Plone
Any good guide to install Plone? I have googled around and could
not find a good one [meaning clear instructions that I can easily
follow]. From a repository would be best .

Thanks

RoR from a Plone perspective?
Hey all,
Curious if there are any developers out there who have used Plone and
are in the process of moving the RoR? I am in need of a rather large
CMS soon, and right now it seems to be use Plone or MuraveyWeb, both
of which would require extensive customization.
While I love RoR, Plone is definitely more mature and well rounded and
has more features. The problem of course is it''s not

Error 11: can not backup /var/lib/zope2.9
Moin,
I wrote a small backup script that use rsync: r5backup
(http://sourceforge.net/projects/r5backup/). It backup dozen of unix machines
for many people.
But when I try to backup /var/lib/zope2.9 I get an error 11. It does not
matter if zope is running or not.
I can't see an error meassge in the (verbose) logfile:

CentOS4.3: Upgrade Python for Zope&Plone
Hi,
I need to upgrade Python to at least 2.3.5, (but 2.4.3 would probably
be better), to run Zope & Plone.
Is it possible to replace the current version without breaking
anything? or should I run two versions in parallel?
What's the best way to go about doing this?
Ben

Plone
Hello,
is someone using Plone on CentOs 5.2?
What is the best way to install lastest version? Using their unified
installer?
Thanks in advance!

dag repo and perl dependencies naming
Hi
I'm trying to install amavisd-new from dag repo on centos3.
In the spec file perl dependencies use parenthesis: perl(Digest::MD5)
it also uses '-': perl-MailTools
The problem is that only the second notation is available: perl-MD5
I know this is an old problem. Is this only centos related?
Is there a workaround?
Do I have to modify the spec file? I'd like to use yum...

Doc for the Wiki
I've modified/updated an existing HowTo (for RHEL) I found on the net
detailing how to install the following on a "virgin" CentOS 5.1 install:
Python 2.4.5
Python Imaging Library 1.1.6
Zope 2.10.5
Plone 3.0.6 Content Management System
Do I just email it to this list? It's about 6 pages long.
Cheers,

Trying to build custom Python 2.4.4 RPM
I'm trying to build a custom RPM with a standalone Python 2.4.4 in the /opt
directory to keep it isolated from the stock version of Python in CentOS
4.4. The end goal is to use it in conjunction with yet-to-be-built RPMS of
the current versions of Zope and Plone.
The spec file I've constructed allows me to build a RPM successfully, but
when I try to install the RPM, it complains:

ISDN: Inband DTMF doesn't trigger transfer feature
Hi there,
I just upgraded a relatively old Asterisk installation (1.2) in our
office to a relatively new version (1.6svn from last wednesday) which
runs a Junghans QuadBRI card [1].
To get this flying I got dahdi-linux, dahdi-tools and libpri from SVN as
well.
After a while of juggling it "works".
What doesn't work: connected ISDN devices (Gigaset phones connected to

Creating my own YUM repository
I have already 6 Centos machines here and it is getting strange
having to pull down updates to each system.
Seems like I should set up one system to pull updates and then all
other systems to point to it.
How?
Plus then I would want to add to this repository.
Say that a number of my systems use tomcat which is only available
via rpm. I would like to be able to add it to my repository, and

DTMF detection on dahdi with b4xxp (again, some more details)
Hi,
I tried again getting DTMF detection on my ISDN devices with dahdi going
again. I used the channel debug to see whether asterisk sees the frames
and detects them as DTMF.
Interestingly here's what works:
1. GSM phone -> chan_dahdi g1 -> asterisk -> can_sip -> SIP phone
Both the GSM phone and the SIP phone can issue DTMF that will be
detected as features (transfer)

Old (really old) programs under CentOS.
Ok, I have a small dilemma, and I'm hoping someone here has had to do this before.
I have at a site (not PARI) a server running some mission critical software that was written in 1997 for libc5, under AOLserver 2.3.? No, source code is not available for that version of AOLserver (it wasn't open-sourced until version 3.0, and the API changed rather dramatically at that point), not that it

CMS centos3
Anyone using or recomend a content management system that will install
without out a lot of mucky muck on a Centos3 system? I looked at Zope
but it needs a newer Python, Midgaard looks likes it's geared towards
RHEL4. OpenCMS looks like it runs on java so that might work. I have
yet to look at Rubyrails and Django.

more: Have install diskette for 3.0, but can't find the .img for 4.0
I have found something called: diskboot.img
at: http://www.gtlib.gatech.edu/pub/centos/4/os/i386/images/
But it is 6Mb large (6411Kb) instead of 1411Kb
And the rawreadwrirewin program gets an error on it when run on NT. On
Win2000, it makes a diskette that fails to boot..
So really, HELP!!!!
I 'just' discovered that my old bootable diskette is for Centos 3.0, and my
other CDs are
