Recommendation for HTML editor
I was playing around with Nvu, and discovered it has serious problems. Mainly that it reformats one's code regardless of whether or not one selects the "Don't reformat code" option. I know there are a few HTML editors out there, so I'm not asking if they exist. What I'm wondering if there are those on this list who may have a recommendation for one they like and why.

Lost my menu options again - KDE messes with Gnome?
This was a problem I had a while back. I lost the "Preferences" menu item in my "Applications" menu in Gnome. After much discussion, the following commands got my "Preferences" menu item back, along with all the applications inside of it: rpm -e redhat-artwork redhat-menus --nodeps --allmatches yum install redhat-artwork redhat-menus But... For some reason it

BJC-2100 printer not printing correctly
First, thanks for the great work done on Centos 4.1. Recently installed on two systems that previously were running Windows 98 and Windows ME. (The user of the Windows ME system has no problems so far.) I was very surprised when Centos 4.1 recognized and automatically configured the BJC-2100 printer connected to the USB port during install. The only problem encountered so far is poor

DOS style 8.3 filename mangling issues??!
Okay, I've run through all of the tests in the DIAGNOSE, which my 1.9.18p1 SAMBA server (and NT4SP3/W95 clients) pass with flying colours. server box: Linux 2.0.33, gcc 2.7.2.2, libc 5.4.33, shadow, quota on (usr+grp), and my smb.conf is summarised (by testparm output) below: Problem is this: with respect to programs not long filename-aware/compliant, users cannot "double-click" on

What's the Linux equivelant of an exe file?
This is one of those questions that seems to be soo obvious to people that no one feels the need to have an explanation anywhere. I've been looking around the net for ages, and I can't figure out what, on Linux, is actually a program. I've downloaded OpenOffice 1.9 Beta, and would like to run it. I go to the /opt/openoffice.org1.9.122/program/ directory and... then what? What do

Include files though directory excluded
Hi, I got a little question on the rsync-option include/exclude: I excluded all hidden files in my home-directory but I want two files to be included. I used following command: gregor@notebook:~> rsync -avzuPn -e ssh --exclude=.* --exclude=* --include=.kderc --include=.gaimrc /home/gregor/ 192.168.0.1:/home/gregor/ building file list ... 1 file to consider wrote 69 bytes read 20 bytes

Checking Goodness of Fit With Kolmogorov-Smirnov
Hi, I'm using the power.law.fit function from the igraph package to fit a power law distribution to some data. This function returns the power law exponent as it's only result. I would like to have some sort of goodness-of-fit and/or error estimate of the exponent returned. This paper: http://www.edpsciences.org/articles/epjb/pdf/2004/18/b04111.pdf suggests using the

adobe apps installed finally but
They don't work. With Codeweavers preview 4 I just had to place a few native dlls (easy the program asked for them) and I managed to install Photoshop5.5, GoLive5, and Illustrator9. But Photoshop won't save files, Illustrators pentool is totally out of control, and GoLive will freeze on start up. So now what? Do I have to learn C if I want to progress from here? My real question

Recommendations for Infiniband with CentOS 6.7
Hi All, We looking for suggestions on dealing with mellanox drivers in CentOS 6.7 We tried installing mellanox drivers (MLNX_OFED_LINUX-3.2-2.0.0.0-rhel6.7-x86_64) on a Quanta Cirrascale server running Centos 6.7 - 2.6.32-573.22.1.el6.x86_64. When we rebooted the machine after installing the drivers, it went into a kernel panic for every installed kernel except for Centos 6.7
