Sorry, Newbie here
I never heard of Asterisk before today, but from what i'm looking at on the website and hearing, it sounds pretty incredibly. If I understand correctly with a 1,500.00 Wildcard TE410p T1 card, a good BSD or Linux Server, and a couple IP phones or Netmeeting on a few workstations, and of course, Asterisk which is free; I call have a small call center.
This can't be? I was looking at

inference from dual frame surveys using R
Good afternoon!
My question is more of a "is there a package for doing........?" an inference regarding the mean, median, regression estimates, etc. by using the information from dual frame surveys? (this methodology is based on the work of BANKIER 1986, SKINNER 1991, LOHR and RAO 2000...)
If one has 2 independent studies which both independently measure a trait of a

Call recording
Hello,
How would I go ahead a record all phone calls into and out of my
asterisk server. I know the legality issues behind it, but I could
always play a recording to let people know they will be recorded.

Distinctive rings
Is it possible to allow distinctive rings work for FXS ports as well?
I need a certain FXS extension to ring a distinctive double ring.
I modified zapata.conf appropriately for dring1,dring2 and it just
Seems to ignore my updates.
Do distinctive rings only work for FXO ports?

Cisco 7960 SIP V6 and distinctive ring.
Hi
Can anyone with distinctive ring on their 7960's possibly post how they've got it to work?
I understand that the ALERT_INFO variable is involved but using the examples for the variable value from the WiKi I'm just getting an error message from the Asterisk concole.
Thanks in advance.

Feature request: ProxyJump with Unix sockets
Dear developers,
The ProxyJump feature is nowadays implemented on the basis of a TCP port forwarding on the jumping host, isn't it?
As a result, this is affected by a AllowTcpForwarding=no configuration on the jumping host.
So, may I suggest a variant based on Unix sockets (such as -L or -R does).
Nice idea, isn't it?
Any volunteer to implement this?
Best regards
Christophe

Wacko Distinctive Ring Patterns being detected??
Hi All,
I've recently got a "second" number installed on my PSTN line,
trusting the Asterisk distinctive ring detection would work as
expected. It appeared to work fine at the start, as the second number
generated a different ring pattern to 0,0,0 (in the console) only to
realise that almost every phone call to this "second" number generated
a different ring pattern.

Can I add distinctive ring with asterisk and TDM400?
Hello -
I have a TDM400P with 2 FXO and 2 FXS modules.
Feeding the FXS modules are two VOIP lines which are terminated by
VOIP adapters and have regular RJ11 wires connecting to the FXS ports.
Since the two different VOIP lines have different phone numbers, and I
know and can tell asterisk which VOIP line is connected to which FXS
port, can I cause a distinctive ring on the extensions if a call

SPA-3000 and distinctive ring
I'm looking to give the SPA-3000 a whirl as I'm having too much
difficulty with the irq sharing thing inside the box.
I'm reading the book but without having one in-hand to play with it
appears a little obtuse at this time. Before I drop down my money can
someone with some hands-on with one of these confirm if the SPA-3000
can:
a) detect inbound distinctive ring (this looks to me like

Distinctive ringing on Cisco 79xx
Greetings, I am trying to implement distinctive ringing on a Cisco 7960.
I have tried setting alert_info to chirp1 or chirp2 before dialing the
phone, but it has no affect. If you have successfully implemented
distinctive ringing on a 7960, I would really appreciate seeing the snipit
of code that works.
Thanks in advance

Distinctive ring confusion
I am somewhat unsure as to the definition of "Distinctive Ring".
What I am trying to achieve is to have Zap connected phones (TDM400P)
ring with different cadences depending on whether the call is incoming
on the PSTN context or an IAX2 context.
Googling, I find this from Mark:
I've added distinctive ring support to Asterisk now (also I've added
answer confirmation which is

Distinctive Ring on SPA941
Does anyone know how to set the distinctive ring on the Linksys SPA941?
I want to be able to dial one extension and have the phone ring with a
certain tone and then dial another and have the phone ring with a
different tone. I have tried the following

Distinctive Ring detection and caller ID
I have a line from BT (UK) connected to my asterisk system, on a
TDM400P.
I am able to see either distinctive ring cadences or caller ID but not
both. If I try to enable both, all drings show up as 0,0,0.
This is a pain because, if I make a call out over that line and the
number I call is busy, I can elect to camp on it (ringback), which
results in a different cadence of ring when the called

Distinctive ring for INTERNAL calls only? How to do it?
Hi Everyone,
Using Elastix (FreePBX + Asterisk 1.4.2x combination) with Aastra phones,
how can one receive distinctive ring tones for INTERNAL calls ONLY?
Even though FreePBX Inbound has an option for Alert_INFO but that doesn't
work when the call comes into an IVR or Queue. The calls has to go directly
to extension for external ringtone to be different. So, I am looking for
internal calls

create distinctive ring on FXS
Hi,
I use Asterisk at home to filter the annoying people before they get a real voice. So basically if you don't know the extension of one of the occupants you have no choice but leave a message. Works well... perhaps I miss some improtant calls, but if you leave no message it must not be important!
Anyhow, I would like to be able to make the phone ring distinctively depending on who the

Distinctive ring Issues

We have a PSTN line with four numbers calling into it. There is
distinctive ring on these lines. They are are follows:
1. standard ring
