libmysqlclient.so.14(libmysqlclient_14)(64bit)
Hi, I'm trying to update a c4 x86_64 system. This fails because off Error: Missing Dependency: libmysqlclient.so.14(libmysqlclient_14)(64bit) is needed by package php-mysql The system has MySQL 5 rpms, build on monk.karan.org. I can't remember/find where I found these packages. The thing is, mysqlclient14 (4.1.14 4.c4) only provides libmysqlclient.so.14()(64bit), which was fine with

Yum thing
Hi, As there is no (decent) way to specify a particular repo for an particular package with yum, I'm having an odd problem: Although the version numbers differ, I have 2 spamassassin pkgs in different repo's (updates and my own addons) which are seen as updates to eachother: jelsum:/root-# tail -11 /var/log/yum.log Sep 02 04:26:34 Installed: perl-Mail-SpamAssassin.i386 3.1.0-1 Sep 02

xmms-mp3
Hi, I have a (stupid?) problem getting xmms-mp3 added to a CentOS 3.1 desktop: 'xmms' is the distro one, and 'xmms-mp3' comes from Dag Wieers (I used to use freshrpms on redhat 9, but for some reason freshrpms doesn't do rhel3). Any ideas? drempt:/root-# yum install xmms-mp3 Gathering header information file(s) from server(s) Server: CentOS 3.1 - Addons Server: CentOS 3.1 -

Newer GnuPG (S)RPMS?
Hi, Has anyone newer GnuPG (S)RPMs than the one coming with CentOS (gnupg-1.2.1-10). That one obviously has problems (for example: it doesn't recognize new signatures on keys when doing 'gpg --import keysfile'). I tried to build new packages from various SRPMs from the Fedora distros. The builds went oke, however, after installing them (no complaining debs) this error occurs when

Nautilus / Desktop Icons
Hi, I've a nautilus problem with CentOS 4. It doesn't show the desktop items any more (also after dropping all gnome files/dirs from a users homedir) en the right mouse button menu also doesn't work. Googling around I've found various items about the problem but until now not a clear solution. Some people mention some 'browser mode in nautilus preferences'. But I

Mailman crons
Hi, The last RHEL3 update pack contains a mailman package. I'm using that on a new mailserver and found a little problem with cron when starting/ stopping the mailman service. RedHat moves the mailman crontab in and out every time, however, crond only notes the 'move in', not the 'move out. This is because the /etc/cron.d/ timestamp only changes by a 'move in'. My fix:

Announce list filters
Hi, (sorry, new thread, already dropped the previous postings) Johnny H. just posted a surprising feature: filtering options for the announce list. But they don't seem to be right or there is no announce standard. Pasi is posting storms of non i386 things. He uses: "CentOS 3 s390" the filter has: "CentOS-3 s390" Regards, -- Henk van Lingen, Systems & Network

gnome-terminal / mutt / chars mixed up
Hi, I have a little problem with characters/lines getting mixed up and I don't know where to look or how to google for a clue. I've a CentOS 4 system on which I use gnome-terminals. When I use mutt (mutt-1.4.1-10) in such a terminal, in some situations it mixes-up the lines in the terminal. It seems in some way it fails to 'refresh' all lines. For example, if I have a line bind

arpwatch-2.1a11-7.E3.2.i386.rpm
Hi, I think the package arpwatch-2.1a11-7.E3.2.i386.rpm is missing in centos-3/3.1/updates. Or is it located somewhere else? The packages libpcap-0.7.2-7.E3.2.i386.rpm and tcpdump-3.7.2-7.E3.2.i386.rpm are present and they come from the same src.rpm Jan Kees

Disabling shutdown and suspend for normal users
Hi, [CentOS 5] What is the best way to remove the shutdown and suspend options from menu's for normal users? After googling around, I added "SystemMenu=false" to the greeter section in /etc/gdm/custom.conf. After that the GDM login screen still shows the options, but 'restart' indeed doesn't work anymore. However, the gnome menu's when logged in, still have the

Using snmp for APC smarts
Hi, I'm new to nut. I have some 100 APC Smart-UPS 2200 & 3000's and I'm trying to do some calibration test on them. I've installed nut, with driver = snmp-ups mibs = apcc in ups.conf. I can read the variables using upsc. However it seems, I can't actually execute commands on the UPSses this way. ( upscmd some-ups calibrate.start ) Do I miss something, or are those

4.4 on Dell D620: widescreenresolution?
Hi, Did anyone manage to get 4.4 working on a Dell D620 laptop? The thing has a 1440x900 LCD screen, but I don't get X the work with that resolution. (lspci: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)) Google suggested to use '915resolution', which I installed (915resolution-0.5.2-1.el4.rf), but that doesn't help.
