Initiator for iscsi?
Anyone running centos with an iscsi filesystem mounted? If so: What version of centos? Which iscsi package? What filesystem are you using on the mount? Does it perform like you'd expect? Thanks, peter

CentOS 4.1 iSCSI support
Hi. I found this cached in google: "The initial release of CentOS 4 does not include iSCSI software initiator or target support. Support for iSCSI is being evaluated for addition in a future update to CentOS 4." What is the status on iSCSI for CentOS 4.1? I've tried to install it using yum but cannot seem to get the appropriate package names.. And the above note suggests that

iSCSI experiences
I just tried an iSCSI connection to a NetAPP filer. I first tried using CentOS-4.2, but the iscsi initiator would not work. Using the command iscsi-ls would not show anything. Without spending too much time trying to figure out why, I tried from a CentOS-3 box. Connecting from the CentOS-3 box worked without a problem the first time. I will try further to get the CentOS-4 box to connect, but

RSpec 0.8.2 pain, missing spec/rails?
Hi. I''m upgrading a project from an 0.8.0 pre-release gem to 0.8.2. I''ve installed the 0.8.2 gem, and the rspec_on_rails 0.8.2 plugin: ruby script/plugin install svn://rubyforge.org/var/svn/rspec/tags/REL_0_8_2/rspec When I try to run my specs though, I get the below error. It''s as if the spec_helper cannot find "spec/rails". I''ve noticed that

iSCSI initiator iqn
Hi, I could not find any option to set iSCSI initiator iqn while using guestfish, although the underlying qemu command has this option. It appears that each time guestfish tries to connect to iSCSI LUN, a randomly generated initiator iqn is being used. This is preventing guestfish to connect to the iSCSI target in our environment as the target allows incoming connection based on the preconfigured

iSCSI offload with Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM5709.
Hello all. We recently purchased HP Proliant DL380 G7 server and also a HP Lefthand P4500 G2 24TB iSCSI box. The server itself has Quad Ethernet based on the BCM5709 Chipset from Broadcom (NetXtreme II). My main question is about iSCSI offload mechanism, as iSCSI itself is pretty new to me but I have gotten a good hold on it tho. I have managed to setup and configured our Lefthand box into

iscsi-initiator-utils required in 5.6, loads uneeded modules
I just updated one of my virtual hosts to 5.6 and on rebooted I spotted an error about iscsi. Which surprised me, since I don't use iscsi. Yet there it is... % rpm -qf /etc/init.d/iscsi iscsi-initiator-utils-6.2.0.872-6.el5 And they're configured to start iscsi 0:off 1:off 2:off 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off iscsid 0:off 1:off 2:off 3:on 4:on

iscsi storage, LACP or Multipathing | Migration or rebuild?
Hi, I do have one iscsi storage with 4 GBit nics of which currently only one is configured with an ip and which is in productive use by one cent os 6.3 server. Doing some research brought me to the idea to use some nic bonding or multipathing for that storage, but multipathing I did about four or five years ago only once :) Furthormore I can't find the ultimate answer (may be there is not

CentOS 4.2 iscsi-initiator-utils mounting NetAPP problem
I can successfully mount my NetApp with the iscsi-initiator-utils provided with CentOS-3.x, but with the same configuration I cannot see any results using CentOS-4.2 Any Ideas, or troubleshooting tips are appreciated. Has anyone gotten iscsi-initiator-utils version 4 to work with a NetApp ?

Using Solaris iSCSI target in VirtualBox iSCSI Initiator
Hello, I?m using ZFS to export some iscsi targets for the virtual box iscsi initiator. It works ok if I try to install the guest OS manually. However, I?d like to be able to import my already prepared guest os vdi images into the iscsi devices but I can?t figure out how to do it. Each time I tried, I cannot boot. It only works if I save the manually installed guest os and re-instate the same

[PATCH node] Add iSCSI initiator setup option
This add an iscsi initiator name setup option to the main menu in ovirt-config-setup and can also be accessed via ovirt-config-iscsi. Also accepts AUTO setup by running ovirt-config-iscsi AUTO and generates a random name as before --- Makefile.am | 1 + ovirt-node.spec.in | 3 ++ scripts/ovirt-config-boot | 4 --- scripts/ovirt-config-iscsi | 56

Streaming to/from MySQL
Hi. When I upload a 10Mb file (from my browser) to my Rails app, a Tempfile object gets created on the server. When the contents gets written to the database, it''s a simple INSERT, so basically the data is read to memory and then inserted into MySQL. How come the data is not streamed to the DB so we avoid the memory issue? Is this a short coming of ActiveRecord or the MySQL/Ruby

Possible to run iscsi-target and initiator on same server?
I am trying to install Oracle RAC in a two node cluster for testing purposes, so performance is not something that concerns me. I just want to go through the process all the way to creating a database. I have all the prerequisites except the shared storage and thought I'd give this a try. I'm running: - CentOS 5.3 kernel 2.6.18-164.el5 - iscsitarget-1.4.18-1 -

User/group/role model question
Hi. I have an app where "users" can belong in "groups" with certain "roles" (eg. a user can own a group). Normally I''d make users has_and_belongs_to_many groups and put a role_id on the join table. But - a role is really a first class citizen also, so a model is in order. The problem with making a "role" model which has_many "users"
