CD burning issues & questions
I have been having some strange results trying to burn CDs under CentOS. I don't think they are hardware related because I have had some success, in fact most of this usually works. I use k3b for most of my CD and DVD writing - it seems to work fairly well (well, except for wrecking my installation a few weeks ago when it crashed my installation and I had to reinstall to get it back, but

improving "file" to support http
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hey, would it be very hard to improve file''s source parameter to support downloading a file from a http server? I got some quite huge files (~100MB) to distribute and update on each of the servers, so doing this with puppet:// is a mess (and mostly failes with the known buffer error). Re: CentOS 3.4 Single CD "Server" version
Hey, Lance mentioned yum group install. This yum group capability makes the "server" CD's more versatile than the name implies -- you only need a broadband connection to get any kind of CentOS install you want. Start with a minimal install off the CD, and then use the yum group install to conveniently get the same install you could get off the 3 CD set (only more up to date).

Really dumb question
Just got dovecot running inside MEPIS 3.3.2 SOHO (debian). I am impressed. It works really well and I am planning to move my mail away from my Win server and access the mail from dovecot using imap. I have copied some folders from my existing Outlook mail system into the imap mail server without any problems....so here is the dumb question: where are the mail files/folders stored on the MEPIS

MD5Sum for CentOS-3.1 DVD iso?
Hello everyone. Thanks to everyone who made this project possible. This is my first post, although I have looked at the archives. I haven't found an answer to this in the archives, so I thought I would post it here. I've downloaded the DVD iso for CentOS-3.1 from BitTorrent, and I'm leaving my torrent open for another day or so to help out. I see there is an MD5Sum file for the

Re: Multiple ISO's
Simple one wine does not play well with ISO files. When you say cdrom drive wine is expecting to talk to exactly that. Wine is not a cdrom emulator and mount loop back is also not a virtual cdrom drive. If application asks wine to do a direct cdrom request command that is exactly what wine does. Mounted loop back iso's don't answer that so program fails. Nothing wrong with wine. Its

hostname and smbstatus
Hi, I'm having problems with seeing the hostname of a Linux box correctly under Samba with smbstatus. Background: I'm running Debian sarge with Samba 3.0.5 on a server that I built. It sits on our local network behind a Smoothwall firewall, which functions as a virtual nameserver using our ISP's DNS servers for resolution. I've been able to set up our Windows machines without

DVD burner in WINE
I have a program, ProShow Producer, that works flawlessly in WINE, but I need to use a DVD burner in it. The program will only export the DVD slideshows to a disc, not an image, so I need to be able to use the burner or somehow fake it and save to an image. Does anyone know how I can either get the burner working or (ideally) fake the burner and create an image instead?? Thanks so much for the
