Xen domU default gateway missing/ARP table full
I have been trying to figure out why my domU NIC becomes unreachable (could not even ping) at various times. (Normally when the server was trying to update clamav from the various busy mirrors at 4am). There also seemed to be some latency when connecting which I chalked up to it being a virtual machine. When I checked my logs, I found thousands of : Nov 17 04:07:52 nomad kernel: Neighbour

[PATCH] net: add ARP notify option for devices
From: Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@linux-foundation.org> This adds another inet device option to enable gratuitous ARP when device is brought up or address change. This is handy for clusters or virtualization. Signed-off-by: Stephen Hemminger <shemminger@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Jeremy Fitzhardinge <jeremy.fitzhardinge@citrix.com> ---

Race condition in sending gratuitous ARP for live migration ?
Hi, So, the issue is a fairly common one: Network doesn''t work for like a minute or so after a live migration. The setup is a debian wheezy dom0 with xen 4.1.2 running 3.6.11 kernel. The domU is a Ubuntu 12.04 with a 3.2 kernel. The networking setup uses bridges on the dom0. I also made sure that the bridge forwarding delay is set to 0. The VM doesn''t initiate any network

[LLVMdev] Unit testing frameworks
In a recent conversation with Chris it was brought up that the LLVM project doesn't have a way to incorporate fine-grained unit tests (in other words, tests that exersize the members of a single C++ class). I was wondering what is the general feeling about adding this to LLVM. Let me discuss some of the details: First, there is the question of a test framework. One possibility is to

Get back to the console with ssh access
Dear R users, I am currently learning how to work with a new shared computer (a Mac pro) in our lab, that is dedicated to execute R code for large simulations (over a few days). We have a VNC option to remote control the computer, with a shared used session, but this is not really needed in most of the cases. I would like to do some ssh access. This is pretty straigthforward, and I am able to

proxy arp & gratuitous ARP reply
Hello, My apologies if this isn''t the right place to send questions about this thread. I have a couple one''s about proxy_arp and gratuitous arp reply frames. I have setup the proxy_arp parameter on a linux system (kernel 2.4.20). Now, when I start a M$-Windoze machine it complain about "...duplicated IP address...". This is a know behaviour, and the solution is

Please advise: sending out bogus gratuitous ARP packet from vna
I''ve implemented code to send out bogus gratuitous ARP packet from vna in order to fix CR 6701114. The webrev is at: http://jurassic.eng/net/consulte.prc/export/build/xvm-6701114/webrev Some backgroud information (see CR 6701114 for more detail): During live migration of an xVM domain from one dom0 to another, the VNIC will be moved from one switch port to another. But, the

DHCP configuration for Cisco 7960?
(Apologies to those Toronto Asterisk Users' Group folks who have seen this message... I figured I'd have more success with a wider audience) I'm trying to boot a Cisco 7960 from an ISC DHCPD server (3.0.3 on FreeBSD 4.11), so far unsuccessful, and getting some odd behaviour on the wire. I wonder if anyone has done this before and therefore can validate whether or not the traffic I am

This is what I want to avoid :D I want an active Tinc virtual interface active with ip identical of the other firewall, without ip conflict on the same network. Do you know if Tun type virtual interface on one host can have same ip address of another host in the same network without ip conflict ? ie if a tun virtual interface can work active without transmitting on real network ? or if such a
