binaries, it prevents an attacker who has broken in from making an easily

Problem running SSH on IBM PPC440 processor, help appreciated
Hi, Sorry to bother you on this mailing list, however I tried everything else and I am desperate to get this running. Please send me any hints you can think of. I have installed openssh-3.7.1p2 on a ppc target and trying to connect to an sshd running on a redhat 9 with openssh-3.5p1. I keep getting the error "Disconnecting: Corrupted check bytes on input" no matter what I tried. I

readlines() truncates text file with Codepage 437 encoding
Appended is the file -- you need to tell your e-mail software to use one of the MIME types that R-devel does accept; text/plain is what I chose ((Yes, as R mailing list server "operator", with a bit of detective work, I was able to find the "uncleaned" e-mail and extract the attachment from it)) Martin Maechler ETH Zurich -------------- next part -------------- An

Booting using single image file
Howdy, I know that syslinux doesn't currently support this, but does anyone here know how I might go about getting some sort of boot process together that would have a single firmware image as opposed to seperate files for initrd, kernel, and root fs? Thanks.

Anyone else taken a look at this? Looks exactly like Asterisk (the random source files I browsed all show Digium copyright) but with autoconf. https://developer.berlios.de/projects/solid-pbx/ From the summary page: Solid PBX is a multi-platform Soft Switch Class 5 software targeted for home/corporate/operator level markets

911 @ Zap Channel Breakin
Ok here is one for you. I know we all do the this for 911: exten => _911,1,Dial(Zap/1/911) exten => _9911,1,Dial(Zap/1/911) And this probably is more then acceptable for most of us. However I have a system setup that uses SIP for most calls and 1 POTS line. We use a "least cost" routing that uses the POTS line for local calls AND SIP when appropiate. What I want to do is
