Norstar Integration with Asterisk via FXO or BRI ISDN
Hi, I have a legacy Norstar system that I'm looking into integrating with my Asterisk setup. My first attempts have worked, which involves a Wildcard X100P FXO card in the * box connected to the Internal ATA (FXS port) on the Norstar system. Calling from SIP -> Norstar works fine, since the SIP caller initiated the call and generally will be sane enough to hangup the phone when

Maximum tollerable lag/jitter for IAX2 w/o j itterbuffer enabled?
Unfortunatly no on both counts. The arrangement right now has: PSTN Trunks & Stations <-> Nortel Norstar#1 <-CT1-> Asterisk#1 <-IAX2-> Asterisk#2 <-CT1-> Nortel Nortstar#2 <-> Stations The Asterisk boxes provide Voicemail to their sites Norstars and intersite calls over IAX. Local Voicemail works flawlessly at each site but there have been reports of PSTN calls

Anyone using National ISDN (NI-1) BRI under Linux?
I have a North American BRI configured as National ISDN (NI-1) on an SBC (Nortel?) switch. SBC calls this "FastTrak ISDN", and it's surprisingly inexpensive -- less than two POTS lines. I've been trying to find an inexpensive PCI interface solution to connect this to Asterisk as voice lines. I prefer ISDN BRI over POTS lines because of the improved signalling, fast dialing,

use of Asterisk and T100P as Nortel DSX-1?
Hi all, I've seen a couple of posts recently from people who are doing something with Asterisk and a T100P and a Nortel PBX. However it's not clear exactly what they are doing. Does anyone know if it's possible to use a T100P or T400P as a DSX-1 interface to connect to a T1/PRI CO module in a Nortel PBX? We have a Nortel Norstar Modular ICS PBX and I'd like to plug its CO

ISDN
Hi, I'm in the process of setting up Asterisk in a SOHO environment using ISDN for trunking. More specifically a BRI 2B+D circuit where one SPID is used for the business and the other is used for personal. The circuit already exists, but is presently being interfaced to POTS phones via a TA. This configuration is not very common in the US, but we are fortunate that our LEC offers it price

Asterisk & BRI in the USA - Episode 2 "The Phantom Sales Rep"
Hey all here's an update. I do care to thank everyone for your information on BRI interfaces that operate in USA/NA. I know the responses are were limited, but the selection of hardware is also limited. (Shame because BRI would fit my needs perfectly). To continue, it's now been over 4 weeks since I last talked to the ILEC sales rep about pricing and plans. Unfortunately there

Norstar ATA2 signalling protocol?
Does anyone know which signalling protocol works when connecting the output of a NT8B90AL Norstar ATA2 analog terminal adapter to an FXO card? (fxsks, fxsgs, fxsls?) I'm trying to add an Asterisk branch to my Norstar PBX as outlined at http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+Nortel. - Mike

Norstar MICS
I am currently working on an Asterisk test system, and will be presenting a demo to the Board of Directors tomorrow night. I want to make sure I have all of my ducks in a row. The Asterisk system will be used to replace a Norstar MICS. The location has two PRI's coming in, with a few hundred DIDs. I know how to make * use the DIDs incoming, and I know how Nortel uses the DIDs. Now for the

Sangoma BRI card -- National ISDN/North America support (Having problems with analog disconnect supervision?)
Hi, folks! Sangoma has an informal user survey up on their home page (at http://www.sangoma.com) asking if people would use their A500 card for North American BRI, if it were supported. I encourage anyone with an interest in voice BRI in North America to vote; this information will be used for deciding whether to make the investment in developing a National ISDN driver layer for it. Benefits to

Japanese ISDN BRI card for asterisk (INS64) where to start?
Hi All, I currently run asterisk in our office (in Japan) and use a cisco PRI gateway for connection to the PSTN. I would like to setup some more systems for our smaller offices (in Japan) that would use BRI and preferably using a PCI card in the asterisk box and not a seperate Cisco gateway (expensive). HOWEVER, Japan has this INS64 protocol for their BRI lines and im not sure what cards

Nortel ATA not passing dtmf tones to fxo
I am trying to integrate a Nortel Norstar system with an Asterisk service using a TDM04B card (4 fxo). So far everyting works from Asterisk to Nortel. The problem is when someone dials from the Nortel PBX to the Asterisk server. Asterisk answers the call and provides a dialtone (with DISA) but appartently the DTMF tones are not passed to asterisk and the call cannot proceed. This only

Latest DAHDI/libpri/Asterisk 1.8 & 1x BRI port HFC based ISDN card?
Hi, I would appreciate some advice on the following: how does one use a single BRI port HFC chipset based ISDN cards with the latest DAHDI, libpri and Asterisk 1.8? For Asterisk 1.4 I would first install mISDN & mISDNuser and then build Asterisk 1.4. Now I noticed that Digium's HFC chipset based B410P is supported by the latest DAHDI & libpri but reading the source of the

Outgoing CallerID w. DAHDI on ISDN BRI
Hi List, i've set up an Asterisk 1.6.0.3 Server equipped with an Xorcom Astribank BRI XR0013 (2 Port BRI) and Dahdi 2.1.0. In- and outgoing calls are no problem. But I can't get Asterisk/DAHDI to use the second Number of the BRI. All calls set the primary number as callerid. It wouldn't be a problem, if we would use this one as id for our company, but it's already in use (private).

ISDN 4 BRI card for UK
Hello I want to setup an Asterisk in several offices with 4 BRI ISDN. I am looking for recommendations on hardware. Criteria would be ease of setup, reliability and cost. The Eicon 4 BRI cards seem fairly pricey. Shame Digium don't do a ISDN BRI card. Angus -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

ISDN BRI termination via Cisco?
Greetings - We've a pair of ISDN BRI that we use for dialtone, fairly happily except for the recent meltdown of one of our Netgear RT338's. We're in the middle of slowly migrating to a VoIP/Asterisk-on-FreeBSD based phone system. I had originally considered just buying a Digium TDM400 card and continuing to use the RT338's to bring out POTS lines from the BRI's, but the

Which policy for ISDN BRI support in NT/PtMP ?
Hi, As you may know, these ISDN BRI features are very important here in Europe as ISDN Basic Rate Access is very popular among Small & Medium Entreprises. I don't really know why but it seems that in many countries, default is to install small PBX using Point-to-Multipoint (PtMP) mode as opposed to Point-to-Point (PtP) which is the norm for PRI. So basically, in several countries, SME

set caller id on outgoing calls through BRI ISDN lines
I'm trying to set caller ids on outgoing calls. I have a quad BRI B410P card connected to my telephony provider. I know the list of DID numbers the provider assigned to my company. If I don't set the caller id then the callee always sees the same "top-level" number. If I set the caller id to a specific DID number we own, the callee keeps seeing the "top-level" number,
