Vendors for phones
I'm in the process of setting up a test/demonstration system to show that VoIP is realistic and applicable for our needs. We put a 7905 and 7960 on a request for quote that went out the other day (to people like CDW & Microwarehouse). All of the vendors returned thier quotes without including the Cisco phones. So my question: where do you buy your phones? We can't buy direct from

pbx_spool and contexts
When I drop my file into the outgoing folder, the call is completed but the 'Context' entry is not respected. Instead, it drops into the default context. It does drop "properly" into the default context and function as would be expected. I looked through the source but didn't see any reason it would be completely ignoring the context. Call file: (where

Voicemail2 - auto fill the dialing extension?
Hi, First off, a big thanks to Digium (Mark, John, and Martin) for helping sort out a BellSouth config issue on our PRI. T100P working like a champ! Now it's back to tweaking the configuration on our SIP phones (7960s). The message_uri parameter in the phone's configuration file is working great. Dials comedian mail directly. Is there a way to let voicemail2 know what the incoming

7960 / MGCP
I've seen mention of it here and there... does anyone have mgcp working with a 7960? I've gotten the phone to work in "basic phone mode", is that all I'll get, or am I missing something? ___________________________________________________________ Steve Creel screel@turbs.com

Cisco 7960 or 7960G
Is there more than one version of the Cisco 7960? I see some items advertised as 7960 or 7960G, but searching on 7960 only brings up 7960G info, or ambiguous stuff. joe a.

Migration to Asterisk - Running off of Merlin Legend system
We currently have a Merlin Legend system. The voicemail is falling apart (with the transition to a 10 digit timestamp on Sept. 8, 2001, the system locked up and refused to take calls; the official solution is to change the system time back to a year with a matching calendar). We are in the process of preparing the network infrastructure to support a VoIP system with Asterisk, but won't be

Cisco 7960 lockups - any experiences?
This is almost certainly not an Asterisk-specific posting, but due to my inability to find a VoIP-focused Cisco list, I'll post here in the hopes of finding a more diverse user community. I am using a Cisco 7960 (version 6.0 SIP firmware) with Asterisk, and have been experiencing situations where the phone locks up. "Locks up" means that the bottom part of the screen

Directory App - excluding users...
Does anyone have any suggestions for excluding certain users from the directory? Can I just leave the 'Name' field empty in voicemail.conf Certain voicemail boxes shouldn't show up in the directory (company president, etc). I assume this can be handled safely by just leaving out the 'name' in voicemail.conf To go a step further, it would be good to allow them to put the

Cisco 7960 SIP Firmware.
Hi! The university where I work just bought four Cisco 7960G IP phones (they didn't ask, just came across the door and gave me a box and told me: "Can you make this work with the Asterisk PBX we have?"). According to what I read, there is no much hope, because I have not the SIP firmware (too bad). Has anybody succesfully got an answer from cisco?, or does anybody happend to

cisco 7960 G with *
hi! I'm looking for a robust hardware IP phone which supports SIP protocol inorder to implement a call centre. Have anyone used CISCO SIP phones (eg:- 7960G ) with asterisk. From what I know these CISCO IP phones are very robust and feature rich. Yet I'm nervous whether * don't like CISCO at all. Thoughts are most welcome. denzel. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML

Cisco 7960 SIP - DND soft key toggle?
Running the latest * CVS and Cisco 7960G and 7940G phones with SIP 6.3 image. I have figured out how to turn on the DND feature through the Settings>Call Preferences>Do Not Disturb - Yes then Save. This puts the phone into DND On and shows a DND image above the far right soft key which you use to turn off DND. There should be a better way. An on/off toggle of the soft key that it

Cisco 7914 Expansion Unit (for 7960G IP Phone) & Help With 7960's Speed-dials
Hi, Has anybody been successful in running the 7914 expansion unit for the Cisco 7960G IP phone? For anybody unaware of what the expansion unit does, it provides 14 additional buttons, with an LCD display. The idea, is that with an expansion unit (a 7960 can take upto 2 of these units), a user can either assign more speed-dial's, or can monitor line status/account status. So, you can
