Newbie voiceplus + asterisk
I have a linux computer with a sound card, I want to place a call to a
cell phone using asterisk and my voiceplus account. I can use kphone
(linux app) to call voiceplus, but I am hoping to learn to use some of
the cooler features of asterisk. I am lost.
On my debian installation there is no man page... Powerful package, I'm
excited by the possibilities, but I don't know where to

We are looking for another solution besides Samba, which will allow our
application developers using Windows 95/98/NT to access share on our Sun Box
running Solaris 2.6 operating systems. Our supervisor feels the Samba
installation process is more complex than what we really need.
Any suggestions?

V0.8.0 Problems
Tim, et al,
I have run into several problems with V0.8.0. I will address them seperately.
1. My compiler is complaining about the following code in celt.c which seems to define metric first as celt_word32, then as celt_word16. Am I mis-interpreting something?
?? VARDECL(celt_word32, metric);
?? ALLOC(metric, len, celt_word16);
Thx

[RFC] Online dedup for Btrfs
Hello,
I was bored this weekend so I hacked up online dedup for Btrfs. It''s working
quite well so I think it can be more widely tested. There are two ways to use
it
1) Compatible mode - this is a bit slower but will handle being used by older
kernels. We use the csum tree to find duplicate blocks. Since it is relatively
easy to have crc32c collisions this also involves reading the

Porting CELt to the C5505
Tony,
How is this going? Have you been able to get CELT to run on a TI55xx? I am
very interested in the % utilization of the hardware and whether multiple
instance of CELT on the same DSP are feasible. I look forward to your
findings.

Jean-Mark, Tim,
Could either of you expound on the following comment in cwrs.c?
/*If _k==0, the following do-while loop will overflow the buffer.*/
----------------------------------------------------------------
...because the following do-loop does overflow the buffer when k=126
k=2;
do _u[k]=(k<<1)-1;
while(++k<len);
Thanks,

Asterisk and AMP installed now what?
Ladies and Gentleman,
I have setup Asterisk and AMP. They are working with out error. But now I
need to get everything going.
I have Voicepluse and they give sample iax.conf and extensions.conf files
but that does me a little good as I am using AMP.
Is there some docs somewhere on how to confgure once I have AMP up and
running?
I am not a telephony guy and alot of this looks like greek to

GLOBAL_STACK_SIZE
I am having trouble understanding the stack allocation scheme when using a
C55xx device. From what I can tell, the GLOBAL_STACK_SIZE is set in arch.h
to 100,000 bytes (when using FIXED_POINT), which is then used in the
ALLOC_STACK macro found in stack_alloc.h. This macro seems to say, if
global_stack==0, then call celt_alloc_scratch, found in os_support.h, which
in turn attempts to allocate (using

Endianess Switch?
Jean-Marc,
It appears that since testcelt reads a WAVE file from disck and passes the
data directly to celt_encode, so that celt_encode's "in" buffer must be
expecting little-endian formatted packets. Is this correct? Is there
endiness switch somewhere?
Thx

QCONST16?
Gents,
In Version 8.1, QCONST16 is defined as follows in arch.h within the
FLOATING_POINT section:
#define QCONST16(x,bits) (x)
However, in both celt.c and quant_bands.c, QCONST16 is referenced without a
conditional FLOATING_POINT define. So when I compile as FIXED_POINT I get an
"undefined identifier" for QCONST16. Am I doing something wrong?
Thx,
MikeH

C55xx Linking Error
I am attempting to port CELT to the TI C5515 DSP. I am
compiling/assembling/linking with Code Composer Studio 4. I have enabled the
TI_55 specific optimizations in my config.h file per this
<http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/celt-dev/2008-December/000033.html> post.
However, I am getting several "undefined symbol" linking errors that do not
make sense to me. According to the error

question on "doveadm user" and pass/userdb
Hi,
I'm about getting to know dovecot in details, I am about the command
"doveadm user". The man page shows this example:
userdb: jane
uid : 8001
gid : 8001
home : /home/jane
mail : sdbox:~/sdbox
plugins : sieve
quota_rule: *:storage=150M
It seems to be nice, however I never got this only:

NFS Mounted GlusterFS, secondary groups not working
Howdy,
I have a GlusterFS 3.1 volume being mounted on a client using NFS. From the client I created a directory under the mount point and set the permissions to root:groupa 750
My user account is a member of groupa on the client, yet I am unable to list the contents of the directory:
$ ls -l /gfs/dir1
ls: /gfs/dir1/: Permission denied
$ ls -ld /gfs/dir1

Opus approved by the IETF
Hi everyone,
I'm pleased to announce that the IETF has just approved for Opus to
become a standard. I'll still take a few more weeks of editing before
it's published as an RFC, at which point we'll release version 1.0. From
now on, we'll be replacing the use of the CELT name with Opus and I'd
like to encourage everyone to switch to Opus in their applications. Note
that

We perform administration remotely using telnet, CRT and others from Windows

We are want to use Samba to allow mapping to certain directories on the Sun

VoIP hackers gut Caller ID
The Register is carrying a article written by Kevin Poulsen of
Securtiy Focus, calling asterisk "..the most powerful tool for
manipulating and accessing CPN data.."
> http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/07/07/hackers_gut_voip/
I hope NuFone doesn't drop asterisk-set-able callerid's after this
article; i've been wanting that feature from voicepluse for a long
time.
