Re: Applications of TDMoE "critch"
Juan, I dont see people here with "attitude" or any need to shut down this list as you suggested. Contrary to your experience, I find people to be quite helpful here. Steven's comment "Start here and then ask a real question" is definitely not arrogant IMHO. He is just trying to knock some etiquette on Luan. Besides, he did give him all the answer Luan was looking for.

Multiple outgoing calls through VOIP providers
Trying to get some straight info from the VOIP providers is difficult. Say there's a small Asterisk switch and it's registered with Broadvoice or LiveVOIP or someone. There are a couple of people using the switch, one is on an outgoing call with the VOIP provider. What happens when someone else initiates another outgoing call through that provider on the same SIP registry? Does * know

Best or any VoIP provider that works with *?
Suggestions on a VoIP provider that works with *? I know there is vonage.com but have read numerous bad things about their agreement and that you don't get a username and password from them rather a preconfigured Cisco ATA 186 that you are not allowed to get in to. Top most being you have to use a X100P with them to work with * which in my mind is just too many links in that chain. I have

Pigeonhome Sieve: check existence of a folder?
Dear All, Thanks ofr the great job so far. I have crawled the doc & web, and did not find oh to check for the presence of a folder ina? a mailbox? I know about "fileinto :create" of course, but the purpose is slightly different: I want to automate the move into a folder based on some rules but *only if* an associated folder is present (which name is based on the rule),

What are the various models of DID providers
Hi, Inspired by a recent rant about one particular provider, I am getting very curious about something I've never mastered. I'd like someone to explain this here or at least post a link or two that can educate me and probably countless others who have no knowledge in this area. I'm sure there are several of you reading this that know all about the subject. What are the various

Land line vs. VoIP provider.
Residential Long Distance. One of my biggest pushes towards a VoIP provider was cheap long distance. Now in the U.S. at least with SBC they now have a plan for Unlimited Long Distance. The price is 30.00 a month if you do not have a couple of required features on the line already like Caller ID and a feature like 3 Way or Call Waiting etc. in which case that lowers the price to 20.00 a month.

Weird IAX2 problem
I have an inbound and outbound account with Voicepulse (I am very happy with the service, btw). But I have a weird IAX2 problem. When I get a inbound call on my Voicepulse DID, the call hits my asterisk server correctly with the correct callerid (the DID phone number 617902xxxx). when the call gets passed on to a softphone (X-lite), the caller id that shows up on the X-lite softphone as Lee ,

Help with concurrent VoIP calls
Hi. I'm having trouble figuring out why I'm not able to make many concurrent VoIP calls on my system. I'm not aiming for a huge number, because I have purposely bought a low powered system, but I would think that I could get more. Here are the details: I have a small-form-factor Asterisk server with an Intel Atom 230 CPU (1.6 GHz, 533 MHz FSB) and 512 MB DDR2 533. It is running Ubuntu

VoIP providers -- California, U.S.
Hi, Just wondering if people could suggest a good VoIP provider that can service the San Francisco Bay Area and the Los Angeles area. I've tried race.com (recommended to me) but they're kind of hard to get ahold of. Any other suggestions? This is for a business, so reliability is key. I did see the recent thread about this, and while I saw a few mentioned, I didn't see anything

PSTN Incoming call on real line disrupts VoIP call over DSL circuit
I haven't seen anything this strange, and it's 100% reproducible. I'm hoping that there are some clever ideas out there for what to look for, since I can test to my heart's desire on this one... My Dad lives in Florida, and has a Bellsouth DSL line. Of course, he has a regular POTS line connected on the same line. He has the appropriate filters on every jack that has a phone

Looking for a VoIP solution...
Hello all! Please forgive me if I am asking stupid questions, I am new to implementing VoIP as PBX. I am currently employed at a Tifton, GA-based peanut shelling facility and I am looking for a VoIP system to tie our 2 locations together. The plant and the main office were originally separate, so each has their own (different) phone system. Each side has 4 incoming analog lines and about a dozen

PSTN Access Providers for Asterisk
Asterisk Users, I'm looking for U.S. providers that will provide access to the PSTN and allow me to easily use my Asterisk box with their services. I would prefer a provider that supports number portability, so that I can park my existing cell number on their network and later move it again, but I'm open to doing some funky stuff with call forwarding if I have to do that. Can anyone

Satellite Providers
Hi All, I am investigating the deployment of VoIP/* in Eastern European areas where there is no PSTN infrastructure. As you can understand DSL/Cable connections are a dream. The only option is satellite. Does anyone know of any satellite providers that have low enough/acceptable delays for VoIP? Thanks, Yiannis.
