List, Did not get any response from the first attempt, so thought I'd ask again. I've been bugged by the fact that the dpms function will not work on this machine, and perhaps now I have some clue as to why. Looking at the Xorg.0.log, I see where "Open APM failed (/dev/apm_bios) (No such file or directory)" which tells me perhaps this is the reason why it won't turn

I'm having a problem with my monitor not turning off after the screensaver times out or, after the set time for the monitor to leave suspend and then off. I have checked, and +dpms is set with correct values. Xscreensaver is set also in advanced to turn off after 30 minutes. Have tried other times, but still does not work. I've run across a couple of things I'm not quite sure why, but just discovered the libtermcap.* was not installed from the CD's. I would have thought the termcap libs would be part of the base install, and in fact, when I retrieved them with yum, it does show "base" or "core". Is this just some errant behavior one time or is something broken in the install?

Is it possible to set up a single disk raid (kind of redundant to call a single disk an array) but I've got a single SATA drive in the machine not doing anything. Hi all, I am using centos 5. I need the screen to always be on. I have gone into System -> Preferences -> Screen saver and then I unchecked the "Activate screen saver when computer is IDLE" setting. I also edited the xorg.conf and commented out the dpms line. However, my screen is still going into some kind of screen saver. What else is there to disable? Thanks, Jerry
