Updated Asterisk-NL
I have updated the voice prompts (mostly small fixes, but still work left to be done - however, it's usable now, I'd say) and the patch file (to current CVS) for Asterisk-in-Dutch. As far as I can tell, all of the grammar work is now in - if anyone has feedback to share, please do so before I spend lots of time cleaning up the patches so they can be integrated back.

Prompt recording
Does anybody have useful tips on creating good quality recordings for use with prompts in asterisk? I'm interested in hearing input on hardware (mics, dats, sound cards, etc) and software (recording software, dsp) as well as recording techniques. Jerimiah Tularosa Communications

* Party in Paris
I'm coming to Paris Dec 19. I was wondering if there was any interest in having an Asterisk get together in Paris sometime near there. Any one out there interested? Anyone in Paris who could help organize something like that? :) Mark

PRI(E1) Call recording with Digium cards?
Hi, I've been asked to see whether it is possible to do call logging for call center environments at a lower budget than the usual $1000 per channel. Afaik, with PRI this is possible through a high-impendance Y connection, but I wonder whether this would work with the Zapata cards. Anyone ever tried this? Samba 3 and LDAP - Error loading profiles
Hi, I'm setting up Samba with ldap backend and everythin appears to be working correctly except for profiles. Using: samba-3.0.2 openldap-2.1.26 smbldap-tools-0.8.4 When a user 'testa' tries to logon from a Win2K system that has joined the domain he gets the following error message: "Windows did not load your roaming profile and is attempting to log you on with your local

*, Fritz!PCI and strange behavior
I'm testing * (CVS-09/16/03-02:07:49 with zaprtc 0.0.1) with Fritz!PCI (chan_capi 0.3.0), and have a couple of funny things - I wonder if anyone else has seen them: - Now and then, * just exits. Until now I had lowish-level verbosity on, so all I saw was 'Executing last minute cleanups'. What can trigger * exits? (in other words, what should I pay attention to when attempting to

help with functions
Hi all, I have got 2 function (see bellow) which are simplifications of what I need to do. These functions are precisely the same, except for the last line. My question is, why doesn't function testA work in the same way as function testB. Both functions produce two objects, "a" and "b" that must merged with rbind. The difference is that in testA, I specify the name

Multiple SIP registrations for one account?
Hi, For various reasons a customer of mine is moving from a SER-based to an Asterisk-based installation, mostly because of problems with SIP devices behind NAT trying to reach each other and because it's easier to do accounting when all calls go through Asterisk (canreinvite=no is the idea). The database-based SIP registration mechanism of Asterisk seems to have one shortcoming - it

Problem with plotting size/location on variation of star/segment plot
Dear R gurus, I'm running into a problem with some modified segment plots I've coded using stars(). What I am trying to do is superimpose two series of data along with radial axes markers in a 2x2 graphics frame. This is working fine now, except for the hitch: my plots overfill the frame and are not centered within it (on my runs they always end up looking like they've been budged

Samba4 segfault
Hi, during my tests to use Samba4 as a kdc for kerberized NFS, I found a bug in the KDC code, when generating a principal without pac (e.g. with msktutil and option --no-pac), that causes Samba4 to crash: Running the following command on one of the client machines msktutil -c --upn nfs/testa.linex.org -h testa.linex.org --computer-name testa-service-nfs --server s4-dc1.linex.org --no-pac

Asterisk in Dutch
I have just completed a set of voice files in Dutch, plus a patch that forces Asterisk to sane (i.e. Dutch ;-)) behaviour when composing dates, times, numbers, etcetera. The current release, 0.0.1, is a sort of pre-release - some known issues have been identified, but I nevertheless would like to have some feedback so we can do a minimum number of polishing rounds. The patch is a bit

iaxtel and iax.conf
I have tried for over a month off and on to get iaxtel for inbound to work... and tonight after alot of troubleshooting we noticed this: iaxtel inbound will use the last entry in your iax.conf to auth against. So if [iaxtel] is at the top and say [voicepulse] at the bottom. An inbound call will try to auth against that [voicepulse] entry even with the [iaxtel] entry at the top of the file. Has

CISA et al: "Exploring Memory Safety in Critical Open Source Projects"
Has anyone done any initial research into how much effort it would take to port OpenSSH to Rust? If not, I might find that interesting to start. (Mind you, this would be just to get a handle on the project, not do the full porting work--unless it somehow turns out to be very easy.) - Joe -- Joseph S. An Analysis of the DHEat DoS Against SSH in Cloud Environments
In the upcoming v9.8 release notes I see "the server will now block client addresses that repeatedly fail authentication, repeatedly connect without ever completing authentication or that crash the server." Has this new PerSourcePenalties config directive been tested against the DHEat attack? - Joe On Thu, 2024-04-25 at 18:09 -0400, Joseph S. Testa II wrote: > A few days ago, I

some domains resolving issues
Hello. I have two records in dialplan: exten => testA,1,Dial(PJSIP/outgoing/sip:thetestcall at sip.linphone.org) exten => testB,1,Dial(PJSIP/outgoing/sip:thetestcall at iptel.org) Calling testA works fine while testB fails with "CONGESTION". Adding debug for console shows that pjsip_resolver.c does `New queries added, performing parallel resolution again` for linphone after
