moderator of this mailinglist
Hi, It is not important how long I have been moderator for this mailinglist. Thing is that I'm thinking about stepping back. How would like to help the Syslinux project by moderating this ML? Returned mail: see transcript for details (fwd)
Every post I do to this mailinglist is followed by a bounce message from "centos.5.warren at recursor.net". I have no clue why this is being send to me, afaics some IP address is being blacklisted but I am not related to it. Am I the only one who gets this and can we remove this person from the mailinglist ? Kind regards, -- dag wieers, dag at wieers.com, http://dag.wieers.com/

CentOS mailing list probe message (fwd)
With the latest message I send to the CentOS list I got this strange 'probe' message. The included bounce example has nothing to do with my email-adres, but rather with someone subscribed to the list. So it seems that somehow the mailinglist manager is sending bounces to the wrong email-adres. Or I do not understand the 'probe' message (and the included bounce message) at all.

Thread moderation and list etiquette (Reference - Another Fedora Decision)
Hi, The thread titled "Another Fedora Decision" is rapidly turning into a political and opinion driven flame fest that is unsuited for the CentOS mailing list. This list should try and remain focused on CentOS, what we have and keep the area sane for new users as well as old hands to participate in a fair and thoughtful conversation around the CentOS Linux platform and the CentOS

Send in your favorite CentOS slogan today
Hi everyone, The CentOS project is looking for more slogans that may end up on promotional material (eg media, flyers, posters or stickers). We already collected a few funny, ironic, sarcastic or even distasteful ones. Feel free to visit our Slogans wiki page for a good laugh or rude offenses and add your own slogan by sending them to this thread. See: http://wiki.centos.org/Promo/Slogans

CentOS at FOSDEM
Hi all, FOSDEM is coming and it would be nice if CentOS users and developers are present. FOSDEM will take place at 24 and 25 february 2007. (so mark those dates in your calendar!) I guess what we need is a wiki page about FOSDEM linked from some 'CentOS events' page and then people can start planning and indicating who's coming and what the topics could be. Since the developer

AW: CentOS 5 release for IBM z/Series?
Hi dag! Thx for your reply! So, there will be no release in the near future of centos 5 for Z? At the moment we got a realy small z/linux installation, but i love it. Keeping the TCO as low as we can was necessary to satisfy the decision-maker. So we decided to choos a free linux distribution, centos was a good decicion we thougt. (redhat / fedora was always my favorite flavor *g*) It would

CentOS 3.9
Hi, Red Hat started releasing security advisories and update packages that are part of RHEL3 U9. Still, on RHN there are no RHEL3 U9 ISO images released yet. As usual, CentOS will make available CentOS 3.9 when it is deemed ready. So there is no need to ask when it is going to be released :) Kind regards, -- dag wieers, dag at wieers.com, http://dag.wieers.com/ -- [all I want is a warm

Spam to this list
Hi, I'm not sure what the policy of this list is and I bet everyone has a spam filter, so nobody might have noticed, but we got spammed. Can anyone send mail to the list or do you have to subscribe first ? -- dag wieers, dag@wieers.com, http://dag.wieers.com/ -- [all I want is a warm bed and a kind word and unlimited power]

Wayne, others, Using the same version on server and client, I still got this error. CentOS Events on wiki menu
Hi, Is it possible to rename the CentOS Events tab to simply Events ? The other tabs do not include CentOS either. For a published article today I required a desktop screenshot. However on 1024x768 with a non-fullscreen browser at wiki.centos.org, the number of tabs required me to make the browser-width larger than I liked it to be. Renaming "CentOS Events" to "Events"

Connecting CentOS to IPSEC VPN (Checkpoint FW1)
Hi, Does anyone have experience using IPSEC on CentOS in order to connect to vendor IPSEC-based VPN products (specifically Checkpoint FW1) ? Is the included IPSEC implementation sufficient, or do people have to rely on OpenSWAN or FreeSWAN ? I'd be testing tomorrow and I'm interested with experiences others have had and things to look out for. Thanks in advance, -- dag wieers, dag
