Asterisk Voice Mail Server and older Executone PBX..can it be done?
Does anyone have experience with melding Asterisk with an older Executone PBX? I have a client whose existing voicemail server(repartee) has become bonkers and we need to stick a VM system in there asap. I thought asterisk would be a good thing to use. Does anyone have experience with the older Executone PBX's and asterisk? Any caveats, any tips, any things I should be aware of? Thanks,

Timestamp on voice mail messages is based on wrong timezone
running asterisk 1.4.13... I've noticed with SOME email clients that the timestamp reported from voicemail is 5 hours off (difference of EST vs UTC). That is, a voicemail received at 15:17:59 EST is sent via email with a Date: header of "10:17:59 - 0500". An email sent through normal means (mail client) from the asterisk server reports the correct time, so it's definitely

Siemens Optipoint 400 and Voice Mail
Hi all, I have looked through the wiki guides and also Siemens user guides but they haven't proven useful. Nor has the normally trusty googling. Also have upgraded to the latest Optipoint 400 Standard SIP firmware. Having read a few previous threads on the Optipoint it seems that there isn't much take up with Asterisk. Which seems a shame as my experience with testing it has been

TE205P, E1, Panasonic PBX and hang-up issues
Hey folks, I have a Digium TE205P working as a man in the middle: PRI line -------- Asterisk/TE205P -------- PBX The PBX is a Panasonic KX - TVP 100. Everything is working great except for one little issue. Asterisk isn't hanging up the PRI B channel when the PBX channel is hung up. I don't want to overload you with information but please ask if more is needed. I suspect I'm

Asterisk connecting to a proprietry PBX
Hi guys, I'm interconnecting an Asterisk box with a Lucent Definity PBX by means of FXO/FXS ports on a TDM2400 card. Everything works well, except for one little thing. Every now and then somebody (from an Asterisk extension) will call another extension on the Lucent Definity PBX and they hit their voicemail. They caller leaves their message (or not) and hangup, BUT the Lucent sometimes

Best way to connect asterisk to an traditional PBX
Hi list, we want to connect asterisk to an traditionnal PBX (EADS 6550/Matra). People from telco told that they can't connect two PBX's using E1/T1 or only with QSig signaling. I wanted to use EuroISDN. In this case, it was me told that VN6-VN7 would be used. The PBX has a spare ADQ card installed on which we would connect. Has someone a such working setup? Is it working well? More

Asterisk 1.6, IMAP Voicemail and externnotify
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have Asterisk sitting between the PSTN and a legacy PBX. Asterisk is doing some IVR work prior to forwarding calls to the PBX and it also acts as the voice mail server for the PBX, with Asterisk configured for IMAP storage. When a call comes in and the caller leaves a voice mail, the VoiceMail application calls the program configured in

Voice Modem + Soundcard Driver
The problem with using Voice Modems is that they fall into two categories: 1) Hardware Modems which only have half-duplex transmission of voice 2) Soft/Win/Lin modems which are proprietry and don't have asterisk drivers Please shoot down this recipe before I waste any time trying to acheive it: Rationalisation: ---------------- In Australia and I assume other places, there is no

Voicemail to a commercial PBX/key phone system
Hello. I've seen some mentions of asterisk possibly being used as an inexpensive voicemail attachment to a commercial PBX etc. Does anyone here, have experience of using it in this fashion ? What commercial systems have been successfully attached too ? How is the attachment made ? Analog, digital ? If anyone has successfully accomplished this, I would like to hear the make and model of

Transitioning from existing PBX
Hello - Warning: newbie questions at 12 o'clock! I am looking at transitioning my house from a Panasonic KXT1232 to an asterisk-based PBX (*PBX). We currently have 5 CO lines and 16 extensions plus ADSL with a static IP. I have looked at the various docs, but find I still have some questions. 1. Interface cards a. Should I buy a T100P + channel bank? (BTW: Why isn't this

SV: Re: SV: Re: Fromstring when sending e-mail onrecievedvoicemail
It's fixed now. In "/etc/mail/ssmtp.conf", this ("FromLineOverride=YES") line was commented out. Removing that comment did the trick :) Now I only need to change the e-mail's title. Is that possible? -----Opprinnelig melding----- Fra: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com] P? vegne av Barry Flanagan Sendt: 22.

* as VM for legacy PBX?
Hi, all. I've got an old Telrad PBX with an Emagen(?) voicemail box. The VM box, itself, is beginning to show its age. Big-time. We're thinking it might be time to look for a replacement. I'd love to install Asterisk with an FXO card or something, but I don't think it supports whatever protocol legacy PBX's used to speak to VM systems. If someone can tell me I'm

making * more like a normal pbx (cisco ata-186)
I've done something similar at home, but made my dialplan such that I can dial either 10 or 11 digits locally. I don't use a "throw away" digit at all. Any 7, 10, or 11 digit call will be appropriately mangled and sent out the PSTN / VoIP provider. ________________________________ From: asterisk-users-admin@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-admin@lists.digium.com] On

Asterisk Pbx Manager Equivalent (in plain text - apologies to those that dont like HTML mail!!)
http://www.thirdlane.com/screenshots.htm (Asterisk PBX Manager from Thirdlane) looks like a great program for "eye candy configuration" of Asterisk. However it costs lost of $, and I'm currently only an "experimenter" so to speak. Anyone advice of a decent alternative that is similar?? Currently, we only have VOIP connections, but will have a couple of Digium

Voice linmodems and Asterisk PBX
Hello group, Just got this reply from Sasha @ Smart Link, a soft modem chipset company with a very nice attitude towards Linux. BTW, You can check the status of most modem chipsets and Linux support here: http://www.idir.net/~gromitkc/dips/roster.html The good news is that the current 2.7.x series supports voice commands and is full duplex, but can only work with one modem. This issue will
