Disabling zap echo cancellor from dialplan
Anybody knows if it's possible to disable zap echo cancellor from
dialplan only for certain outbound calls ??
I share the same phone lines for voice calls and faxes. Iaxmodem works
fine for me only turning off the echo cancellor, but I need it for
voice calls.
Any ideas ?

Linux SMB Server: Put Multiple Devices into One Share?
I haven?t used Samba for over a decade and, from what I remember, I don?t think this is possible. Whenever I search for "two mount points" or "multiple mount points," I get hits for "multiple users," but not for mount points.
I have the following directories I want to share through Samba:
/share1/DVR
/share1/Audio
/share2/Video
/share2/Backups
/share1 is on

Linux SMB Server: Put Multiple Devices into One Share?
Hello Jeremy,
I think you missed a "/" in:
mount --bind /share1/DVR /medium/DVR
mount --bind /share1/Audio /medium/Audio
mount --bind /share2/Video /medium/Video
mount --bind /share2/Backups /medium/Backups

Echo cancellor on Windows, a few questions.
what i want to achieve is simple, i want to be able to sitback in my chair

what i am doing is this :
First, each time i finish writing a block to the waveout, i copy it into a
buffer like this:
Segment *pseg = (Segment *)phead;

surveillance DVR
Does anyone know of a DVR that runs Linux that does NOT USE Active-X,
and/or allows logging in directly?
All I keep running into are crap that ->requires<- IE, and don't allow
directly logging in.

it gave the following errors:

Echo cancellor
jean -
there is a new header for echo cancellation in 1.1.7. can you give me any
pointers about playing with it? i didn't see any sample code that uses it.
should the speex manual be updated to reflect this and the preprocessor
API? is there anything i can do to help with the documentation?
this week, i shall submit the tested binaries for ARM with 1.1.7.

OT hardware question
With the continuing annoyance from motion, my manager's asked me to go
looking again for a video surveillance appliance: basically, a
motion-detecting DVR and cameras. The big thing, of course, is a) price
(this is a US federal gov't agency, and being civilian, money is *tight*,
don't give me the libertarian/GOP line about how freely we spend,
thankyouverymuch), b) it has to be on the

AEC troubleshooting
First of all, thank you for your input Tim. That is very helpful.
I would love to hear from other people with experience of AEC and Speex.
I guess I have to split my question into to parts now.
1.
Is it a fact that using the windows multimedia API (wave audio) for audio
capture and playback makes it impossible to do echo cancellation with Speex
AEC or other EC method due to inprecise timing?

Unanswered question
How long does one have to typically wait for an answer to a post?
Tomorrow my message will have been up a week, and I've gotten no replies.
It was about whether a file, while it was being written to, could subsequently be opened by another client for reading. I used a DVR with chasing play as an example. Didn't seem like that difficult of a question, but maybe it isn't geeky

EyeMax DVR
I have an application that I'm trying to get to work in Wine: EyeMax DVR.
Everything seems to work aside from being to intialize the drives (the biggest part) I have no idea what initializing the drives does, I've never seen what it's supposed to do.
I know that the Software is made to be able to write video to drives 24/7, because it's used for security systems.

Problem with booting/grub (?)
Earlier this evening, I had the interesting experience of shutting down
my machine (because of that lp out-of-sync problem, discussed
elsewhere), and watching it not come back up. I admit that I changed
out one of my DVD writers for another one, but I don't understand how
that could have had any effect on this:
When I restarted the machine, it came up to the point where it normally

I actually forgot to mention that I'm using ultra-wideband mode, but seems
like you understood that anyway. Is this true that Speex echo cancellation
only performs well in narrowband mode !?
I've been using 100 ms as the default tail length. I don't know what the
ideal tail length would be. I have tried shorter and longer tails but it
hasn't made any difference.
