WAS: Stupid hold music NOW: list gripes
>Anyway, isn't time to split this list in "strictly technical... >And lest we forget, another split for the Cisco/Polycom/Snom/othersipphone configurations... That would be short-sighted imo. Splitting the list or goofy offers to do the list as a PHPbb, NNTP, or other forums would only serve to dilute the value of the collective wisdom of the people on this list. Suppose the

Documentation gripes
I have been a member of the mailing list for a couple months now. I have not contributed anything because it has been difficult to gain a toehold from which I could really understand the concepts used in Ogg Vorbis. I would like to help out, but it is hard to get an idea of the overall architecture with docs like http://www.xiph.org/ogg/vorbis/doc/vorbis.html , in which every link is dead.

Centos 6 First Install, gripes - cool things- tips/help
Finally got a new server the other day. You know I had to try out centos 6 with this one. dual quad cores, 24 gb ram (12 for each cpu) 6 working drives bays. My first big surprise was the partition system with anaconda. It is a lot different than the centos 5.x version. I am sure it is a bug that it has options for hot spares but does not allow it to be ungreyed out. I think in the end I will

AWDR Edition 2 Gripe
Maybe it''s just me.. But the cover is hideous. I love the first edition cover, it seems to fit perfectly. The new "hip" cover is a bad choice, in my opinion. grumble/gripe ... fifo: read fault ... channel 12 killed! (eternal freeze-frame)
Twice now with v4.15-rc6, my display has gone belly up. Note: swiotlb: suppress warning when __GFP_NOWARN is set v2 is applied, but I don't _think_ it was the first time it happened. Wiki Gripe
I know this isn''t productive, but I must say that I absolutely hate the wiki. I''ve never been able to use it for more than a couple minutes before it completely farts out. Please fix the wiki! Survey: Grandstream improvements.........
Hi List, I had a wonderful meeting with GS's President last week and he is very interested in feedback on what top features, functions, bugs the community would like to see in upcoming firmware. Please keep in mind that adding new features take time to develop, test and such. So please rate your ideas on a scale of 1-10 1 = Nice to have some day 10 = Got to have it right now Things

Using FileCheck in unit tests
When writing MachineFunction unit tests, I find it quite tedious to verify correctness in C++. I would like to use FileCheck in UnitTests because FileCheck is extremely convenient/robust to verify correctness. In order to do so, I moved most of FileCheck’s implementation into a header (Support/FileCheck.h) and updated FileCheck.cpp to use this. I ran into this while writing some target agnostic

list assignment syntax?
Dear R wizards: is there a clean way to assign to elements in a list? what I would like to do, in pseudo R+perl notation is f <- function(a,b) list(a+b,a-b) (c,d) <- f(1,2) and have c be assigned 1+2 and d be assigned 1-2. right now, I use the clunky x <- f(1,2) c <- x[[1]] d <- x[[2]] rm(x) which seems awful. is there a nicer syntax? regards, /iaw ---- Ivo Welch

gcc 8 gripes (when using './configure --enable-gcc-warnings'): nbd.c: In function 'nbd_open': nbd.c:470:3: error: 'strncpy' specified bound 108 equals destination size [-Werror=stringop-truncation] strncpy (sock.sun_path, sockname, sizeof (sock.sun_path)); The warning is a false positive, given that we currently reject names >= sizeof(sock.sun_path), and thus we are

smallest phone
Folks, I'm looking for a SIP or IAX phone for field techs to take with them when out on service calls. The regular desktop phones are just way too big. Is there anything like the size of a full-sized cell phone? Or smaller, not I doubt that... Tim --

Alternative to storing ActiveRecord object in session
I''m writing a wizard-like module in my application where, in a series of steps, the user builds upon an ActiveRecord object, and in the end, saves the AR object into the database. The ActiveRecord object is fairly complex, with a has_many association that could potentially get large, so I don''t want to store it directly in the session. In fact, having done so already caused a

eRuby & Rails: Not Compatible
I''m new to Ruby, Rails, and this list. I''ve tried searching for an answer but it all seems to be over my head. I have all the books but again they seem to leave me on my own to figure out the stuff that really matters. Where is the best place to find out the details? Exactly what are these much celebrated "naming conventions"; i.e. where do I find an exhaustive

A little bit of sugar
Hi Do a search on ''wxruby'' and you''ll see that people''s main gripes are 1) stability 2) development progress 3) documentation and 4) syntax. We''re making great progress on 1-3 so thought it seemed like a good time to start looking at 4). So here''s announcing a first release of WxSugar. It can be downloaded via gems (gem install wx_sugar)

DISREGARD!! Broadvoice outgoing problems
... I just tried again after removing my hosts file entry (again) and outbound is now working! I had taken it out before, but I think I was getting a different error at the time. Sometimes it seems like asking for help is itself a cure! Thanks anyway! JDC
