Queston on using the delete option
You brought up a very good point which described what rsync can and can
not do. Because of the robustness of this application, we are trying
to find a way to use rsync and replacing our current primitive system
which uses tar and send the data over a small pipe.
Since my last posting, I have thought about not using the
"--delete"option and instead, gather a list of files to be

How to create [new_context] in extensions.conf?
It _appears_ that the only way to create valid [context] is by a
context = line in sip.conf.
Is there another way to create a [new_context] in extensions.conf so I
can dial from it?
Right now most of my extens are in [default] and I'd like to avoid that.

CVS won't compile: res_odbc error
Hi there,
admittedly this is a slightly aged RH system. ;-> Yet what I'd like to
know is if this compile problem is clearly due to the gcc version, or if
there is a way to solve the issue...?
Cheers, Philipp

I am currently experiencing problems with DTMF detection. My sip-phone

I do a clean cvs from a W2K machine and see that in new chan_sip.c , this
field has been recognized.
But compiling under Linux give me following error. The error come from

Hello,
I just tried to compile OH323 0.6.3b on a RH9 machine with Asterisk 1.0 RC2
installed but failed. I applied the patch to the required OpenH323 library
according to the instructions, and set the proper directories in the Makefile.
Here is what I receive after I issue make:

Error compiling, is it only mee?
Hi all,
since a couple of days i have been wanting to upgrade Asterisk, but my
system complains. (Se errors below) Since im ripping the cvs version i
guessed that it was something temporary. But it seems persistant.
Is this only me or is it happening to other people?
Anyone who has a workaround?
Or naturally even better, a solution...

HP-UX slow login problem found?
I think I finally figured out the problem that many people have been
having with extremely long login times under HP-UX 11.x. The problem
is really in OpenSSL, and in particular the Diffie-Hellman parameter
generation routines under the PA-RISC processor. I suspect this may
not be a problem with the IA64 (Itanium) processors. This especially
shows up if you use the gcc compiler. Fortunately I

Questons about R capabilities
Hello,
1) I am interested in performing a limited-dependent variable linear regression. By this I mean a classical linear regression, but for the case where the values of the dependent variable cannot vary from -infinity to +infinity, but are truncated and so are between two finite limits L1 and L2. Does R1.7 have this capability? If so what is (are) the relevant command(s)?

Using LightDM as a headless XDMCP server without physical graphics card
Hi,
I'm currently testing the XDMCP functionality of LightDM which seems to
work flawless, however, there is one issue which I cannot resolve:
The machine I am using for my setup is a dedicated machine running some
VM's, these VM's don't have any graphics card associated and run
headless and the only form of command is via a web interface or SSH.
LightDM seems to use the
