Enhanced queue app
To all who need more queue functionality, We are contracting Digium to enhance the queue app for our call center needs. Please read the following email conversation and give your ideas. Unless a glaring omission is found in my specification we will have them start tomorrow (Wednesday). I may not have thought of something important. It will be released to all Asterisk users by Digium. Thanks for

Macintosh Transperancy (PR#11511)
Full_Name: Brad Vance Version: 2.7.0 OS: 10.5.2 Submission from: (NULL) (71.123.195.202) Problem : When drawing transperant points with lines thick-lines(lwd>1) + fill (pch=21-25), it looks like the line is transperantly overlayed over the fill, making it look like 2-lines surround the fill (each a different color). I actually think that this is a nice OPTIONAL way to draw the points (even

NX on 4.5 vs 5.0
NX connections to my 4.5 server give "cramped" looking fonts (as if the resolution were wrong). Connections to my 5.0 server look great regardless of the resolution. Both use GNOME. Is there anything I can do to the 4.5 servers to increase the quality of the NX connections? Thanks, Scott

[stuart.leask@nottingham.ac.uk: R in your pocket on a Sharp Zaurus]
Ah, but the interesting thing is that they are coming out with a 'clam' version like the 5MX. Details are limited at the moment, but that could mean the combination of 5MX usability with a supported linux distro. I am drooling in anticipation. Sounds like a "I've finally finished my PhD and deserve a treat" situation to me :) Dave On Thu, Mar 06, 2003 at 09:17:20AM

compressed archives
Suppose I have a particular version of a largish compressed archive, most likely a .tgz or .tbz2, and that a remote machine has a newer, and only slightly different, version of the same archive, where most of the content hasn't actually changed much. I might attempt to obtain a copy of the newer archive by first copying my local older copy to the newer name as a file to update from. My

The Origins of R AND CALCULUS
An amusing afterthought : What is a rival software (ahem!) was planting this, hoping for a divide between S and R communities.or at the very minimum hoping for some amusement. an assumption or even a pretense of stealing credit is one of the easiest ways of sparking intellectual discord Most users of softwares don't really care about who gets credit ( Who wrote Windows Vista ,or Mac OS or

PCI SATA Controller Recommendations?
Hello fellow listers... I'd like to get some recommendations on a good SATA controller for use with CentOS 5.x. It should be PCI, bootable, have 4 SATA ports, have native support (no crap proprietary or manually compiled drivers), and possibly hot swap support. Any ideas? There are plenty of PCI-X and PCIe controllers that I think would work but the use for this card is in a smaller 1U

Cluster analysis question
Hello All, I have data where each feature data point is a vector, and my distance measurement is a weighted dot product between vectors. I would like to use R to perform a cluster analysis on this data. Does one of the R cluster analysis routines provide for a user provided distance function? Making TIMEOUT work?
I have problems getting the TIMEOUT value work the same way LILO/GRUB does it.. ie it should wait until the timeout and then use the default value. However, it goes straight for the default value without waiting a single second (and a TIMEOUT value of 500 should mean 50 seconds, as it counts in 1/10th of a second, right?) login script problem
Hello all. I'm having a bit of trouble with login scripts. Whenever a workstation logs in, the first line in the batch file gets run, but then a "Batch file missing" error is displayed. I've checked the permissions on the file and changed them to 777 and it still doesn't work. I'm using samba 2.2.2. Any ideas? Here's my config snippit: logon path =

[LLVMdev] fmac generation for cortex-a9
Hi Sebastien, ARMv7-M has VFMA and LLVM's "triple" is far from perfect. Wikipedia tells me NovaThor can also be A15, or STE could have cramped a VFPv4 in it? ;) Or possibly, your code never branches into the VFMA. Many things could be happening, but usually, VFMA shouldn't be generated for A9. A GCC bug, maybe? On 9 November 2012 16:51, Sebastien DELDON-GNB

[LLVMdev] fmac generation for cortex-a9
Hi Renato, It's definitively not A15. Can this be the case that NEON units for cortex-A9 support it but isn't documented/recommended ? And as mentioned before code is working ! Recursive pxelinux.0 and pxelinux.cfg directories.
I am trying to set a uniform PXE environment to load multiple distros. RHEL 5.1 and 4.7 SUSE 10.2 and 11 Solaris 10 X86 Window Multiple server versions.... - Why? Because I am in hell. What I want is to have an upper level pxelinux.0 call the default menu directories that come with the releases. Is there a way to call pxelinux.0 and point it at a different pxelinux.cfg directory?

Ashlee Vance's article on R in the New York Times
Ashlee Vance's article on R in the New York Times. This is typical of the New York Times. Because they get to coast on the prestige and reputation of their brand , they have a history of just this sort of journalistic sloppiness. Whether it's the author or the editor at fault doesn't really matter, they do this screw-up all the time. Look, if you write an article on the first page of

First, don't shout when you set the subject. It just looks like spam. >* Why does testparm complain about can't find include file? > Can't find include file Something tells me that you have an include line in your conf file in the form of include = /usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf.%m which it tries to include, for every machine that accesses your server, and of course fails,

RJS in Internet Explorer to update a list box
Hi, I''m trying some RJS to update a series of list boxes in which the user selects a state, and the following list gets updated with a list of counties, and the same for the next list of areas. My code works perfectly (albeit a bit slow) on Firefox, but on Internet Explorer it clears the list box (instead of filling it) and Netscape shows all the counties cramped together on one
