NFSv4 on CentOS 4.5
Hi. I'm having trouble accessing a shared directory over NFSv4 on a CentOS 4.5 machine. My export file reads /test 10.0.0.0/255.0.0.0(ro,async,insecure,nohide,no_subtree_check) Running the mount command with NFSv4 as the filesystem gives me a permission denied error. [root at pebble-anoop ~]# mount -v -t nfs4 pebble-anoop:/test/ /mnt/ mount: pinging: prog 100003 vers 4 prot tcp port

centos 7, docker, NFS and uid = -2
I created a centos 7 docker container in which I want to mount a NFS share in. Said share is owned by user virtual with uid 1200. So I do some exporting (docker container is in 172.17.0.0/16): spindizzy> cat /etc/exports /export 10.0.0.0/24(ro,fsid=0,no_subtree_check,sync) 172.17.0.0/16(ro,fsid=0,no_subtree_check,sync) [...] /export/mail 172.17.0.0/16(rw,root_squash,no_subtree_check,sync)

Unable to create raw volume on netfs storage (Operation not permitted)
Hello, we are trying to create a new setup with a centralized storage server. Currently we are running multiple "All-in-One" hosts using raw volumes stored on the local disk of the server. I tried it first with samba but it did not work so currently I have configured it as NFS. This is my current setup: For Storage: OS: Ubuntu 16.04 beta (to match vHost version), IP: 123.123.123.2

Hi Everyone, I have been trying to setup an NFS v4 File Server but have come across an odd issue. Mounting the /nfs4exports/share appears to be successful and the information displayed about partition size and free space seem correct but if I try to do anything inside the mounted directory the client will just hang. Does anyone have any idea what I am missing?? I have try disabling all

nfsv4 and kerberos - fails to mount
I have been trying all sorts of things to get this working. nfsv4 works fine if I just use the nfs-v3 form of export i.e. /nfs4exports 192.168.230.237/24(ro,fsid=0,sync,insecure,no_root_squash,no_subtree_check,squash_uids=0-99) /nfs4exports/NDG 192.168.230.237/24(rw,insecure,no_subtree_check,nohide,sync,no_root_squash,squash_uids=0-99) but this is inherently open to all on this machine. so then

exports options
I have been running a local repository on a CentOS4 server. It serves CentOS4 clients (and FC5, FC6, and SuSE10.x if I bother to mention). My current options for exports is (ro,wdelay,insecure,root_squash). The ro and insecure options were added manually and others are default. I understand 'sync' is the default although it is not shown by exportfs -v. I also found this description in

nfs4 help needed
Fedora 13 is using nfs4, and there is a problem in opening files requiring OpenOffice if accessed over an nfs3 mount, so it's time to change. I found a couple of tutorials, and got it *almost* working correctly. This is where I need help. Logwatch tells me /nfs4exports/Data1 and /Data1 have same filehandle for *,192.168.0.0/24,192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0, using first The tutorial I was

Here is my /etc/exports file: /data/vm 127.0.0.1(rw,no_root_squash,async,no_acl,wdelay,no_subtree_check) /data/iso 127.0.0.1(ro,no_root_squash,async,no_acl,wdelay,no_subtree_check) Here is the relevant /etc/fstab entry /dev/sda3/data ext3 defaults12 Things are working, but seem pretty slow. Re: [libvirt] Libvirtd running as root tries to access oneadmin (OpenNebula) NFS mount but throws: error: can’t canonicalize path
Hey John, Hehe, I got the right guy then. Very nice! And very good ideas but I may need more time to reread and try them out later tonight. I'm fully in agreement about providing more details. Can't be accurate in a diagnosis if there isn't much data to go on. This pool option is new to me. Please tell me more on it. Can't find it in the file below but maybe it's

Can you provide some more details with respect to which libvirt version you have installed. I know I've made changes in this space in more recent versions (not the most recent). NFS /home freezes.
My old nfs server was an old dual Xeon machine running debian. Everything worked fine. Then I switched over to a new Penguin Computer Altus 2600 (if Im not mistaken) with two Dual-Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 2210 and 4GB of ram. CentOS4.4 is running on it. Now here is the thing, this nfs server is exporting "/home" and all workstations mount the /home dir via fstab. Ever since I

NFSv4, homes, Kerberos...
Hi Marco, You will hit muliple problems, most can be solved. Im installing a new member here with samba 4.8.5 and building new samba 4.8.6 atm. ;-). Im (trying to ) fix this also again in this new setup. Below it a bit of what i know. > Client are in DHCP, so it is hard to use 'normal' NFSv3 mount, eg > security by IP.
