(Semi-OT) Problems with Firefox
List,
After I think the last or next to last update to firefox, I started
seeing some problems, wherein I no longer have a "back" function on any
pages or tabs. Also, I get some kind of strange message....

CentOS 5.11 / Firefox 31 -- totally borked...
OK, I just updated my two CentOS 5 boxes (my laptop and by desktop) and
discoved that FF 31 is totally borked -- it seems not to be possible to
install either Firebug (either 2.0.4 or 1.12.8) or Firefox 2, the theme
reloaded (1.0.8). These two addons are critical to me. So I have snaged the FF
24.8.0 rpms from the CentOS 5 vault and downgraded to this version and blocked
further updates of FF.

firefox 18
Has anyone managed to get FF 18.0 to work on Centos 5.8?
I've been hacking at it, placing a stack of .so files (from Centos 6)
into a private directory, then using LD_LIBRARY_PATH to point the system to
(in a shellscript that subsequently invokes ff 18) but so far I've not
managed to find the right combination. I've moved over libstdc++, all
or nearly all the .so files from glib2 and

anyone used the new firefox leak monitor?
One of the Mozilla developer released a new extension to detect JS
memory leaks:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2490/
If it''s accurate, it might be bad news for Prototype. I have some code
using prototype 1.4 with no leaks, but other code with 1.5 leaks on
every single bindAsEventListener call, and a bunch of other places. Not
sure if it''s just me; I may just be

Problems with latest Firefox update -- can't install new extensions
Since the latest Firefox update to 45.7.0 on my CentOS 6.8 system, I can
no longer install add-ons/extensions. Things LOOK like they're working
but the extensions don't get stored in my normal area and they don't
appear in my Add-Ons menu. Is anyone else having this issue?
It has been a while since I added any new extensions so I can't say WHEN
exactly this problem happened

Firefox 78 under CentOS 6 -- no sound?
I did a yum update on my CentOS 6 laptop and it upgraded Firefox to 78, and
FF stopped seeing my mic and speakers. Is there some magic I need to do? As
a short term (?) fix, I downgraded back to Firefox 68. My system is otherwise
up-to-date.

C6 Firefox 45.1 segmentation faults
on updated C6 x86_64 Firefox ESR 45.1.0 is seg faulting on various sites,
mainly media sites. Tried uninstalling flash-plugin 11.2.202.616 but
problem persists.
Work around: installed Seamonkey from epel repo

First time class problems
Hi,
I''ve just had my very first attempt of making a JavaScript class,
"prototype" style, so please bare with me, for any disastrous errors :-)
Anyway, I''ve made this class, which is called on an input field on focus:
http://pastebin.com/487417
It works fine in FireFox, but causes some problems in IE. My question is
regarding line 69 in the paste. What is

Yes, that clip does not have sound.
I'll try to upgrade ffmpeg in the following days, see if that helps FF.
If anyone has other ideas, I'm listening.

CentOS/RHEL's build of firefox hardwired to evolution -- how to change this
For some awful reason (can someone explain why?), the RHEL/CentOS build
of firefox is hardwired to use evolution as its mailto client. With FF
2.<mumble> this was fixable with an about:config setting. With
3.0.<mumble>, it seems not. What is the proper way of fixing this?
*I* ended up doing a 'sudo rpm -e evolution' and then doing a
'sudo ln -s

firefox-1.0.2-1.4.1.centos4 unstable?
Has anyone else noticed that firefox is less stable after the recent
security update?
I'm getting several occurrences per day of "just goes poof," i.e.
probably seg fault.
