Newbie Instalation
Trevor, I'm in a fairly similar situation, but maybe a week or two ahead of you. I'll post this so that maybe you can pick something up, but also so that the gurus of this list can maybe glean some info on how perceptions of the OOB (Out-of-Box) experience are as well..:) My background: - Fairly skilled on IBM's AIX (their unix flavor) from a command-line perspective. NO GUI. -

[PATCH] pci/msi: disable MSI on big-endian platforms by default
It appears that MSI does not work on either G5 PPC nor on a E5500-based platform, where other hardware is reported to work fine with MSI. Both tests were conducted with NV4x hardware, so perhaps other (or even this) hardware can be made to work. It's still possible to force-enable with config=NvMSI=1 on load. [PATCH] ioemu: don''t expose MSI/MSI-X capabilities to IA64 HVM guest in ioemu.
At present IA64 Xen doesn''t support MSI for passthrough, so let''s not expose MSI/MSI-X capabilities to IA64 HVM guest for now. Thanks, -- Dexuan _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-devel

[PATCHv3 07/13] qemu: minimal MSI/MSI-X implementation for PC
Implement MSI support in APIC. Note that MSI and MMIO APIC registers are at the same memory location, but actually not on the global bus: MSI is on PCI bus, APIC is connected directly to the CPU. We map them on the global bus at the same address which happens to work because MSI registers are reserved in APIC MMIO and vice versa. Signed-off-by: Michael S. Tsirkin <mst at redhat.com> ---
