eRm - Rasch modeling - First item missing from estimation
I'm trying to kick off some of the rust and learn some of the R packages
for Rasch modeling. When I tried using the eRm package, I get item
difficulty estimates for all my items accept the first (in terms of order)
item.
#Begin code
library(eRm)
r.simulation <- sim.rasch(20,100)
r.data <- r.simulation$items
#eRm results
erm.rasch <- RM(r.data)

eRm/raschsampler error message
Hi, I am running the non-parametric rasch model tests using eRm. I have a
reasonably large dataset for this type of exercise (110 items, 248 persons).
I run:
> allb2=as.matrix(allb)
> rsample <- rsampler(allb2, ctr)
> t102<-NPtest(rsample, method="T10") #global test, subgroup inv
and receive error message as follows.

Ability Estimates for Repeated Measurements in the eRm Package
Dear R Users,
I am using the LLTM and the LRSM functions in the eRm package to do repeated
measurements where there are 2 measurement points for a list of 10 items. I
am trying to get ability estimates but am having trouble. I don't think
that it is appropriate to use the pmat function since the person parameters
are based on all 20 items. Rather, I think it would be more appropriate to

Cisco Gear
Hi,
I know it's not really the place, but if anybody in the UK (or US) is
interested, I'm clearing out lots of new Cisco stock...

7935's (conference phone) and 3550-24-PWR switches.
I also have boxes of 7914's, the single-7914 foot stand and double-7914

How is R working in multicore and multiprocessor environment?
My Dear R buddies,
I'm feeling ashamed that I've been running my R program on some
servers for a while but do not know exactly how R is working. The
servers are chained together using Sun Grid Engine. Each node has 8
quad-core CPUs. I wonder how many cores and CPUs are used by a simple
single-thread R program. Thanks a lot.
Best wishes,

Feature request: usernames and passwords
A relatively recent development that spammers got wind of is users that
have username==password, with/without the domain.
I am tracking numerous 1-off attempts from bots to gain access to
mailboxes this way.
Situation isn't made any better if you're also using dovecot as SMTP
AUTH provider for I am ashamed to admit I've relayed some spam that way.

Cisco 7960s
Cisco should really be ashamed of this product...
While it is physically well constructed, and has excellent sound quality along with a very pleasant user interface, the device has SERIOUS stability issues, unless you run your network with an iron fist...
Quite by accident, while configuring my Asterisk system to connect to a Cisco 7960 via SIP in a standard office PBX type arrangement, I

eRm package - Rasch simulation
When I try to create a Rasch simulation of data using the sim.rasch
function, I get more items than I intend
#My code

#Number of participants
n <- 100
#Create Rasch Data
#sim.rasch(persons, items, seed = NULL, cutpoint = "randomized")
r.simulation <- sim.rasch(n,k)
I end up with 20 participants and 100 items, but the instructions say

Replacing all NA values in a matrix
OK, dumb question, and it is probably in the docs somewhere, but after
12 months working with R and quite a while looking at the docs, I still
don't know (or have forgotten) how to replace all NA values in a matrix
at once with some other value. I can do it column by column using
is.na(), but I can't figure out how to do it for the whole matrix. My
apologies, I am ashamed ;-)

Does mock_model''s :null_object option work?
Please understand in the following that I am making relatively minor changes to legacy (non-TDD/BDD) code in Substruct and don''t have the time to refactor nicely right now. I''m just trying to get past the untested/un-speced cruft quickly to write the spec for my new code, so I''m looking for expediency over prettiness.

Stories (well, integration tests) which aren''t plain text
Hi,
Having just played with getting my first plain text story working, I
like how it all fits together. It worked out nicely.
However, I don''t feel our project needs to have stories as plain text,
in fact it''s a slight hindrance for us. Is there any sensible
mechanism for doing integration testing using rspec without plain text
stories?
Thanks,
Rob

R-help: beginner question
Hi,
I am a beginner user of R. I have a trivial question ? I am almost
ashamed I cannot figure it out does not matter how many times I
am reading the help.
I have a table in .txt format, tab delimited. I can read it with
?read.delim()? with no problems.
Afterwards I would like to use boxplot function to see if there
are any outliers in the column 5 of my data called TPAH16.ppm

displaying computation outputs inside "for" loops
Dear R-users,
I am puzzled by for loops and am kind of ashamed to ask because it is so
simple. There must be something I am missing in the way they are executed.
Basically, I would like to iterate a given number of time and generate a
bunch of stats (that's what loops are designed for, right?). Before doing
this I simply want to test simple procedure and see if they work (ie got the

FileCheck feature request- by default ignore IR-"headers"
Hi all-
I hope this is the right place for this.
Anyway, the primary usage for the utility "FileCheck" is to pattern match for specific values in a stream. This is perfectly consistent and deterministic for the most part! However, when validating clang's LLVM-IR generation, it is possible to make an invalid match against the top few generated lines (the LLVM-IR Headers), which are

LLVMCreateMemoryBufferWithContentsOfFile takes a path.
Erm...no...the code is calling LLVMCreateMemoryBufferWithMemoryRange, not
LLVMCreateMemoryBufferWithContentsOfFile...
Or do you mean I need to load the module into memory before calling
