Unable to unmount filesystem (bug in kernel reported in kern.log)
I tried to unmount a btrfs filesystem located in a external usb hard
drive. This belonged to a raid1 data and metadata filesystem mounted
in degraded mode.
Unfortunately, I couldn''t save the image of filesystem but I could see

Hello,
I am working on a small booklet to be used with an existing statistics textbook. The purpose of the booklet is to give worked through examples from the textbook using R code and it will be made publicly available with the textbook. Well, I tend to disagree.
He did not say he'd want to use the R logo
and there is really nobody saying that "you should".
Using the letter 'R' as are regular word (noun) in a title is
perfectly fine.

Slow Printing from XP clients with SP2?
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
>From an XP machine printing to a SAMBA printer, printing is painfully slow.
Selecting the printer, and even sending the job through windows makes the app
appear non-responsive. The print job is completed fine, but just takes a long time
to print.
XP boxes with SP1 print like a dream. I've managed to replicate this on 4 boxes

Dear all,
I've written a small booklet on using R for time series analysis,
available here :
http://a-little-book-of-r-for-time-series.readthedocs.org/
<http://a-little-book-of-r-for-time-series.readthedocs.org/>
It is just a little booklet for beginners like myself (I am studying
Stats, and mostly wrote it to help myself study and understand this
material), but thought it

upgrading samba
Hello,
I'm looking to upgrade my Samba from 3.0.4 to 3.0.7. Samba is my PDC currently.
Are there any issues that I need to be aware of before I upgrade? Will I need to
re-join the domain after the upgrade?

Booklet on WxRuby2
Hi there,
I am planning to write a small booklet on WxRuby2. The approach will be
to "Document while you learn". I will be adding contents as and when I
explore WxRuby2.
I have just added a content skeleton. Please take a look at
http://wiki.sagework.com/BooksWxRuby and let me know if you have any
suggestions.
I will keep the list updated about the progress.

Domain problem with NT4 & Samba 3.0.2a
All,
I really need some help. I'm putting samba up on a new windows domain
called SIERRA. I'm using Samba 3.0.2a on Solaris 8. I'm barely
knowledgeable on Windows NetBIOS... but am good with Solaris. The
status is that I've got the daemons running and working normally. I
have 1 desktop with 1 PDC & 1 BDC in the SIERRA domain. On the desktop,
I can see both DC's but

Pretec Allegro does not appear to play Oggs
Can I change the wiki? The box claims it plays oggs, the tech. specs. in
the booklet claims it plays oggs, *some* places on the website claims it
supports oggs, but it doesn't actually play my oggs. Can I move it to a
"misadvertised" section, or a "rumours" section, or what can I do to
indicate this to other people, so they don't accidentaly buy it?

FOSDEM16: Graphics DevRoom: call for speakers.
Hi,
At FOSDEM on sunday 31st of january 2016, there will be another graphics
DevRoom. URL: https://fosdem.org/2016/
At first, I wanted to skip another year (like in 2011), as speaker
turn-out was disgracefully low last year. But when i heard from some
usual speaker suspects earlier this month (the first time anyone asked
me about a FOSDEM16 devroom btw), followed by the fact that the devroom

Still the same problems I'm afraid. I read the release notes and
followed them to the letter.
I'm now seeing:
