Gastman and SIP?
I have been testing Gastman and Astman with SIP calls. As I have no Zap
phones, so I have a few question on what is normal behavior? When a call
comes in and I have created extensions for all phones (example: Channel
= "SIP\3846") Should the little lines connect between the pre-made
extension or should they pop up temporary icons with no connection to
the hand made extensions? The

Creating conference calls from within Astman.
Dear All,
I have a requirement to 'originate' a number of calls to various external
users from within a conference room, so that the end users does not pay for
the call.
I know that within Astman I can define an extension and then originate the
call from that extension. Can I define a conference room (how would I
configure that on astman? What channel would it use?) and then generate a

Line going to Zombie
I have a problem that sometimes lines will go into what I call never never land. The Asterisk system will put a line with <Zombi> on it when you type show channels it will make the analog phone line dead. And on the CLI it says:
astsvr*CLI>Zap/1-2<ZOMBIE>(macro-twoline-exten,s,1)Up Dial Zap/1-2|20|r
I have tried to release it with soft hangup Zap/1

astman
has any body considered using astman/gastman to show
a) sip/iax etc registry status with other *
b) manage multiple * boxes
would this be any use, i was just thinking if some tech support has to
handle multiple * for one organization, it may be worthwhile to have
mutiple * boxen become part of one REALM and manage that realm, or maybe
some other way, but i'm sure we can find someone to

Gastman crashes on Win32
Hi,
The Win32 binary of Gastman crashes on Windows 2000 SP4. Same case on all my machines, no error, no log.
Although, the CVS version works great on Linux.
Is it anybody who knows how to compile it with mingw32 ? Or better, could anyone, who already has mingw32 installed, make a binary snapshot ?
Thanks in advance,
Jean-Christophe

Gastman
I've tried the precompiled version of gastman, but it does'n work properly under windows, so I would like
to try to compile it under windows, so maybe it begins to work.
I've tried to compile gastman with mingw, but the db3.1 libraries request the cygwin include files and libraries.
Then I've copied the cygwin's include files and libraries to mingw's directory,
but the make

Gastman compile errors
I seem to be encountering a problem with the db.h file when compiling
gastman. Incorrect definitions for functions and so on. Here are the errors:
If I don't copy the db.h from asterisk source to the include directory
of gastman I get:
gui.c:31:16: db.h: No such file or directory
If I do then I get:
gui.c:743: too many arguments to function
This is for the line:

get these at the Internet but I didn?t get all and
somethings with erros.
I would like to know with there is a path with all
libraries necessary to compile the gastman and how

Asterisk vs. Vocal (Vovida) vs. Bayonne
Folks,
I love Asterisk, have been using it for a while now. I'd like to know if
anyone has some good comparison points on Asterisk vs. Vocal (Vovida) vs.
GNU Bayonne. I know only a little about the later two.
Also, one drawback I've hard about Asterisk (not for me, but for general
consumption/deployment) is easy of configuration -- people like GUIs. They
want point-n-click. I'm a

Tonight I thought I might start hacking on gastman to extend the features in
the directions that I would like. Except then I got stuck, because some

New gastman clone + what else?
I have hired someone to do some work on asterisk for me over the next couple
of months, before they start, I would like to get a better idea of what
other people need, which I can then dovetail into what I think my own
'requirements' are...
Initially, a largish area that I think needs to be worked on is some sort of
gastman type interface which will run on MS Windows, and be usable for a

Administrative suggestions
Hi there,
mostly based upon list postings I compiled a couple of administrative
suggestions on the Wiki page below. I'd be glad to have this reviewed and

Gastman and New Extension
I finally got Gastman to compile but I get a bunch of "failed

gastman executable for Win32?
Does anyone have a recent build of gastman for Win32 that they would
be willing to post or email? (I can host it if you want to share.)
The newest version I can find is here:
  ftp://ftp.digium.com/pub/gastman/
It's a year old, and crashes (Illegal Instruction) on most events.
Does anyone have something newer?
I tried building from source under cygwin, and got far enough to

Billing/Call Control engine : AGI scripts/ AstMan API
Hello ppl,
Have implemented a really nice Billing engine using AGI scripts. So far
it works fine, tho haven't yet put it in the torture cell.
The AGI scripts have been written in PHP, using MySQL for the billing
and profile information.
The major disadvantages I see using AGI scripts :
1. A new process(invocation of PHP scripts) on every new call.
2. MySQL connections on every instance of

gastman manual?
hi
I'm running SIP (msn messenger), MGCP (dlink hardphone), H.323 (soon -
netvision 802.11 phone) and CAPI (AVM C2). Can I plot in the known extensions
and use gastman to tranfer calls? I've tried, but no calls was visualized
from the extensions I created ...
and - no - I couldn't find it after RTFM

Astsee v0.1 released - an Asterisk channel monitor for linux/X windows
Hiya everyone. I have been working on a fun little app to watch what's
going on in your asterisk box via its manager interface. There's a
screenshot up and some info at http://sitkavoip.com/astsee/ -- Sorry it
requires allegro, but I was more keen about getting the ideas down than
worrying about the framework.
Comments/questions welcome, but probably off-list is best unless they

SIP call transfers - any other way than using '#' ?
If you make an outgoing call to a conference bridge (or anything else that
needs DTMF '#') then you can't use the asterisk 'T' transfer option because
that is triggered by the '#" also. Is there already a solution in # for
this eg use two keys to trigger a transfer rather than just the '#'?
