Can't get simple config working!
Hi all.
I'm trying to get a simple configuration working so I can later expand it to
something more interesting.
I'm using kphone to call an extension on the * server. When I try to connect,
I get this error:
DEBUG[81926]: File chan_sip.c, Line 3562 (check_user): Setting NAT on RTP to 0

More questions. Call Waiting and Threeway
I can't do threeway from my Grandstream phone. Looking through the server
config files, I figured out why - zapata.conf has Threeway turned off for
the channels I use.
I do my work on someone else's Asterisk box and don't want to modify
zapata.conf for several reasons, the biggest being that the guy who owns
the box has a couple clients using it and I am deathly afraid of breaking

Asterisk and Festival (* dies with no info)
Hello,
I have Asterisk running on a RH9 box; Everything seems to be working as it
should, except for Festival. Every time that Festival is called from
Asterisk, Asterisk silently shuts down. Festival doesn't give any error
indication and Asterisk just plain dies without a peep.
Festival was installed per the Wiki, using source and patched with
festival-1.4.3-diff; it works fine at the

I have two before_filters for my application that both redirect. The
first checks whether there is an active session and if so, whether it
has timed out (a la the recipes book). This is run from
ApplicationController. The second filter is in use throughout most of
the app and checks to see whether the user has the correct credentials
to view the controller. This is run from individual

Rconsole wishlist
Hi all,
Wouldn't it be nice (??!!) if R automatically issued a warning message when
the R console buffer was about to fill so that you could save all your
output into a text file? (I know about sink(), but I think it would be good
to have an easier mechanism to save a complete record of messages and
function output). And on a similar vein, wouldn't it also be nice if R

converting numeric to ordered
Hello all,
would someone please tell me why the following code doesn't "work" (i.e. do
what i expected!).
I wanted to convert numeric variables in a matrix to ordered (for input as
nominal variables into the 'daisy' program).
Why does the following code seem to work, but the "is.ordered" command
reports that the variables are not ordered (factors)??

bit more active.]
Hello,
I started messing with Asterisk few days ago, so my overall knoledge
about it is still fairy superficial.
I think I found an issue with MP3Player; it can be reproducted with this
extension:

exten => 6001,2,Background(blahblah)

plotting dendrograms from cluster analyses
Hi all,
I have a bit of a newbie question here that I hope y'all can help with. I've
run a cluster analysis using hclust on about 500 objects (using R1.3 under
Win 2000). The problem is that the tips of the dendrogram are so close
together on the plot that the labels overlap and are unreadable. I've used
"cex" to reduce the label sizes but this isn't sufficient with so
