Debian Packages and Mirrors
FYI and to whom it may concern, I have made Debian packages of Asterisk et. al. You still need to build a new kernel and the zaptel modules from source, but Asterisk and libpri are manageable with dpkg. The debs as well as mirrors of the source distribution are here: http://www.ntgos.com/Projects/Asterisk/Download http://parc.styx.org/asterisk I would also like to mirror the CVS repository as

Dovecot 2.3.0 TLS
All, our dovecot installation provides a bundle of intermedia CA certificates using the ssl_ca option. 2.3.0 does not supply the bundle, resulting in various clients either complaining about an unverifiable server cert, or quietly not connecting. The log has Jan 5 17:01:46 Bounce dovecot: imap-login: Disconnected (no auth attempts in 0 secs): user=<>, rip=XXX, lip=YYY, TLS

0.99.10.6 -imap flag update problem still present
Hi, the email status problem that I reported for Dovecot 0.99.10.5 on June 3rd does still show up in 0.99.10.6. Quoting myself: (1) When new mail is delivered to the inbox, the last read mail(s) change(s) to "unread". Clients: Eudora 6 (Mac), Mozilla 1.6 (NetBSD, Linux, Win XP), MS Outlook. (2) When you attempt to move mails from the inbox to another folder with Mozilla (1.6 on

making an ext3 fs on a whole device
Hi folks, Yesterday I added a new disk to my box (sdb), and tried to 'mke2fs -j /dev/sdb' without making a partition on it firstly. mke2fs uttered some warning message asking me to confirm, and went on happily. Everything works fine after that, but I'm just wondering whether there's any difference or not between making fs on the whole block device and on a partition of it? Any

Wine on Fedora Core 4: Street Atlas 8 & wineconsole issues
I just did a fresh installation of Fedora Core 4, using my home directories from FC3, including my .wine. In the FC3 environment, I had used winetools to install. I did not want to do a fresh installation of wine, just use an RPM that would work. Alas, I had to fall back to 20041201. SA 8: I installed and uninstalled wine-20050524-1fc3winehq.athlon.rpm, wine-20050310-1fc3winehq.athlon.rpm

Is anyone successfully using Solaris 8/Samba 3.0.x w/ads and OpenLDAP > 2.1.22?
Has anyone had success getting OpenLDAP > 2.1.22 to work with Samba and ADS. I can get 2.1.22 to work with Samba 3.0.x. If I try a newer version, it barfs when it calls ldap_set_option in function ads_do_search. I've tried with 3.0.14a and 3.0.20pre2. They changed how OpenLDAP interacts with Kerberos after 2.1.23. I did exchange some emails with the OpenLDAP developers. It wasn't

Delorme Street Atlas 8 and ISO images
Being lazy, I'd just as soon not be swapping CDs in and out of the CD drive to use Street Atlas 8. So I slurped the SA 8 data CD into an ISO image, which I then mount as a loopback device. I created a symlink in ~/.wine/dosdevices, s: (and it took me a while to get the syntax for that right :-). winefile and fn.exe (http://www.charlescurley.com/fn.html) have no problems with the iso image. 0.99.10.5 imap flag update issues
Hi, there is an issue left in 0.99.10.5 which (I think) is a problem with imap status flags. It shows up in two places: (1) When new mail is delivered to the inbox, the last read mail changes to "unread". (2) When you move mails from the inbox to another folder with Mozilla (1.6 on win32, Linux, NetBSD), they are not removed from the inbox, effectively performing a copy instead of a

Messages disappear and reappear when I check mailbox using KMail
Not sure if this is a Dovecot bug or a KMail bug, but since it only seems to happen to people using KMail to access a Dovecot server or a Novell NetWare IMAP server, I thought I should mention it here. <http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121866> From the bug report: When I check for mail on an IMAP account (not disconnected), all recently-received messages disappear prior to any mail

SSL error after upgrading to 2.31

Since intermediate CA certs are usually valid a lot longer than the server certs, having to concat the certs is awkward, at best. I would very much like to see the pre-2.3 behaviour of "ssl_ca" restored.
